The Wizard: Starting with Infinite Part-Time Jobs

Chapter 80 Apology, Soaring Resolution

"I don't want to be modified." The fat wizard shook his head, his face jiggling as he did so.

"If you don't modify yourself, how will you earn money part-time? Whether it's hunting sea monsters or searching for bird eggs on islands, you need to have enough strength." The skinny wizard emphasized, poking the fat wizard's arm with his finger as he spoke.

"We'll see, I want to lie down. I thought I was a genius, but it turns out I'm still far from becoming a wizard," the fat wizard said helplessly. He leaned against a nearby rock and slumped there like a lump of mud.

"Who isn't?" The skinny wizard sighed as well, his shoulders slumping.

"Come on, Aiden, come with us to class." The two turned around and smiled at Aiden. Although their smiles were a little tired, they were still sincere.

"No problem." Aiden nodded and followed them forward.

The fat wizard's name is Sig, and the thin wizard's name is Anlie. They were both people who helped Aiden move yesterday, and they are both old-timers in Rune Courtyard.

Both of them were very warm-hearted and approachable.

Their strength is somewhere between that of a mid-level wizard apprentice and a high-level wizard apprentice.

"Junior Brother Aiden, you'd better be mentally prepared. This rune course is extremely difficult. Apart from Junior Sister Annie who has talent, most people in our organization haven't been able to master it yet," the fat wizard Sig reminded him, patting Aiden on the shoulder, making Aiden sway slightly.

"It's like a pie that no one has gotten a taste of yet!" Sieg added, drawing a large circle in the air with his hand.

"It's okay, I'll give it a try," Aiden said with a smile, a slight upturn at the corners of his mouth.

"Junior Brother Aiden, don't be stressed. This fat guy can't handle setbacks," the skinny wizard Anlie complained, making a face at Sig.

"You're the one who can't handle setbacks," the fat wizard Sig retorted, puffing out his cheeks like an angry frog and even waving his fist.

Soon, the three of them entered the classroom, which was somewhat dimly lit, where the wizard Leon was giving a lecture.

There were about a dozen people in the classroom, all sitting quietly, with only the occasional sound of turning pages.

The wizard Leon had a full beard and looked somewhat unkempt, with messy hair.

When Aiden visited yesterday, he learned that Aiden's initial mental strength was only 0.6, so he stopped exchanging pleasantries and the enthusiasm on his face vanished instantly.

As a formal wizard, he had little to talk to with the wizard apprentices who were likely just cannon fodder.

Leon glanced at Aiden as he entered, a sense of anticipation rising within him. He coughed twice and said, "Since we have a newcomer today, I'll start from the beginning." He cleared his throat.

Aiden nodded gratefully, a genuine smile on his face.

The wizard here, though his attitude towards him was lukewarm, was still dutiful. That was enough.

The others also glanced at Aiden, who was a newcomer and whose name had already spread throughout Rune Courtyard.

However, everyone knows that Aiden's initial mental strength was very weak.

Most people are quite friendly towards this junior brother.

However, they couldn't help but feel some sympathy; some shook their heads, while others sighed softly.

Only after embarking on the path of a wizard do you realize how desperate the gap in talent can be!

"The core of our runic literature is using consciousness to inscribe specific runic symbols on the body. Those with talent can do it easily. For example, Annie." The wizard Lyon began his lecture, drawing some strange symbols on the blackboard as he spoke, the chalk making a "rustling" sound as it rubbed against the blackboard.

"Those with great perseverance can also carve it, but it requires a lot of energy and time," Wizard Leon continued, gesturing the shape of the famous rune in the air with his hand.

"The rest of you, it's hopeless. I hope everyone will try their best and not let our runic arts be lost." Wizard Leon sighed, his shoulders slumped.

This art of runic writing is so difficult to learn, he doesn't know how to teach it.

Then, he teleported directly in front of Aiden, causing a ripple in the air around him. Aiden jumped back in fright, nearly crashing into the table behind him.

"The Dean told me that you're preparing to publish an article in the Wizarding Daily, and that you're a promising talent. I apologize for my poor attitude towards you yesterday." Wizard Leon bowed slightly, his wizarding robes swaying gently with the movement, the mysterious runes embroidered on the hem of his robes shimmering faintly.

Aiden may not be naturally gifted, but if he has any unique insights, that could be a turning point for runeology.

"Lord Lyon, you don't need to tell me all this," Aiden said hastily, getting up.

He never expected that this unkempt, formal wizard would be willing to apologize to him.

The previously quiet atmosphere began to stir slightly after the wizard Lyon apologized.

The wizarding apprentices present all looked on in disbelief.

Some people opened their mouths wide, their jaws almost dropping off.

Some rubbed their eyes hard, wondering if they had seen wrong.

"Holy crap? Junior Brother Aiden, you're going to be in the newspaper?" The fat wizard Sig said, his face flushed red, as he slapped his thigh hard.

Aiden nodded without batting an eye, a faint smile on his face.

He had completely memorized Mr. Tesh's experimental results.

Even if he didn't do it, he's the one who did it now.

Only by demonstrating your value will you gain recognition and have the opportunity to go further.

Whether it's the truth or not is not important.

"That's awesome," the skinny wizard Anlie muttered to himself, his eyes wide with envy.

Others also came over to offer their congratulations or ask questions.

Some of the wizard apprentices had smiles on their faces.

Some of them gathered around Aiden, chattering away.

Suddenly, the whole classroom became lively.

"Everyone, my specialty is biology, and the specific results still need to be reviewed by the Wizarding Committee. Let's start the lesson first!" Aiden said apologetically, waving his hand gently to signal everyone to quiet down.

The wizard Lyon nodded and returned to the podium.

He continued, "We have a total of [Lightness Runes] and [Power Runes]. The [Lightness Runes] involve 800 inscription paths, while the [Power Runes] involve 1200."

After saying that, the wizard Lyon stretched out his arm, on which a light blue and light brown symbol appeared.

The symbol shimmered with light, surrounded by a thin layer of mist.

Aiden stared intently. His eyes didn't blink, as if the symbol was under a spell.

"Main class discovered: Rune Inscriber (Epic), Resolution (15%)"

"Main class discovered: Rune Inscriber (Epic), Resolution (16%)"

"Main class discovered: Rune Inscriber (Epic), Resolution (17%)"

"Main class discovered: Rune Inscriber (Epic), Resolution (18%)"

Every few seconds, the resolution in his mind would increase.

Aiden felt his heart beating faster and faster, like a drum, pounding away.

"Holy crap, this class's analysis level is increasing much faster than when I was looking at Annie's runes the other day."

His brow furrowed, and a look of surprise appeared on his face.

"Is it because Lord Lyon is a certified wizard?"
