The Wizard: Starting with Infinite Part-Time Jobs

"More importantly, my range is farther and more concealed than that of witchcraft," Aiden continued, a smile playing on his lips.

As is well known, the stronger the witchcraft, the greater its power and range.

"Range is a unique advantage of the archer class," Aiden said softly, standing in the middle of the garden with his hands on his hips.

"I've already mastered more than half of the Arm Strength Technique, and I reckon I'll be able to advance to the next level soon," Aiden muttered to himself, his eyes filled with anticipation. "Except for wizards, whose training speed is relatively slow, the other professions train quite quickly."

"Perhaps it's because of the job panel, I won't have any bottlenecks. I just need to meet the requirements to advance." Aiden said as he paced back and forth in the garden.

Just then, a commotion arose outside the garden from more than a dozen wizard apprentices.

The sound grew louder and louder, like a flock of noisy sparrows.

Aiden saw Anne in the center, wearing a light blue robe, her hair swaying gently in the wind, and a sweet smile on her face.

There's also the fat wizard Sig, with his big belly, who waddles around like a clumsy penguin.

The skinny wizard Anlie was as thin as a bamboo pole, but he walked briskly behind the fat wizard Sieg.

The crowd was hurrying towards the outside of the rune courtyard, their steps creating a small whirlwind.

"Are they going there?" Aiden asked curiously, tilting his head and looking in the direction the crowd had gone.

"Junior Brother Aiden, what a coincidence." Annie looked at Aiden in the garden, revealing a set of white teeth, and smiled beautifully.

Aiden nodded to her with a gentle smile.

"Where are you going? To do calisthenics?" Aiden asked with a smile, his arms crossed.

"What is radio calisthenics?" the fat wizard Sig interjected, tilting his head to one side with a look of confusion on his face.

"It's nothing, haha." Aiden shook his head.

"Junior Brother Aiden, we're going to participate in the Apprentice Resource Protection Competition. We're competing with the Silent Blade, the wizarding organization next door, for territory. The more territory we have, the more magic stones we wizard apprentices will receive each month, which is our base salary. Right now, it's 5 magic stones a month," Senior Sister Annie said, pulling a map from her sleeve as she spoke.

As she spoke, she unfolded the map, which detailed the island's territory, with three different colored areas.

The area represented by Rune Courtyard is blue, and the area represented by Silent Blade is cyan. There are also smaller, gray areas.

"Is it that much different?" Aiden glanced at the map, frowned, and looked surprised.

In this territory, the Rune Courtyard occupies only 2% of the area; the remaining 6% is cyan. The other 2% is gray.

"Back when Senior Sister Iseli was still a high-level wizard apprentice, we still had half of the spots available, and we earned 15 magic stones a month. Now that she's broken through to become a full-fledged wizard, we can't participate anymore," Annie said, blushing slightly, her hands unconsciously fidgeting with the hem of her clothes.

"I see." Aiden nodded, a look of sudden realization on his face.

"And what about this gray area?" Aiden asked, showing great interest.

"This gray area is the unexplored territory. There are many powerful beasts inside, and even beings comparable to a first-ring wizard," Annie continued, gesturing to names on the map as she spoke.

She looked at Aiden with anticipation, her eyes sparkling. If he joined the protection tournament, the chances of Rune Courtyard securing territory would increase significantly.

Only she knew how unassuming Aiden was.

At the very least, most mid-level wizard apprentices would likely be no match for Aiden.

Aiden thought for a moment, stroked his chin, and said, "Then you guys keep up the good work. I still need to train for a while."

"You stingy little thing, we're leaving." Annie pouted, stomped her foot angrily, and stormed off with her head down.

Aiden: "..."

This senior sister changes her expression faster than turning the pages of a book.

He has only just learned meditation techniques, hasn't mastered a new zero-ring trick, and hasn't unlocked any new runes. He has a lot to do.

There's no need to go out and fight with others or take risks.

It will take at least some time.

"Junior Sister Annie, why are you so angry with Aiden? What can a newbie like him do?" Beside Annie, a tall male wizard with a fawning smile on his face scratched his head as he comforted her.

"Don't talk to me." Annie raised her eyebrows, widened her almond-shaped eyes, glared at him fiercely, and then angrily tossed her head away.

Then, Annie pushed off with both feet and lightly sat on the magic broom. The magic broom instantly emitted a slight buzzing sound and carried her into the air with a "whoosh".

The others followed suit and flew out one after another, their magic brooms drawing arcs in the air.

The fat wizard Sig and the thin wizard Anlie exchanged a glance, both pursing their lips and remaining silent.

The two of them have been silenced by the wizard Leon; the fact that Aiden learned runic writing at lightning speed that day cannot be revealed.

Aiden watched the departing group of wizard apprentices and was about to go out when he suddenly heard a rapid "fluttering" sound of fans coming from above.

Looking up, he saw the messenger owl he had seen several times tilting its head, its round eyes staring straight at him.

And a package was delivered, which the messenger owl held tightly in its claws and gently placed in front of Aiden.

"Huh! It's happening again? So punctual." Aiden was taken aback, his mouth slightly open, and he muttered to himself.

After confirming the recipient, the messenger owl spread its wings and flew away in a circle, creating a small gust of wind in its wake.

After watching the messenger owl leave, Aiden crouched down and opened the package with trembling hands.

"As expected, these are resources sent by Mr. Ford. There are 100 magic stones and 5 ash wood wands. That's equivalent to 200 magic stones. I've made a small fortune." Aiden's face showed a look of surprise. He paused and continued, "This is a reward to congratulate me on advancing to the rank of intermediate wizard apprentice."

"How did Mr. Ford know I advanced? I only advanced a little while ago." Aiden frowned, completely bewildered, and his head shook involuntarily.

"Oh well, maybe that's what angel investors are all about!" Aiden shrugged helplessly, a self-deprecating smile on his lips.

Aiden was used to it, and he didn't think Mr. Ford would harm him.

Each time, the resources Mr. Ford provided were just enough for the initial stage.

Rune Courtyard, beneath the wizard tower of the wizard Leon.

The surroundings were quiet, with only the occasional chirping of insects.

He knocked on the door for ages, the "knock knock knock" sounding especially loud in the silence, but no one answered.

"It seems Lord Lyon isn't here. I'll go visit Senior Sister Iseli."

Aiden stroked his chin, thought for a moment, and then spoke.

Perhaps because the wizard apprentices had all gone to participate in the protection competition, there were far fewer wizard apprentices in Rune Courtyard, and the once lively courtyard now seemed rather deserted.

Aiden arrived at the foot of Itheli's wizard tower again. The stone steps at the foot of the tower were clean and tidy, and he entered the large open-plan room where he had been before.

"Senior Sister Iseli, I'm here to report to the lab." Aiden stood at the door, bowed, and said politely.

"Please come in."

A crisp sound came from the laboratory, echoing through the empty space.
