"Faster, faster!"

A figure raced across the wilderness, so fast that only afterimages remained.

A dark, inky cloud followed closely in the sky. Only when it got closer could one see that it was actually a dense swarm of giant black eagles. Each one was enormous and incredibly ferocious. Hundreds of them gathered together, blotting out the sun. The wind carried their sharp cries, which echoed across the land.

Shi Geng turned his head to look back at the flock of eagles that were relentlessly pursuing him. The runes on the soles of his feet suddenly blazed brightly. He immediately flipped over and leaped off the unicorn, carrying it steadily with one hand. Divine light surged around him as he fled for his life.

In a one-on-one fight, he would have no fear, but now there were over a hundred ferocious birds gathered together. What's more troublesome is that each of these black eagles possesses a treasured technique, with sharp claws and wings that whip up a strong wind. Under their relentless attacks, he had no way to defend himself, and rashly engaging them would only lead to being surrounded and trapped in a deadly situation.

Shi Geng carried Xiao Bai on his back with one hand, running at full speed without stopping. Behind him, hundreds of black eagles relentlessly pursued him, a dark mass like a flowing black cloud sweeping across the wilderness, their momentum terrifying, relentlessly chasing his trail without letting up for a moment.

As he ran, the strong wind whipped his clothes around, the piercing cries of eagles behind him were deafening, and countless sharp wind blades came flying through the air, grazing his body and crashing to the ground, blasting up pieces of gravel and dust.

Shi Geng's expression was solemn, and he dared not pause for even a moment. He fully activated the vast blood energy of the Blood Transformation Realm within his body, and the runes on the soles of his feet shone even brighter, causing his speed to surge once again.

As the flock of eagles drew ever closer, their shadowy forms threatening to completely envelop him, Shi Geng's gaze suddenly fell upon a series of dark dots faintly appearing at the edge of the field.

It was a majestic ancient city wall, stretching endlessly across the sky and earth, like a sleeping ancient beast lying on the land. The thick and simple stone wall stood tall, exuding a sense of vastness and weight that had been weathered by time.

Shi Geng's eyes lit up, his blood energy surged, and he carried Xiao Bai with even greater force. The runes under his feet flowed to their maximum, and his figure transformed into a streak of crimson light, rushing straight toward the city wall.

Behind him, the black eagles roared angrily, and countless sharp arrows and magical winds poured down, blasting up dust and cracking the earth along the path he had just run.

The eagles held on tightly, and the dark clouds pressed down rapidly, skimming the ground, their killing intent filling the air.

In a short while, the majestic ancient city wall became clearer, the mottled stone bricks were covered with cracks from the years, and the city gate was faintly visible.

Shi Geng was overjoyed and mustered all his strength to accelerate again. His speed did not decrease at all, and he rushed straight into the city.

As soon as he stepped into the town, all the townspeople noticed the dark flock of eagles approaching from the sky. They all looked up and gazed at the scene, and a murmur of discussion arose from one another.

"What's going on? Aren't those the ferocious black eagles from Black Wind Mountain? Why are they coming to our Chongyun Town in droves?"

"There are over a hundred of them! This is a terrifying sight. In the entire town, perhaps only the High Priest could suppress them!"

The cries of eagles echoed across the town, with a dark mass of giant eagles circling overhead. A fierce wind whipped up the houses and trees, and a menacing aura permeated the streets and alleys, frightening ordinary people into hiding indoors and daring not to show their faces.

The cultivators and guards in the town had solemn expressions, gripping their weapons and on high alert, but none of them dared to step forward rashly.

Just as the flock of black hawks was stirring and about to break through the border and flood into the town, a burst of rosy light suddenly shot into the sky from the earthen hill outside the city.

With a soft hiss, a blazing crimson light shot out through the air, spun around, and swept across with immense power.

The fierce attack swept across the entire airspace in an instant. Dozens of giant eagles that were about to pounce were thrown into chaos. The mournful cries of the eagles rose and fell, echoing through the sky. Blood splattered one after another. The eagles were injured one after another, their wings shattered and their bodies wounded. In their panic, they scattered and avoided each other, no longer showing any of their previous ferocity.

"It was the Priestess who made the move!"

A gasp of surprise erupted from the crowd, filled with awe and joy.

Shi Geng looked up and saw that the crimson light was incredibly powerful, crisscrossing the sky. Every slash carried immense power, and the black eagles suffered heavy casualties. Their originally fierce momentum was instantly suppressed. The remaining eagles were so frightened that they dared not covet the sky above the town anymore. They hurriedly changed direction and fled in a sorry state towards Black Wind Mountain.

Shi Geng's eyes flickered slightly, a hint of surprise appearing in them. He was astonished to see that the crimson light that had intimidated the flock of eagles was actually a flying sword that was entirely crimson, with a smooth and translucent texture, just like a naturally formed fire jade.

With his extraordinary eyesight, Shi Geng saw that the source of the flying sword was the earthen hill outside the city.

Beside the town gate of Chongyun Town, a low hill rose up, and on the hill stood a strange plant, about four or five zhang tall, covered with a deep green color. Its leaves were large and thick, shaped like palm fans. Among the large, green palm fan leaves, three huge strange flowers bloomed quietly, each as big as a millstone. The petals were shimmering with light and were surrounded by layers of auspicious clouds.

First, it was wreathed in crimson flames, blazing like fire; second, it was crystal clear and flawless, smooth and warm like jade; third, it was shrouded in wispy purple mist, mysterious and unpredictable. The swords were exactly the same.

Shi Geng was secretly alarmed when he saw the crimson flying sword that had slaughtered dozens of black eagles turn back and land steadily inside the crimson flower. The flowing light around it slowly faded, and the brilliant radiance gradually subsided.

In a short while, the blooming giant flower slowly closed its petals and shut itself again.

Shi Geng suddenly realized, his heart filled with astonishment. It turned out that the fierce and deadly flying sword was not a real sword at all, but the stamen of this strange flower.

People on the street sighed with emotion:

"Thanks to Lord Chongyun, otherwise, with so many black hawks attacking, our Chongyun Town would have suffered heavy losses."

"Lord Chongyun has been stationed here for hundreds of years. In the early days, this was just a small town with less than a thousand people. He has protected it step by step and helped it develop to its current state. The town's population has now exceeded 80,000."

"With Lord Chongyun's abilities, he is fully capable of going to a major city to take charge of a region. His strength is in no way inferior to those city spirits. However, he is indifferent and has never been willing to leave, preferring to guard this homeland."

Listening to the casual conversations of the people around him, Shi Geng also learned some details about this sacrificial spirit.

With the crisis completely over, Shi Geng finally felt relieved and calmly began to survey the important border town of the Stone Kingdom before him.

Although named Chongyun Town, it is actually a magnificent city of considerable size, standing tall amidst the vast wilderness.

The continuous city wall is majestic and magnificent, like undulating mountains stretching in all directions. The entire wall is made of extremely hard diamond rock, and its whole body is deep black. The surface is covered with a cold, metallic luster, which is majestic and heavy, and has a powerful and awe-inspiring aura.

This was Shi Geng's first time venturing out of the vast wilderness, and all the sights and sounds of the world filled him with wonder and excitement.

He simply led Xiaobai slowly through the city streets and alleys, strolling around at his leisure.

The streets were bustling with carriages and pedestrians, and shops lined both sides of the road. The sounds of vendors hawking their wares filled the air. All sorts of rare and precious items, spiritual herbs and elixirs, and fresh fruits and delicacies, rarely seen in the Great Wilderness, were on display. It was a lively and bustling market scene, completely different from the silent and desolate Great Wilderness, leaving Shi Geng overwhelmed with excitement.
