Shi Gen glanced down at the snake-dog's corpse, then casually reached under its torso.

With a soft cracking sound, he took out a spirit seed that was pulsating with a faint light. It glowed slightly in his palm and still carried the lingering life force.

The moment the Spirit Seed was lost, the snake-dog's massive body suddenly went limp, and its once taut and hard skin quickly lost its luster, turning gray and cracked.

The once resilient skin and flesh shrank and shrank at a visible speed, as if all vitality and moisture had been drained away.

Its massive body began to loosen and dissolve. First, small fragments fell off, then large pieces of bone, armor, and flesh peeled away layer by layer, eventually turning into a pool of red and black soil on the ground, leaving only a bare skeleton.

The passageway was completely silent, save for the heavy breathing of Mark and his companion.

Mark stared at the massive snake-dog skeleton, then at the nonchalant Shi Geng, his throat bobbing as he managed to utter a few words with difficulty: "Dead?"

It should be noted that although the snake-dog is only a low-level phylogenetic Devouring Beast, it is extremely difficult to truly kill.

To date, no one in the Lighthouse has been able to figure out a way to completely destroy the Devouring Beasts.

Ignoring the two stunned people, Shi Geng casually put the still slightly warm spirit seed into the supply box, planning to study its mysteries in detail when he returned to the lighthouse.

Mark and Ran Bing exchanged glances, about to ask about the Spirit Seed, when they vaguely guessed that it might be the key to killing the Devouring Beast.

Before the two could speak, Mo Cheng's voice suddenly came through the communicator: "Captain Mark, the door is open. How's the situation on your end?"

Mark snapped back to reality and ordered in a deep voice, "I'm fine here, Mo Cheng, immediately organize the personnel to evacuate with the supplies, quick!"

After saying that, he turned to look at Shi Gen: "Let's get out of here quickly too."

Even though Shi Geng had just killed the snake-dog, these supernatural Devouring Beasts always travel in packs; the appearance of one meant there was bound to be a whole group nearby. No one could say for sure how many were still lurking inside the spaceship.

Shi Geng nodded slightly, picked up the supply box, and walked towards the exit. The hatch had already been pried open by everyone working together, and sand and dust were constantly blowing in from the outside.

The three had barely stepped out of the hatch when the passageway behind them began to shake violently, accompanied by the frantic howls of snakes and dogs, like a thousand horses galloping and crashing, causing the entire old spaceship to tremble slightly.

Mark's expression changed abruptly, and he and Ran Bing exchanged a quick glance. Their years of working side by side allowed them to instantly understand each other's thoughts, and they immediately ran towards the convoy that was retreating in the distance.

There, several gravity-body mechs sat quietly.

Shi Geng glanced down at the supply box in his hand, then at the surging pack of snakes and dogs behind him. He suddenly pushed off with his feet and moved like lightning to the transport vehicle he had been riding in.

"Please keep this box safe for me."

He casually placed the box on the car and spoke calmly to 4079, who was still in shock beside him.

4079 stood there stunned. Before he could react, Shi Geng had already disappeared from his sight.

"Was that 4066 just now? Where is he?"

He rubbed his eyes.

4068, standing to the side, was equally stunned, filled with doubt and surprise. How did 4066 appear? It disappeared in the blink of an eye. Could it be that he was hallucinating?

Leaving aside the two people with their faces full of surprise and doubt, Shi Geng had already leaped to the front of a gravity body—Mark's personal mecha, Dawn.

The entire machine is predominantly black, with sharp-edged alloy armor, thick and shield-like shoulder armor, and hydraulic lines and heat dissipation grilles densely distributed at the joints, exuding the unique cold and hard texture of steel.

The rear engine module is angular and aggressive, and the chainsaw blade mounted on it gleams coldly. Even when standing still, it exudes a sense of oppression that cannot be underestimated, making it the sharpest blade of the Hunter Commander.

Erica caught a glimpse of the suddenly appearing stone and was taken aback at first. Then, seeing the Devouring Beast rushing towards her in the distance, she immediately urged it on sharply.

"Hey, what are you doing here, you commoner? Get in the car and get out of here!"

Before she finished speaking, she had already nimbly flipped into the White Shark mech and quickly started the machine.

However, Shi Geng only glanced at her indifferently, and the next moment he leaped onto the Dawn Gravity Body, gripping the cold, gleaming chainsaw blade on his back with one hand.

"Hey! What do you think you're doing? This is Captain Mark's mech, you..."

Erica's rebuke was still hanging in mid-air when Shi Geng's five fingers gripped the handle of the chainsaw and he pulled it out sharply.

The alloy blades, accompanied by a low mechanical hum, were pulled out, their cold light instantly slicing through the sand and dust.

In the distance, a pack of snakes and dogs had already rushed out of the spaceship wreckage. Countless dark shadows roared and pounced, and a stench swept across the entire wasteland.

Mark and Ran Bing stopped in their tracks at the same time, staring in astonishment at the figure standing atop the dawn.

"What...is he going to do?" Ran Bing exclaimed in a low voice.

Shi Geng gripped the chainsaw, glanced down at the surging beast tide, and said calmly, "May I borrow your knife?"

These words seemed directed at Mark, yet also sounded like a casual remark. Before anyone could react, he lightly stepped off the Dawnbreaker mech and leaped into the air, charging alone towards the surging pack of snake-dogs.

"Hey, what are you doing? Are you out of your mind?"

Erica abruptly stopped piloting the White Shark mech, watching Shi Gen charge alone towards the beast tide. She was both anxious and angry, and her voice involuntarily rose a few decibels.

However, what happened next left Erica so shocked that her jaw almost dropped.

Shi Geng's figure flashed, so fast that only a blurry afterimage remained. In the blink of an eye, he had rushed alone to the front of the snake-dog pack.

Without any unnecessary movements, he twisted his wrist, and the chainsaw in his hand suddenly roared, the teeth spinning at high speed, emitting a sharp, teeth-grinding sound.

The snake-dog that lunged at them had just opened its blood-red maw when its movements suddenly froze, a deep, gruesome cut already visible on its neck.

The crimson spirit seed shimmered faintly in the wound before shattering inch by inch.

One head, two heads, three heads...

The afterimages darted through the beast tide, and with each flash of the blade, a snake-dog let out a mournful cry and collapsed to the ground.

The Devouring Beasts that had just left the Lighthouse Hunters helpless were now being easily harvested like weeds in his presence.

Erica was stunned inside the mecha, completely forgetting to react.

Mark and Ran Bing, who had just arrived from a short distance away, froze on the spot, their faces filled with shock.

That was an entire horde of Devouring Beasts, densely packed as far as the eye could see. Even those piloting gravity-based vehicles could only avoid their attacks, but now, in Shi Geng's hands, they were being slaughtered as easily as cutting melons and vegetables.

Moreover, they were completely dead. The slain snake-dog bodies rapidly dissolved, their flesh turning into a viscous, reddish-black liquid that seeped into the earth. In the blink of an eye, more than a dozen skeletons lay on the ground.

"Captain, he... he couldn't possibly be a Devouring Beast in disguise, could he?"

Erica's eyes widened, and she murmured incredulously. Was this dustman really human? If it weren't for the mecha capturing the images, she wouldn't have been able to see what had just happened at all.
