Wizard: Grinding experience starting with Knight's Breathing Technique

Chapter 570 The 9th Epoch, The Origin of the Abyss!

Chapter 570 The Nine Eras, The Origin of the Abyss! (Long chapter, please vote and subscribe!)

Two shadows were cast on the ancient dragon continent.

The patrolling knight looked up and saw two colossal dragons, like suspended mountain ranges, drifting by—one crimson, the other pure white, their fiery clouds intertwined, a scene both dreamlike and ethereal. The two dragons then transformed into two male figures, one red and one white.

"Please inform the Twilight Palace Master that the Dragonborn Hermitage is visiting."

"Okay...okay."

The young knight wasn't too shocked. The Ancient Dragon Continent had no shortage of dragons; he'd even chatted with Mr. Ancient Mountain Dragon not long ago.

Not long after, two figures transformed into rainbows and landed in front. It was Li Wei and Elena, the latter with a rosy complexion, clearly having just finished celebrating.

Li Wei asked with a smile, "What brings you two here?"

The Lava Dragon and the Cloud Dragon exchanged a glance and said, "I wonder if the Ancient Dragon Continent is still recruiting? Our Dragonborn Cult is considering merging into it."

Although the Dragonborn Order has a small number of members, their average quality is high, and they have a considerable number of elemental wizards, making them a top-tier wizarding organization.

The merger of major powers requires the consent of the Nora Council. The Council had already informed Levi beforehand, which he was naturally eager to accept.

"Okay, no problem. It's just that the Ancient Dragon Continent is a bit too small now. I need to apply to the council for a new continent first."

Although Li Wei occasionally throws a line from "The Sea Changes into Mulberry Fields" at the mainland, it still can't keep up with the ever-growing demand for expansion.

"It's alright, I've already moved the Sleeping Dragon Domain here."

Suddenly, a figure appeared in the sky. It was the Holy Lord of Earth. He descended leisurely, carrying a continental plate that was no less large than the Ancient Dragon Continent, like a giant. He looked relaxed and carefree.

Elena couldn't help but laugh:

"This is what a real move is like."

Li Wei was also internally complaining.

As the saying goes, "You can run away from the monk, but you can't run away from the temple."

But for the Earth Saint, this does not exist.

He can carry the temple around!

The two dragons quickly bowed deeply to thank the Holy Lord of the Earth.

The Holy Lord of Earth said, "I've placed the continent on this side of the western outer sea. How you remodel it from now on is your business." In reality, with his abilities, he could easily merge the two continents together. However, he knew that the Ancient Dragon Continent had its own continental remodeling plan, so he didn't want to hinder it.

"Okay, thank you, senior."

Watching the legend leave, Erlong felt a pang of emotion.

They naturally knew that the Holy Lord of the Earth was moving not because of them, but because of the Lord of the Twilight Palace.

Indeed, joining this place was a good choice.

In fact, several top wizarding organizations had previously sought to join the Ancient Dragon Continent, but neither the Twilight Temple Master nor the Nora Council agreed. The Ancient Dragon Continent wasn't a place one could simply come to at will.

However, it's much easier to join any organization related to dragons or animals, and the Twilight Palace Master usually agrees.

No wonder it's rumored that the Lord of Twilight Palace has another hidden identity that everyone has overlooked... "The Director of the Ancient Dragon Zoo"!

"Welcome to the Gu Long family."

Subsequently, the two giant dragons, along with a group of chattering dragonborn wizards, temporarily settled on the neighboring Sleeping Dragon Continent.

However, Li Wei's acquaintances, Alyssa, Ashe, and the Sky Dragon Witch, were not here. They were all hard-working individuals, currently fighting against the remnants of demons in various places in order to exchange for the Sun Artifact.

Meanwhile, the powerful figures of the Mechanical School were discussing the model of the Sleeping Dragon Continent. The Sleeping Dragon Continent was destined to be integrated into the Ancient Dragon Continent. It simply needed to be mechanized and integrated with the Star Fortress Matrix of the Ancient Dragon Continent.

The demons have temporarily halted their invasion of Nora, but the Ancient Dragon Continent has already stockpiled enough demon materials to last for hundreds of years, so there's no need to worry about resources. Not to mention, the Nightmare World can continuously supply resources to them.

Taking advantage of this lull, a massive transformation movement is underway throughout Nora, from grassroots organizations to the Nora Council.

On the one hand, we need to repair the damaged continental bridge and star gate; on the other hand, we need to install large-scale protective arrays and barriers in the coastal settlements of the continent to prepare for the integration of the next large civilization and prevent this incident from happening again.

In the future, we may even see the figures of great wizards and even legendary wizards appearing all over the world.

They moved the sunken continent out of the sea, completely repaired the damaged crystal walls, and used earth-shattering magic to heal the wounded Nora. The speed of post-disaster reconstruction was exceptionally fast.

If Nora were still alive ten thousand years from now, future generations, recalling this era, might marvel at its magnificence and its miraculous nature:

Nora Speed!

……

Two years later.

Nora calendar year 1552, Blood War year 1440.

Ancient Banyan Tree Wonderland.

The transformation of the Three Realms here is already halfway complete, and the construction is progressing faster than Mana expected. The initial forms of the Three Realms have all been established, overlapping within the Ancient Banyan Immortal Realm like parallel worlds, isolated from each other yet interconnected.

The human realm.

Beside the small stone pool.

Thick books and piles of crystal balls were placed around Li Wei, all containing various kinds of knowledge and spell models.

During this period, he focused on studying the spells of the Dream School. The low-level and mid-level spell sequences have been determined, but the names have not yet been decided.

Elena's figure appeared in a black tulle dress.

"I've refined the Lord of the Tides. This artifact is truly extraordinary. Guess what incredible abilities it has given rise to."

Her tone was excited, clearly taken aback.

Li Wei looked up and smiled, "Did it extend your lifespan?"

"How did you know? Oh, I forgot, you can see lifespan. That's right, I actually extended my life by three hundred years... This is the first time I've heard of a miraculous object that can extend lifespan."

Li Wei smiled without saying a word.

As the creator of this extraordinary artifact, he had sensed its potential function—perhaps extending lifespan—when he was consuming his own lifespan. Now that it had been confirmed, he breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that his hundred years hadn't been wasted.

It even tripled.

"Besides this, what other functions does it have?"

"This artifact boosted my mental strength by a full 1000 points, which is 100 points higher than the Sun artifact in the Water God sequence," Elena said.

Li Wei nodded. It was indeed very good, on par with his own elemental proof artifacts. You really do get what you pay for.

"In addition, a special talent was born, which manifested the phenomenon of a giant tortoise within the testing crystal ball. I call it the [Tortoise God Body]. However, it was not long after it appeared that it was fused and absorbed by the [Water God Body]."

Elena showed the crystal ball to Levi.

But on the sea surface representing the child of the water element, the blue-robed water god's phantom stood barefoot on the head of a giant tortoise, gazing at the surging waves!

This reminded Li Wei of a line: "Facing the eastern Jieshi, gazing at the vast sea in the distance."

"Your current Water God Body has exceeded the norm. Perhaps you could change your name to 'Viewing the Vast Ocean'."

"Viewing the Vast Ocean? What a beautiful and poetic name."

"Um, it's actually the name of a poem."

Who wrote it?

"I."

I have serious doubts.

After complaining about Li Wei, Elena excitedly showed off her newly born companion spirit, only to see waves crashing and the ocean surging in an instant.

A blue tortoise phantom, about ten feet long, appeared around Elena, its surface flowing with thick, glue-like blue heavy water.

"This is a companion spirit. Don't be fooled by its small size and lack of combat power; it has extremely strong defense. I've tested it in the Nightmare World."

Within the organization, those who are not at level nine are virtually invincible; their defenses are almost impossible to break in a short time, making them an excellent shield on the battlefield.

Li Wei said, "That's good, we can call it [Tidal Sea Spirit]."

In his opinion, this Sun-shaped artifact, in terms of defensive power alone, should be top-tier, bringing the advantages of the marine faction to their fullest potential.

"By the way, what's your current level of mental strength?"

"It's almost 20,000."

"Alright, for now, focus on consolidating your spiritual power. Don't refine any rare items or soul stones for the time being. With your current lifespan, just proceed steadily. Focus on studying spells and potions to increase your knowledge base."

"Uh-huh."

Whether it's the three-part clone or Elena, in terms of enhancing mental strength, they don't need to work as hard as other wizards.

If they adopted that reckless, greedy, and aggressive method of cultivation involving pure drug use, Li Wei, with his resources and methods, could easily have their spiritual power surge dramatically.

However, the final result of such an approach could be severe, leading to demonic possession and the explosion of one's primordial soul; or milder, it could result in a unstable spiritual realm and disordered mental energy, like a balloon bursting with water, causing all existing mental energy to dissipate.

Therefore, Li Wei always emphasized the stability of mental strength. This means that a wizard needs to have a foundation of will, intellect, perseverance, experience, and knowledge that matches their mental strength to build a stable pool that can hold water steadily.

This is very important; there are bloody lessons to be learned from it.

Because the Ancient Dragon Continent possesses an abundance of rare and precious artifacts, for some geniuses or supernovas, as long as they are willing to work hard and are exceptionally talented, they will not lack methods to directly enhance their spiritual power. There have been instances where individuals consumed too many treasures exceeding their cultivation level in a short period, causing their spiritual power to explode and resulting in their death.

Therefore, the Ancient Dragon Continent encourages every wizard to have a specialty. This could be medicine making, card making, artifact crafting, magic array making, or any other skill. The goal is to allow wizards to strengthen their spiritual energy reservoir through these skills in their spare time.

……

Time goes by.

In the blink of an eye, another three years have passed.

Nora, 1555.

A bloody battle that lasted 1443 years.

With the demons subdued, Nora finally had a brief respite and a chance to catch her breath. But no one, whether high-ranking or low-ranking, dared to relax too much, since the Bloodbath Demon army was still stationed in the Dark Lands.

Their temporary truce is a prelude to await further support from the Abyss and to continuously amass military strength. It is foreseeable that a super war far exceeding the three previous total wars will inevitably erupt in the near future.

Although Amon's appearance dispelled the rumors of his demise, some conspiracy theorists, or those brainwashed by the Council of All Races, continue to create panic among the people.

They say Amon's rise is merely a final burst of energy, a spent force. He will most likely perish a thousand years from now. But for the Abyss, a thousand years is but a fleeting moment.

When that time comes, the Abyss will surely send out a military force several times larger than Nora's to annihilate this emerging super-civilization in a flash.

Hearing these rumors, Li Wei sneered inwardly.

"Is the Council of All Races on the verge of collapse, so they can only resort to creating panic to undermine Nora? I'll go into seclusion for a while longer, and once my main breathing technique reaches the mid-ninth level, I can go and meet these people."

With his current strength, there are very few in the Council of Myriad Races who can pose a serious threat to him. In fact, most of the level 10 beings in the Pan-Planet are at the early stage of level 10, and there are not many who have reached the middle stage.

As for those who can rival powerful gods at the late stage of level ten, they are extremely rare.

Li Wei's next plan is to hunt demons in Hell and other Bloodbath battlefields to further enhance the Blood Spirit's strength, bringing it close to level ten. Then, with the combined power of him and the Blood Spirit, they should be able to handle early-stage level ten opponents.

The next day.

Li Wei opened the newspaper and saw an important news item.

[Nora Daily: It is reported that a serious internal strife recently occurred within the Council of All Races, with one of the Ancients, the Void Emperor, defecting and disappearing without a trace. This proves that any evil forces attempting to overthrow Nora are nothing but paper tigers and clowns. The enemy crumbled on its own without our intervention.]

Li Wei laughed.

He had always regarded the Council of All Races as a major enemy of Nora, so it turns out that the other side was already on the verge of collapse before the two sides had even officially started fighting.

The departure of the Void Emperor was the fuse. The Council of All Races, already outmatched by Nora, was even less significant. Next, other level-ten powerhouses who weren't plane rulers and could escape would most likely follow suit.

Those rulers bound to different planes are in a much worse situation. However, they probably won't just sit idly by and wait to die; they might try other ways to save themselves. These old beings are all clones and incarnations, so completely annihilating them is actually quite difficult.

Regardless, morale has already collapsed.

The calamity that threatened all races was easily resolved!

……

"My lord, my lord, Lady Naminia has given birth! And it's twins!" A dragon fairy with a flushed face ran up to Levi, panting as she spoke.

"Oh, I'll go take a look."

When Li Wei arrived at the breeding room, he saw two slender, blue giant eggs standing like swords, covered with hard bronze dragon scales.

As for the dragon egg's parents, the couple had already gone to the Nightmare World to practice swordsmanship, a long-standing tradition of the dragon race.

"That's right, they all have vital signs."

Li Wei casually took out two Rebirth Stones.

Although the Underworld Market was closed, Li Wei still managed to open up channels and bought a thousand stones and hundreds of millions of blind boxes from the Underworld in one go.

As for the cost, it's simply supporting the Hell Battlefield for a period of time and hunting down a few level nine demons. For Li Wei, it's a win-win situation.

He wanted to see who the dragon egg was reincarnated from.

Judging from the timeline, both Gustav and Leviathan are possibilities. After some attempts, the Death Stone didn't react, so he consulted Hades.

This minotaur had a good relationship with Li Wei and was doing quite well in the Underworld. His position rose steadily, and his strength also increased significantly. He was almost at the mid-stage of level nine; he must have received some kind of benefit.

Morse laughed:

"Haha, it seems you are unaware that dragon eggs do not meet the conditions for reincarnation shortly after they are hatched. We will only see the results after some time has passed."

"I see, thank you for letting me know."

A month later, Li Wei tested them again. To his great delight, one of the eggs was indeed the reincarnation of Leviathan. The little guy in his previous life was just a half-dragon, but in this life, he was a dragon among dragons. As for the other one, in his previous life, he was a different race from the Immortal Realm, not Gustav.

Nevertheless, Li Wei was quite satisfied.

In reality, this was just psychological comfort for him, since after reincarnation, there was no longer any connection between him and his previous life.

……

This day.

In the Imperial Palace, two figures stood respectfully before Li Wei. They were the brothers, Qing Gui and Qing Mo, both now councilors. They were doing quite well; thanks to these two level-nine experts, the Qinglin Clan was among the top 20 clans in the Norawan Clan.

"Master, what do you want with us?"

Li Wei remained silent, then released the two men from their Black Emperor enslavement. As the domineering restraints disappeared, the two brothers exchanged a glance and immediately knelt on the ground.

"Master, we are absolutely loyal to Nora and to you!"

Just kidding, the Council of All Races is on the verge of collapse. With all-out war breaking out, demons invading en masse, and the multidimensional order broken, they have nowhere left to go in the world except for Nora.

"I know I used some special methods on you before, but it was for your own good. The Seven-Scaled Clan is an extraordinary race and should not be buried in the dust of history. Today, you can make an oath under the sword, and I believe you will make the right choice and will not disappoint me," Li Wei said with a smile.

Feeling as if granted a pardon, the two swore an oath and repeatedly expressed their gratitude. They then returned to the continent of Solon, while Li Wei went to the Nightmare World.

The Nightmare Avatar sat atop the Flesh and Blood Tree of Black Dragon Territory. Beneath the tree, Khorne, who had been sleeping like a puppy beside its master, opened its eyes, its expression bewildered. Then, revealing a similar expression to the Azure Scale brothers, it quickly said:

"Thank you, Dragon King."

"You've worked hard all these years. Take these things and try to advance further as soon as possible, reaching the mid-stage of level nine."

The Khorne ruler finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Like the proverb "the rabbit dies, the hound is cooked; the birds are gone, the bow is put away," these creatures, once enslaved by the Black Emperor, feared nothing more than their master becoming too powerful and eliminating them. Their safe landing now is the perfect ending.

In this way, only nine people remained enslaved.

The others have all been freed.

Li Wei has not yet freed the little spider from the Black Emperor's enslavement in the Florian Realm.

It wasn't that he didn't trust the little guy, but he still needed this contract to maintain remote contact. Once more advanced communication methods became available in the future, it would be free.

Currently, under Amon's leadership, the high-ranking members of the Nora Council are crafting this supreme treasure. Once completed, it will undoubtedly be an artifact even more advanced than the Dark Temple. In the future, Nora citizens will be able to communicate freely when traveling across multiple dimensions.

As for the Red King, its situation is also special. Therefore, it can only wait a while longer until Li Wei comes up with a solution.

……

Two years later.

Nora year 1557.

That year, Li Wei turned 1980.

Beside the small stone pool.

"The 2000th anniversary is coming soon. What kind of birthday present do you want?" Elena asked, leisurely gazing at the sky while soaking in the pool.

"You can prepare whatever you want. Anything you prepare is fine." Li Wei's words were impeccable; he was thinking things through.

"You're so good with words," Elena said with a grin.

She was then pinned down in the pool by Li Wei, and he and Elena frolicked in the small stone pool, engaging in passionate lovemaking. Afterwards, Li Wei, who was devoid of desire, became unusually sharp-minded.

He sent Elena back to cultivate, while he used this time to study the advanced spells of his Nightmare Sequence, achieving twice the result with half the effort and with extremely high efficiency!

"That's great, it truly is the time for the wise."

Li Wei gazed at the sixth-circle spell "Wedding in a Dream" and murmured.

This spell can pull an enemy into a carefully crafted illusion, evoking their most cherished memories, creating a male-female clone made of nightmare power, and then leading them into the grave of marriage.

He became addicted to it, unable to escape, until his death. This spell is a devastating blow to those pure-hearted warriors. For others, however, the effect might be less pronounced. In short, Li Wei was just doing it for fun.

"My Lord, an envoy from the barbarian tribe has arrived."

"Oh, who is it?"

He said his name was Man Kui.

……

Imperial Palace.

A burly, middle-aged man with thick eyebrows and large eyes sipped his refreshing tea, exhaled a breath, and then remarked:

"Good tea, I've had it before in the Tomb Raider world."

Li Wei smiled and said, "Indeed, it is tea from the Ancient Tomb World. What business does Lord Man Kui have with me? You must be the embodiment of the will of Heaven, right?"

The middle-aged man asked, "How did you know?"

"Among the entire barbarian race, besides the will of Heaven, there is probably no one else that I can't see through at all," Li Wei said.

"I am not an incarnation, I am the will of Heaven. In ancient times, before I became the Barbarian Ancestor, I was named Kui," the man said slowly.

"From ancient times to the present... So, senior, you've become a god?"

"You could say that, but I'm different from the ordinary astral gods. In fact, those astral gods are just false gods." The man's face showed some disdain, and it was clear that he didn't have a good impression of the astral realm.

"What do you mean?"

"Do you know when the astral plane was born? Do you know how many eras our multiverse has gone through?"

"I don't know, please enlighten me, senior."

Seeing Li Wei's inquisitive eyes, the middle-aged man instantly became interested. After arriving in Nora, he was impressed by Amon's power and amazed by Li Wei's talent.

He guessed that one of the two men must be connected to Sauron, so he wanted to cultivate a good relationship and, incidentally, test the waters. He had already witnessed Amon's abilities; his visit to Levi was to seek confirmation of some of his doubts.

The long years had allowed him to witness countless things and accumulate endless knowledge. Li Wei's current attitude pleased him greatly, and he was eager to show off a little. He also wanted to break the wizards' stereotype of barbarians as simple-minded and physically strong.

We barbarians are also cultured people!

The middle-aged man took a sip of tea and spoke in a profound and enigmatic manner:

"Before the ancient times, there was the Primordial Era; before the Primordial Era, there was the Dark Era; before the Dark Era, there was the Abyssal Era; before the Abyssal Era, there was the Dark Era; before the Dark Era, there was the Primordial Era; and before the Primordial Era, there was the Chaos Era. Beyond that, there should be no more… or perhaps there were, but no one knows. The further back in time an era goes, the longer its span, so long that, apart from the river of time itself, no one knows exactly how many years it lasted."

Chaos, the Primordial, Darkness, the Ancient, the Dark Ages, the Primordial Era, the Ancient Times, the Prehistoric Era, the Modern Era… These are the nine chapters of the annals of history. I call myself an old man, but I've only lived through the three most recent and shortest chapters.

As for what happened during the chaotic period, I don't know. I think that at that time, there was probably no life. The universe was like an unhatched chick, or a singularity, without the concept of space and time, and everything was nothingness.

The egg then hatched, and something was born; this was the time of the [Primordial Era]. It was at this time that some beings with consciousness emerged.

From our current perspective, they may not be living beings, but rather unconventional life forms, which I will tentatively call "Primordial Spirits".

During this period, the environment was extremely harsh, the earth, fire, wind, and water were chaotic, spacetime was unstable, and the rules were incomplete. Most of the [Primordial Spirits] did not survive this long period and dissipated on their own.

Some of them became cosmic wonders, preserved forever, while others may have become the truth artifacts you wizards speak of... In short, during my travels, I discovered traces of their existence to varying degrees.

Of course, some of them survived.

Then, endless darkness enveloped our universe, ushering in the "Dark Age," and the Dark Land was born.

Actually, I have a bold guess that the Dark Ages were also caused by some powerful [Primordial Spirit], but I have no evidence.

If true, then it is a dark place that contains multiple dimensions within its body, giving birth to countless civilizations and worlds. It may also be some kind of unconventional life form beyond the limits of our imagination.

Upon hearing this, Li Wei seemed to be deep in thought.

He had also had this suspicion before.

This can be seen from several aspects.

First, living beings must overcome the sixth level of calamity, especially the knights' [Dark Calamity]. Second, destroying the world will also bring calamity.

If the Dark Land itself was a primordial spirit that subsequently gave birth to all of this, then all worlds, civilizations, and beings, including Livy, would be part of its vast system. For example, if the world is its cell, then destroying its cell would inevitably trigger the immune system to handle it.

Those extraordinary individuals who defy the heavens to cultivate and plunder resources to strengthen themselves are also "unstable factors" within him. Therefore, at crucial junctures, various calamities will occur to annihilate them, which makes perfect sense.

The middle-aged man continued:

"Of course, this is just my guess. I've always been someone who likes to overthink things, so it might not be true."

Li Wei laughed:

"I think your guess makes a lot of sense."

"Haha, it's a pity Sauron has fallen. Otherwise, it would have been much more interesting to invite him here and discuss things together. With his knowledge and intelligence, perhaps we could have conducted a more thorough investigation and found the key evidence!"

"Yes, what a pity."

Seeing that Li Wei also seemed unaware of Soren's situation, the middle-aged man sighed inwardly, marveling at how well Soren had concealed his abilities. He then said:

"In short, during the Dark Ages, the multiverse we live in today should have begun to take shape, though perhaps not as prosperous as it is now."

Compared to many who cling to their own little corner, I've traveled to many places. I have a question for you: Do you think multiple dimensions have boundaries?

Li Wei recalled the famous quote left by Sauron.

Multiple dimensions, endless wonders.

"I don't know, there probably aren't any, right? Even if there are, it's because our observation capabilities are insufficient to see them."

The middle-aged man shook his head.

"No, I have been to the borderlands of the multiverse. It is a dark place. No matter how far you go, you can't see any world at all. There is only endless void and chaotic earth, fire and wind."

I saw a faint light in the distance, being enveloped by an ever-expanding darkness. I believe that the multiverse has boundaries, and the Dark Land continues to grow and expand, just like Nora is now.

What that light was, I have no idea.

I suspect it might be another universe, you know what I mean? A world completely different from ours.

"I understand."

He understood all too well; he and Sauron came from another universe. They were true outsiders…transmigrators. It seemed that if they could traverse the Dark Lands and reach the border, there was hope of returning to Earth?

Although Li Wei didn't want to go back, driven by curiosity, he still asked, "Senior, have you ever tried to enter other universes? That must be very interesting."

The man chuckled softly.

"I'm not stupid. How could I dare to go to such an unfamiliar place? Besides, at the edge of the Dark Land, spacetime is in utter chaos. That white light doesn't seem far from me, but even if I flew for ten thousand years, I still wouldn't be able to touch it. Let alone level ten, even level eleven might not be able to get there."

"All right."

Seemingly remembering something, the man asked again, "I've recently learned that the Endless Sea suffers from three calamities: sea monsters, windstorms, and... mirages. The first two are natural phenomena, but have you ever witnessed a mirage?"

"You've seen it before, senior?"

"Yes, because this thing isn't only found in Nora. It also exists in a certain sea area of our Azure Sky Continent, which we call... the Ruins of Return. I've seen it in many places I've traveled to. I suspect that this thing might be a node connecting to other universes."

Upon hearing this, Li Wei's heart was stirred.

During one of his tribulations, he was once drawn into a mirage by the Dark Tribulation, where he witnessed many bizarre and fantastical things that were both real and illusory.

They even saw their parents, who were actually monsters, and their own home. There was also that door that glowed white, and behind it, a familiar city.

He had a strong feeling that if he stepped out, he might return to his former world. However, his reason told him that this was probably a mirage, a psychological suggestion, or an illusion. Besides, he didn't want to go back.

But now, combined with what Heaven says.

That mirage is probably more than just an illusion. That thing might be the connection point between many universes, including the one between himself and Sauron.

Could it be that I and Sauron were actually brought here by a mirage?

Or rather, Sauron came through this, and then what means did he use to bring himself over as well?

If that's the case, then the "outsiders" in the multiverse might not just be Sauron and himself; there might be other beings who happened to arrive, but they're all dead.

Li Wei estimated that the Dark Land had activated the mirage calamity to send him back to his original universe, because his existence had disrupted the balance that it, as the creator of the multiverse, wanted to maintain.

Unfortunately, he just wouldn't leave!

Therefore, I need to be careful from now on, lest I get caught up in a mirage again, and then I might not be able to come back.

Just kidding, he's been a superhuman for two thousand years. Who would want to be a corporate slave in that boring modern civilization? Here, he's the boss! Over there, without superhuman abilities, he'd just be a lamb to the slaughter, destined for a short life without freedom.

The man naturally noticed Li Wei's emotional fluctuations.

His gaze was calm, and then he smiled:

"It seems you've also witnessed mirages."

"indeed."

The man didn't say anything; he continued:

"In short, the foundations we know now and the basic structure of the universe were formed during the Dark Ages. Before that, whether it was chaos or the beginning, there were no living beings in the true sense."

Therefore, the biggest lie of the astral gods is exposed. Even the strongest one is not qualified to create the world, let alone the other gods. They are nothing but a group of astral parasites who came later. What gods are there in this world?

If we consider the Dark Land as the most powerful primordial spirit, then during the subsequent Dark Ages, other beings quietly gestated and transformed within it. One of these was called the [Abyssal Worm], or the [Chaos Worm], or the [Devourer]. It constantly devoured the matter within the Dark Land to strengthen itself; it possessed self-awareness, yet it was also extremely chaotic.

It is the Abyss. Unlike Nora, the Abyss was not created by the Dark Land; it is itself an unconventional life form.

If you could view the abyss from a distance, you would see that it really does resemble a fat worm. Initially, I wasn't entirely sure of my guess, but after being trapped there for a thousand years, I became increasingly convinced that I was right.

Within this worm, countless Abyssal Worms were born, and through endless plunder and slaughter, they gradually bred demons.

Li Wei nodded. This was the same content he had learned in his early Abyss General Knowledge course. In some demonic lands polluted by demonic energy over a long period, abyssal worms would eventually emerge, gradually differentiating into various demons. For example, the demons in the Dragon Ruins Ghost Realm originated in this way.

The man continued:

"So, in a sense, demons are indeed the oldest beings in the multiverse, even older than the gods. Over countless ages, the Abyss has continuously devoured worlds and living beings, giving birth to the so-called Abyss Layers and a complete demon ecosystem. Sauron should have reached the 666th layer, but was stopped by the Chaos Servant. What lies beyond the 666th layer, perhaps no one knows except the Abyss."

Upon hearing this, Li Wei suddenly asked:

What is the relationship between the Will of the Abyss and the Abyss itself?

"I'm not entirely sure either. In my humble opinion, the 'Primordial Spirits' are a group that appeared too early. Although they are innately powerful, they lack the characteristics of ordinary living beings. Therefore, they exist somewhere between living and dead, similar to the consciousness that was conceived after the birth of various worlds in the multiverse."

The Will of the Abyss is likely some kind of personality or consciousness aggregate that evolved from the Abyss. In short, such beings are often unable to act proactively and can only influence the world through other indirect means.

That makes sense.

"The long period of time during which the abyss rose and expanded is known as the [Ancient Abyss Era], where devouring and slaughter are the absolute main themes."

In the early multiverse, death was everywhere. For the Dark Land, it was like a parasite constantly eating away at its flesh and blood, but it was unable to cut through its flesh and blood, break its bones, and pull it out.

But it certainly wouldn't sit idly by. I once ventured deep into the Underworld and discovered some clues. I reasonably surmise that, in order to solve this problem, the Dark Lands devised a way to support another [Primordial Spirit] residing within its own body. This is the [River of Death], the [River of Order], and the [Reincarnator].

This is the present-day [Netherworld Mother River]. The so-called Netherworld is essentially a river that has spread across multiple dimensions.

It exists in a dimension invisible to ordinary people, where life forms that control the cycle of life and death are born. On one hand, they restrain the abyss; on the other hand, they transform death into new life, endlessly repeating the cycle.

Under this mechanism, aside from primordial spirits similar to those in the Dark Lands, and those associated with them, normal multidimensional life forms, whether barbarians or wizards, forever teeter between life and death.

This is the way of balance, the way of order!

After the [Ancient Era], the world's格局 (geju, a concept encompassing both the physical and mental aspects of the universe) is much closer to our present state, but two figures have yet to appear: [Nightmare] and [Astral Plane]. Their trajectories are actually quite similar to those of [Abyss] and [Netherworld]. Ultimately, it all boils down to the power struggles among the [Primordial Spirits] after the beginning of chaos.

In search of something, I once traveled to the Nightmare World. After examining and studying it, I named its true form the [Mother of Red and Black] or the [Mother of Terror]. It should be the [True Insight].

This primordial spirit feeds on negative emotions such as fear. Through dreams and other means, it allows countless beings to witness the "true face" of the world: darkness, bloodshed, slaughter, death, and ruthlessness. In doing so, it amplifies the negative emotions of these beings, causing them to grow rapidly in the ancient era.

Didn't you notice?

Those flesh-and-blood mother trees scattered throughout the nightmare world, those flesh-and-blood boundary mountains, resemble the structure of some kind of life form. We are too insignificant, blinded by a single leaf. The nightmare world is different from the abyss; it exists only in the spiritual dimension. Therefore, no one can stand from God's perspective to view this world. If we could transcend all of this and see its whole picture, perhaps we would find that I was right.

For the Dark Land, the nightmare world that spreads fear is also an unstable factor within its body. Therefore, following its previous experience, it has supported another primordial spirit, which can be considered the other extreme of the nightmare world. This spirit also rose rapidly in the Primordial Era and became the other extreme of the universe.

Li Wei murmured, "The Star Realm!"
