It's just that they have money.

How to spend a day in 2019?

After Fang Chen finished speaking, he picked up his coffee, took a sip, and remained calm.

Ivy's fingers tightened slightly as she gripped the pen, and her lips twitched.

She took a deep breath and quickly scribbled down a few keywords in her notebook.

Warm and cozy without being cluttered, simple yet not cold, warm colors without being oppressive, balancing social and private spaces.

After finishing writing, she looked up at Fang Chen: "Mr. Fang, do you know roughly what your words would be equivalent to in design language?"

"What?" Fang Chen didn't understand design.

"It means that when you go to a restaurant and order a dish, you want it to be both spicy and sweet, both light and rich, and it can't be too salty or too bland."

But Fang Chen knows how to cook.

"Both Kung Pao Chicken and Shredded Pork with Garlic Sauce meet the criteria."

Ivy's vision went black again.

She put her pen on the table, crossed her arms, and said, "It's not that it can't be done, but it needs time to work things out. Your desire for so many things is essentially your anxiety before you see a concrete solution, which I understand."

Fang Chen didn't speak, but gestured for her to continue.

Seeing that he didn't object, Ivy softened her tone and picked up her pen again: "How about this, I'll draft a plan first, to set the overall spatial layout. We can fine-tune the color scheme, materials, and atmosphere after you've seen the 3D renderings. If you feel anything is wrong, we'll revise it line by line."

"Okay." Fang Chen nodded.

He was basically satisfied with Ivy's idea, but Fang Chen really had no idea about it. Only when the first draft was released would he know what he liked and disliked.

Ivy added, "Also, I need your cooperation in doing something with me."

"What is it?"

"After you go back, think carefully about how you spend your 24 hours a day in this house. Not how you want to spend it, but your actual living habits. For example, what time do you get up in the morning? Is the first thing you do after getting up the curtains or go to the bathroom? Do you prefer someone to be with you when you cook or do you prefer to chop vegetables quietly by yourself? Do you prefer to curl up on the sofa and watch movies on weekends, or do you prefer to sunbathe and daydream on the balcony? And so on."

She paused, her tone softening slightly: "These details are more effective than saying 'I want it all' a hundred times over."

Fang Chen was silent for a few seconds, then nodded and said to Xu Wen, "You'll stay with me for the next two days and record these details."

Personal assistants are supposed to do these kinds of tedious little things on a daily basis.

Xu Wen was surprised by the request, but after thinking for a moment, he nodded without saying anything.

"Okay, that's enough for today?"

Ivy shoved the drawings and notebook back into her backpack without even zipping it up properly before standing up. "I'll go back and work through the floor plan first, and come up with a conceptual design within three days. Then I'll arrange to meet you to see it."

"Okay." Fang Chen also stood up.

Ivy slung her bag over her shoulder, took a couple of steps, then turned back, pulled a business card from her pocket, and handed it to him: "I almost forgot, this is my business card. It has my phone number and email address on it, and you've already added me on WeChat. Feel free to contact me anytime, even in the middle of the night; I'll reply as long as I'm awake."

Fang Chen took the business card and glanced at it—it only had the two words "Ivy" and a phone number on it, no title, no company name, as simple as a sticky note.

"Where's your studio?" Fang Chen asked.

Ivy grinned: "I'm my own studio, I'm off!"

After saying that, Ivy waved goodbye and turned to leave.

After she walked out of the store, Xu Wen, holding his notebook, asked, "Regarding the budget... is it really unlimited? If Ivy's quote is too high, do I need to approve it?"

Fang Chen's lips curled up slightly: "The review will definitely be conducted. Apart from the design, the selection criteria for other items like home appliances and furniture are based on whether I like them or whether they are worth the price. Other than that, there's no need to consider them. As for the budget ceiling, let's say ten million. As long as it doesn't exceed that amount, it's fine."

He still has over ten million yuan in hand, so he's not worried as long as he doesn't overspend in the early stages.

If the project is delayed due to budget issues, additional investment can be made once new revenue is available.

For Fang Chen now, money is not a problem.

Xu Wen nodded: "Understood."

Then she suddenly remembered the task that had just been assigned to her: "Should I start recording now?"

"sure."

Fang Chen nodded, took out his phone, and sent a message to Luo Shanshan: "Coach, are you free at 2 PM?"

After sending the message, he felt it was too abrupt, so he added an emoji.

The other end quickly replied: "I'm in the shop, you can come now [knock on the door]".

"Oh? The coach has a new student?"

"No, if I had, I would have let you change the time [grinning face]"

"Then I'll go after lunch."

Fang Chen put away his phone and said to Xu Wen, "Let's go eat first."

The two left the coffee shop and got into Fang Chen's car.

Before the car even started, Xu Wen took out his notebook and began to write carefully: "It's 11:05 a.m. You've just finished your meeting with designer Ivy and decided to go to a restaurant for lunch."

Fang Chen glanced at her, said nothing, started the car, and drove towards Zhang Wen's restaurant.

"What would you like to eat?"

"I'm fine with anything," Xu Wen replied, while noting in his notebook: "11:08 AM, inquire about lunch options, and delegate the decision-making power to subordinates."

Fang Chen unlocked his phone and handed it to Xu Wen: "The menu at the restaurant we're going to changes every day. I just asked the owner what they have today, so I know what I want to eat. You can decide for yourself what you want to eat."

Xu Wen took the phone and made a note before ordering: "11:09 AM, let your subordinates choose the dishes first."

"..."

"You don't need to remember so many details." While waiting at a red light, Fang Chen couldn't help but say to Xu Wen, "Or, you don't need to tell me what you've written down."

Xu Wen then closed his laptop and handed the phone back to Fang Chen: "Okay."

A short while later, Fang Chen parked the car and opened the door to the dining room.

Zhang Wen was busy in the kitchen when he heard the noise and poked his head out: "Oh, you're here? Bringed your girlfriend today?"

"Our new assistant," Fang Chen casually introduced. "Xu Wen. This is Brother Zhang, and this is his wife."

Sister Li came out from the inner room, smiling as she looked Xu Wen up and down: "You're a really pretty girl."

Feeling a little shy after being praised like that by a stranger, Xu Wen smiled and nodded.

Fang Chen sat down by the window, and Xu Wen sat opposite him, placing his laptop on the table.

"You didn't remember?" Fang Chen asked.

"I'll remember, but I won't let you see it or hear it," Xu Wen said confidently.

Fang Chen couldn't help but chuckle.

While waiting for the food, Xu Wen asked, "Will I need to coordinate with that fitness coach in any way later?"

"No need, but you can work out if you want."

Xu Wen nodded without asking any further questions.

But there was an extra line in her phone's notes.

"Luo Shanshan, fitness instructor, relationship status: service only."
