You are a cat demon

You were born in the spring of 2923.

That day was the Awakening of Insects. Accompanied by a clap of thunder from the ground, five little cat demons were born in a hidden mountain cave.

You are the third of the five little cat demons, and the only one who is entirely black. It is said that the child in the middle is the most easily overlooked, but your mother is very responsible and treats you all equally. Perhaps it is because it is her first time being a mother and she can't bear to part with any of her children.

There's an old saying: "In a litter of cats, there are always one or two that aren't normal." That's right, you're the most abnormal one.

You were different from your brothers and sisters from the moment you were born. You were exceptionally active, unusually restless. While the other kittens were obediently nursing in their mothers' arms, you liked to crawl around everywhere, forcing your mother to carry you back time and time again. Moreover, you might forget later that when you were less than a week old, before your eyes were even open, you had already accomplished the feat of crawling to the entrance of your burrow all by yourself.

However, after you opened your eyes, you were like a cat that changed overnight. You changed from an active cat to a quiet cat, rarely playing with your brothers and sisters. You spent your days staring blankly at the sky at the entrance of the cave. Except for eating and sleeping, you basically sat in the same place all day without moving an inch.

The kitten demons, already awake and learning to walk, are all very lively and active. One day it's the eldest knocking over the second, the next it's the fourth biting the fifth until they cry out, and the day after that the second and fifth team up to chase the fourth all over the place. At this stage, the kitten demons' claws and teeth are still very immature; even if they really fight, they can't cause much damage, so their mother lets them play freely. This kind of roughhousing is something every kitten demon goes through, and it prepares them for future hunting lessons.

But you just can't get along with the cat demons who are the same age as you.

In your world, there is only you and your cat.

In those chase-and-bite games, there's always a pitiful little guy. The weakest of them all, the fifth one, is always bullied to the point of disorientation by the other cat demons. For some reason, it runs straight towards you, probably hoping you, its older brother, will protect it. You don't want to get involved in this pointless game, ignoring its pleas and staring blankly at the sky. Finally, the game ends when Mother returns with her prey, and it's time for you to eat.

You know very well, yet at the same time, you don't.

From the moment you were born, there seems to be a blurry figure in your mind. You don't know who it is, nor do you know why it remains in your mind.

You crawled futilely in that endless darkness, unable to escape the shadows. Your eyelids felt like they were glued on, impossible to open. Yet you could clearly feel him, you could sense him, but you didn't know where he was…

It felt as if someone was gently licking my eyelids.

You finally opened your eyes, revealing your beautiful golden eyes. You saw your mother standing in front of you, licking your forehead again and again, then moving on to the next one. The sleepy little cat demon murmured in dissatisfaction, like a dream.

Later, as you grew older, you could see less and less clearly.

Whenever you gaze at the distant sky, you feel as if your heart is sinking into the ocean like a stone. You seem to be trying to grasp something; there's an emptiness in your heart, but you don't know what you're missing, or what you need to fill…

You seem to have forgotten something.

Oh, Mother is back again. Tonight's dinner is a rabbit.
