Upon hearing Hammer's command, Baron burst forth from the darkness, wielding a three-meter-long broadsword. His body was engulfed in flames, making him appear like an invincible war god. He cleaved three or four cavalrymen in two along the way.

Rhodes was surprised that Baron could use the Mo Dao, a weapon used by infantry, on horseback.

And this was the first time Baron had used this weapon in actual combat, and he never expected it to be so powerful.

A cavalryman raised his lance and charged at Baron. Baron used his longsword to lift the cavalryman's lance and knock him off his horse.

"Retreat!" the lead cavalryman shouted the order, and the other cavalrymen turned their horses around and left the town through the gate.

Hammer did not order a pursuit, knowing it would be futile.

After giving an order to treat the wounded, he rode his horse toward Rhodes and his men.

"Weber, go and check on the situation at the castle. I'll then decide whether to take these soldiers to the rescue or retreat," Hammer said.

Weber nodded and rode his horse toward the castle. "I'll go with you," Rod shouted, riding after Weber.

The town was right next to the castle, and Rhodes and his companions soon arrived at the castle.

Corpses were scattered around the castle gate, some human, some horse-drawn, all killed by arrows.

Rhodes was caught up in the atmosphere and wanted to shout, but he was a little embarrassed. As a time traveler, he didn't have the same deep feelings for the Kingdom of Nord as Baron and Hammer.

For them, it was about protecting their homeland; for Rhodes, it was just an ordinary battle that could even have been avoided.

Baron and Hammer charged toward the cavalry below the city walls, shouting "Long live Nord!"

The opposing cavalry charged at them; there were at least fifty of them, while their side, including Rhodes and his men, had less than forty.

If Rhodes were in command, he would choose to create an effect of "seeing enemies everywhere," making the enemy unaware of how many people were on his side and causing them to believe that a large number of reinforcements had arrived before retreating.

Although the last cavalrymen were able to move, they could not attack the Nord infantry who were surrounded by other cavalrymen, so they turned around and chased after Baron.

Only Rhodes, who had been at the back, dared to rush forward. He felt that if he acted rashly and charged with Baron and the others, he might be killed before he could kill a single enemy.

After getting caught in the melee, he was able to take down at least a dozen people with his martial arts skills and dragon scale armor.

As for Weber, he has been staying with the infantry, and we don't know how he is doing now.

Rhodes circled around to the back of the cavalry caught in the battle, dismounted from his traveling horse. He had no experience in mounted combat, so he was better off fighting on foot.

He raised his two-handed sword and joined the battle. The cavalrymen who were drawn into melee combat found it inconvenient to use their lances, so they all switched to one-handed swords and shields.

Rhodes, positioned on the outermost edge of the battle group, managed to kill several men thanks to his larger attack range compared to the cavalrymen wielding one-handed swords.

"Dismount!" The cavalry commander realized that in the chaotic battle where horses could not move, riding on their warhorses would only put them at a disadvantage.

Infantry surrounded by warhorses and crowds are more agile than cavalrymen riding immobile horses.

Rhodes was completely unable to assess the situation on the battlefield. He circled around to the enemy's rear alone, while his comrades were in front of him. As long as he could keep moving forward, he was on his way.

He felt short of breath, surrounded by tall warhorses and enemies, making it difficult for him to breathe. However, he could see the tall Hammer wielding his warhammer and fighting bravely.

These cavalrymen were not trained in teamwork after dismounting, unlike the bandits they encountered last time who were able to help defend against attacks when their comrades attacked.

The cavalryman's one-handed sword could only leave a mark on Rhodes's dragon scale armor.

"Put in a little more force," Rhodes challenged.

The surrounding cavalrymen cursed him incessantly. Rhodes raised his two-handed sword and slashed at one of the cavalrymen, who raised his shield to block. Nearby cavalrymen took the opportunity to attack Rhodes, but Rhodes only feinted and did not strike the man's shield.

With a swift backhand slash, Rhodes severed the head of a cavalryman who was preparing to strike him with his sword, blood splattering everywhere and staining Rhodes' face.

Rhodes dodged a sword aimed at his neck by sidestepping, and then thrust his sword at the jaw of a cavalryman, his two-handed sword emerging from above his head.

Drawing his longsword, Rhodes unleashed another backslash, his twin swords clashing against the shield of a cavalryman with a deafening roar.

"Long live the Empire!" the cavalryman shouted, thrusting his one-handed sword into Rhodes' abdomen.

Rhodes grabbed the cavalryman's one-handed sword with his gloved hand and used his other hand to slice him in half diagonally from the shoulder.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, the last cavalryman beside him thrust his sword into a gap in the dragon scale armor. The tip of the sword got stuck inside, and the blade rubbed against the plates of the dragon scale armor. He used all his strength to barely manage to pierce the sword into Rhodes' muscle.

Rod used the Taizu Long Fist technique to turn around and punch him in the face. The cavalryman's helmet was dented, and the iron pieces on the helmet, smashed by the fist, pierced into his flesh, and blood kept flowing out from the gaps in the helmet.

The cavalryman roared and thrust his sword further into Rhodes' body. Rhodes endured the pain and used his two-handed sword to stab the cavalryman in the chest. The sword pierced through the cavalryman's body, and Rhodes lifted the fully armored cavalryman up with the sword.

Rhodes twisted hard, pulling out the longsword. The cavalryman fell limply to the ground. He tried with all his might to raise his hand to touch the one-handed sword still stuck in Rhodes' body, but in the end, it fell limply to the ground again.

Rhodes grinned, drew his sword, and strode into the blood-soaked two-handed sword, heading towards the even more gruesome battle...
