The Growth Story of Chenxi Boy
Chapter 4 Apeng and the Monkey
Having received the money, Ah Dong and Xu Yi turned into Xiyuan Milk Tea Shop—their usual hangout. Ah Dong ordered a hamburger and chicken leg combo for Xu Yi, and one for himself, also getting a milk tea and a small plate of grilled skewers for the strategist sitting next to him. The other two ate heartily, the grease and steam filling the air, while Xu Yi tapped his fingertips lightly on the table, a dull ache in his heart: Should he return this money to Chen Xichuan's grandmother? Receiving such a favor for nothing made him feel uneasy, like carrying a warm stone in his heart. But after several rounds of thought, he couldn't resist the steaming food before him. He sighed softly, "Never mind, I'll fill my stomach first."
The three were enjoying their meal when the shop door was gently pushed open, and a figure leaned casually against the door.
The man had a long face, short hair, and a school uniform that hung loosely on his body. He had a nonchalant and roguish air about him, and his lips were slightly pursed. His expression was utterly smug.
"Hey, Nishikawa, playing games here, eating well? Where are my two sausages?"
As soon as he finished speaking, his gaze was fixed on Ah Dong, and he reached out to slap his phone screen. Ah Dong turned his head to dodge, but the man's hand landed on his head, his face full of "come and hit me" provocation, blatantly arrogant.
Ah Dong didn't even turn his head, nimbly dodging left and right, his tone lazy: "Oh dear, I'm out of money, this meal will leave me penniless."
"Damn it, you have the nerve to eat all you want when you don't have any money? Don't you know to pay me back first?" The other person immediately raised their voice, looking completely self-righteous.
Ah Dong also adopted a nonchalant attitude, a smirk playing on his lips, his eyes full of shrewdness: "So what? I'll pay you back next time, it's not like I'm not going to pay you back, what's the rush?"
"I think you've been itching for a beating for days. I'll show you what the wickedness of society is like in a bit."
Before he could finish speaking, taking advantage of Ah Dong's distraction while staring at the screen, he swiftly snatched the chicken leg that Ah Dong had just taken a bite of, took a big bite, and in a few quick movements, only a bare bone remained. His actions were arrogant and efficient.
Ah Dong panicked instantly, his eyes widening in pain and helplessness: "Damn it, I haven't even eaten much of my chicken leg yet! Fine, you can eat the chicken leg, I won't pay you back."
"I don't care. Paying back debts is a matter of course." The man chewed on his meat, his words muffled but firm. "This chicken leg is interest, but you still have to pay back the money."
The strategist and Xu Yi couldn't stand it any longer. After all, Ah Dong had hosted the meal, and they felt obligated to help out. The strategist stood up and tried to smooth things over, saying, "Hey, we're all classmates, why push him so hard? Give him two more days; he just got his money these past two days."
"You don't need to worry about it, I'll take care of him today." The man waved his hand, his face brooking no argument, and was about to go over and disturb Ah Dong's game again.
Ah Dong and Xu Yi were playing together, but this interruption caused their gameplay to frequently go awry. Xu Yi's brows furrowed deeper and deeper, her gentle patience slowly wearing down to anger. Finally, she couldn't help but speak, her voice calm yet carrying an undeniable firmness:
"Stop bothering him. I'll pay the money back for him. He treated me to this meal, so I'll pay it back as a way of returning the favor."
The man was taken aback, then glanced sideways at Ah Dong and sneered, "You have money to treat others to dinner, but don't you know to pay back the money first? Have you no shame?"
After saying that, he turned to Xu Yi, a hint of amusement in his eyes: "Not bad, you're quite loyal. Brother, what's your name?"
"Xu Yi".
"Huangpu Hong, just call me Apeng." He grinned, revealing a touch of youthful spirit. "My specialty is playing with monkeys."
After saying that, Huangpu Hong moved to the side and watched with great interest as Xu Yi and Ah Dong played games.
But less than four minutes later, the base crystal shattered, and the screen went completely dark.
"It's all your fault!" Ah Dong slammed his phone on the table, his cheeks puffed out in anger. "If you hadn't messed things up, we would have won already!"
"If you're bad at the game, practice more. Why blame others when you lose? Look at your record, 1-4. You have the nerve to say that? I don't care, blame yourself," A-Peng retorted without any politeness.
Xu Yi spoke up calmly from the side, her tone tinged with a hint of defiance: "From what you're saying, you think you're so great?"
Huangpu Hong puffed out his chest, looking confident: "Of course, I'll carry you, victory guaranteed."
Do you have a cell phone?
"have."
"That's perfect, let's have the three of us play a game together."
At this moment, the strategist, who had been holding back for a long time, finally couldn't help but speak up, his tone filled with a mix of grievance and anticipation: "Ah Dong, isn't it my turn to play now? You promised me that after this last round, I could play all day."
Ah Dong looked annoyed and shook his head like a rattle: "No, no, wait a little longer. I've already treated you to food today, so we have to make up for some of the time we spent playing."
"Haha, Nishikawa, you're still so annoying." Huangpu Hong laughed so hard he almost fell over.
"Stop talking nonsense and start driving."
Soon, the three of them took their seats. Xu Yi played mid lane, Ah Dong played top lane, and Ah Peng played jungle.
I thought this game would go smoothly, but less than three minutes into the game, our team's score was abysmal—0-4. Ah Dong alone gave away two kills, and only Xu Yi had a positive score in the whole team.
Xu Yi opened the economy panel, her brows furrowing instantly, her tone full of confusion and anger: "Seriously, what are you guys doing? Why didn't the jungler gank us this time?"
He glanced at A Peng's equipment inventory and almost laughed in anger—the jungler had built a bright red jungle item without any transitional items; it was pure nonsense.
Xu Yi felt a surge of anger rising within her, and she wished she could rush over right then and there and give A Peng, who was leisurely drinking milk tea at the door, a good beating.
The game was full of ups and downs, but after twelve minutes, the crystal exploded again.
Xu Yi finally lost her temper, her voice rising several decibels: "Seriously, what god taught this monkey to do that? What normal person can just unleash a massive red blade in three minutes without doing anything else? Didn't you say you could fly? Where did that go?"
Huangpu Hong looked completely unconcerned, even a little smug, and said with a grin, "Hey, tell me, hasn't the other side taken off yet?"
One sentence left Xu Yi speechless with anger.
No sooner had he finished speaking than Apeng suddenly stood up, walked to Adong's side, raised his hand and slapped Adong on the head, saying in a self-righteous tone: "It's all your fault, you played so badly."
Ah Dong was stunned by the slap and stood there for a few seconds before he reacted. He immediately put down his phone and was about to stand up to argue with him. But Ah Peng was much faster. With a swift turn, he snatched Ah Dong's phone from the table and rushed out.
He hopped on his bicycle, pushed off, and rode away, his irritating shouts still echoing in the wind:
"Let me borrow your phone for a day! It runs way smoother than mine! If you disagree, come and chase me. If you can catch my bicycle, you can have the phone!"
The movements were fluid and smooth, almost impossible to understand.
Ah Dong stood there, stunned, not quite understanding what had happened. His phone was gone in the blink of an eye?
Xu Yi, the strategist, and Ah Dong all froze in their seats, dumbfounded.
"Wow, Dong, your friend is a real genius." Xu Yi was both angry and amused, and the corners of her mouth couldn't help but turn up.
Ah Dong helplessly spread his hands: "Sigh, I've known him since kindergarten. He's always been like this, never serious."
The strategist paced anxiously, his face falling: "No, what am I going to do? I already made plans to play games with my classmates today..."
He had already cursed Huangpu Hong from head to toe countless times in his heart, but there was nothing he could do.
Ah Dong could only shrug: "There's nothing I can do. If all else fails, you can go directly to Huangpu Hong."
The strategist sighed deeply, his face full of disappointment, and could only console himself: "Oh well, let's wait until tomorrow."

He excels at banter and flattery, and there's nothing he's afraid to say or do. Although his verbal skills are slightly weakened later in the story, his early-game output is still phenomenal, making him Ah Dong's nemesis and nightmare.
