One-Punch Man: Boros, the Universe Overlord

Chapter 16: Genos Makes a Grand Entrance

The morning sunlight was just filtering through the curtains when the television in the living room began broadcasting the morning news. The presenter faced the camera with a serious expression.

"Dear viewers, today we're going to discuss a question: what is the reason for the large number of mosquitoes this year? To unravel this mystery, we've invited Professor Kafitch, a mosquito expert who has published many authoritative works."

The scene shifts, and a middle-aged scholar with thick glasses and meticulously combed hair appears on camera. He adjusts his glasses, clears his throat with a serious expression, and says:

"Hello everyone, I'm Professor Kafitch. To start with the conclusion, this year's mosquitoes are a new species. As for what follows... I don't really know either."

"Then get out!" The host broke down, cursing without any regard for his image, and pushed the professor, who was still on camera, away.

"puff--"

Boros, who was enjoying his iced cola with his head tilted back, almost choked when he overheard the broadcast on the television. He coughed a few times and looked at the television in surprise.

"Where did this weird professor come from? Are TV stations this funny these days?" Boros put down his Coke can, somewhat amused.

"...He's a breath of fresh air, isn't he? Seriously, he just admitted he doesn't understand, completely disregarding his reputation? Shouldn't he have started with a bunch of nonsense about 'macro-environment' and 'ecological balance,' and then come to no conclusion at all?"

"Sigh, the news on TV these days is all a mess. Sometimes I just watch it as a comedy. By the way, have you guys noticed a lot more mosquitoes lately?" King asked.

Saitama, reclining casually, picked his nose and said nonchalantly, "No, right? I haven't seen a single mosquito."

"Hmph, of course," Boros said proudly. "You should thank me. The magnetic field I naturally emit is an absolute deterrent to lower creatures. Insects have a very strong sense of danger. With me sitting here, what kind of mutated mosquito would dare to approach me?"

"Don't talk nonsense with such a straight face. Hey, what kind of magnetic field do you have around you? I can't sense it at all." King suspiciously reached out and grabbed at the air in front of Boros.

"Tch, I can't be bothered to explain. You wouldn't understand anyway," Boros said angrily, glancing at King.

"Breaking news!" "Weather satellites have detected a massive swarm of mosquitoes heading towards Z City! Again, a massive swarm! Livestock bitten are turning into mummies within three seconds! If you encounter a similar swarm of mosquitoes outdoors, seek shelter immediately!"

"Hmm? Is today the day Mosquito Girl appears and Genos becomes Saitama's apprentice?" Boros felt this news was somewhat familiar; he seemed to recall seeing a similar scene in an anime he had watched before.

If it were today...

He subconsciously turned his head and glanced at the bald man next to him who was sprawled on the ground picking his nose in a completely unseemly manner. He had been there for several days under the pretext of "taking care of the wounded" and showed no intention of leaving.

"Damn, it really seems to be today!"

"If Genos hadn't run into Saitama today, he would have been dead for sure." Boros recalled the famous scene in the anime where Genos confidently declared his victory, only to be utterly crushed and forced to attempt self-destruction.

"Genos absolutely has to be saved. Even though he can't beat anyone, his willingness to sacrifice himself to protect people shows he's a bright and righteous young man with sound values," Boros thought, quickly turning to Saitama beside him.

"Hey, Saitama, stop daydreaming and get up! Take me to your house, you can show me the way."

Saitama's heart skipped a beat, alarm bells ringing: "What does this one-eyed alien mean? Does he think I've been eating and drinking for free these past few days and is going to kick me out? But this isn't his house, what right does he have to kick me out?"

With his heart pounding, Saitama became hesitant and awkwardly asked in a low voice, "What are you doing, Boros?"

"Oh dear, there's no time to explain, we'll talk about it on the way. Let's hurry and be back!"

Upon hearing that he could return, Saitama immediately breathed a sigh of relief and stopped being coy, standing up right away: "What exactly do you want to come to my house for? Let me make it clear first, there's really nothing of value in my house."

"Hurry up and get on with it."

"You didn't even tell me what you were going to do. What's with all this secrecy?"

"If you dawdle any longer, you'll only be able to visit your apprentice at the junkyard in the future."

"What? When did I get an apprentice? Wait for me! Do you even know the way?"

...........................

On the other side, in Z City

A tall, slender figure stood atop the skyscraper. He had dazzling blond hair, a resolute and cold face, arms encased in sophisticated black-gray metal armor, and rare golden eyes that gleamed with the unique luster of electronic components, coldly gazing ahead.

Genos, the warrior of big budgets, makes his grand entrance.

His expression was icy, his golden eyes fixed on the dark, cloud-covering mass of black clouds not far away—a death army composed of billions of mutated mosquitoes.

At the very heart of the swarm of mosquitoes, an even denser cloud of black mist slowly coalesced. A strange, alluring moan followed: "Mmm~ Ah~"

The once dense and suffocating swarm of mosquitoes seemed to receive some kind of command, dispersing like receding tides, revealing a faint and graceful figure.

She was an extremely beautiful woman.

She had a graceful figure, a beautiful and delicate face, and fair skin that shimmered alluringly in the sunlight. Her full breasts stood tall and firm, and her voluptuous curves exuded the charm of a mature woman. Unfortunately, her body structure contained some inhuman features: compound eyes resembling those of a mosquito formed on the top of her head, and her hands and feet were as grotesque as claws.

It's not that it's impossible?

"Oh my god, how do you guys work?" Mosquito Girl swayed her hips slightly, her voice coquettish.

"This isn't enough at all, let's go get some more fresh ones~"

"Target locked." A cold voice rang out simultaneously.

Before the words had even faded, Genos's right arm cannon spewed out scorching flames, carrying intense heat, and hurtled straight towards Mosquito Girl.

Just as the beam was about to hit her, the Mosquito Girl vanished like a ghost, leaving only a fleeting afterimage that was consumed by the flames.

No injury...

Seeing that the attack had failed, Genos's eyes remained unwavering. He quickly analyzed the situation and said to Mosquito Girl in an icy tone:

"I understand. You command a large number of mosquitoes to suck blood and then enjoy it all by yourself. If you are sending signals to the mosquitoes to manipulate them, that explains why the mosquitoes suddenly migrate en masse and eliminate you, their master. Then these annoying things will naturally disappear."

"Haha?" Mosquito Girl let out a coquettish laugh, then her beautiful face instantly turned icy cold. She extended her sharp claws, pointing them directly at Genos, and commanded sharply, "The meal has been delivered to your door. Drain his blood!"

This might be a Mosquito Girl with a naturally naive personality. After all, anyone with a bit of common sense could see that the only things that could be extracted from Genos's fully mechanically modified body were some high-purity engine oil and coolant; not a single drop of other liquids could be extracted.

The swarms of mosquitoes, like a black tide, instantly engulfed Genos.

"Burn."

Genos's voice stood out clearly amidst the buzzing of the mosquitoes. The next second, a violent burst of flames erupted from him, instantly evaporating the surrounding mosquitoes and filling the air with a burnt smell.

"I'm going to destroy you, stay there and don't move," Genos declared confidently.

"Hmm~ Hmph~ Haha~ You want to destroy me?" Mosquito Girl laughed wildly, her full breasts heaving violently. But in an instant, her laughter stopped abruptly, her beautiful face twisted into a ferocious expression, and her eyes flashed with a savage killing intent.

"Then let's give it a try!!"

She shrieked, the carapace on her back vibrating and emitting piercing high-frequency sound waves. The remaining swarm of mosquitoes, along with her, attacked Genos again as if they had gone mad.

Genos's eyes were cold. The two engines on his shoulders spewed out two blue flames. With a loud bang, the ground collapsed, and his body shot towards Mosquito Girl like a rocket.

A fierce collision erupted in mid-air, and Genos's heavily armored metal fist fell heavily, slamming into Mosquito Girl's face.

Mosquito Girl was not to be outdone. Amidst the chaotic flurry of punches, she seized an opportunity with her ferocious right claw, lashing out and striking Genos hard. The immense impact sent Genos flying, his feet slamming into the cracked pavement, his metal feet embedding themselves deeply into the concrete before he finally regained his footing.

As soon as he regained his footing, Genos raised his metal arm and locked onto the Mosquito Girl in mid-air, his palm accumulating destructive heat: "Incineration Cannon".

Mosquito Girl smiled dismissively. With a slight twist of her slender waist, as if performing, she weaved and dodged through the scorching energy, like an elegant butterfly dancing in the firelight, and teased Genos:

"Idiot, how can such a slow attack possibly work? You're so slow, buddy! Can you speed things up? Can you go any faster? That's more fun, hahaha~"

Accompanied by a melodious laugh, Mosquito Girl suddenly accelerated again, instantly transforming into a black streak of light that passed by Genos, leaving only a fleeting afterimage in the air.

In an instant, accompanied by a piercing metallic tearing sound, Genos's metal-cast mechanical arm was ripped off by Mosquito Girl, and the broken wires sparked with strings of blue electric sparks.

"Hahaha, next time I'll tear off one of your legs!" Mosquito Girl laughed triumphantly, clutching the severed arm. However, before her laughter subsided, her expression instantly turned blank. She looked down, her gaze sweeping over her lower body, and discovered that her lower body, below her thighs, had mysteriously vanished.

"Huh? Where's my leg?" She stared blankly at the empty remains.

Genos, expressionless, casually tossed aside the Mosquito Girl's lower limbs, then steadily raised his remaining metal arm, his cold gaze fixed on the Mosquito Girl in mid-air.

"what?"

She seemed to find the situation a bit tricky and turned to leave.

"Useless," Genos said coldly, casually unleashing another incineration cannon. "Don't even think about escaping my grasp."

Mosquito Girl dodged steadily, glanced down at Genos, and said dejectedly:

"What on earth is this thing? If this keeps up, it'll be killed sooner or later...tsk." As she spoke, she stuck out her pink tongue and gently licked the corner of her lips.

Then his gaze turned to the distant forest, and a sickly flush and greed appeared on his originally pale face.

"Although the humans on the street are all hiding, the animals in the forest are a different story~"

"Come here, my children~" she said, opening her arms wide, her voice alluring and seductive, "Quickly inject all the juice you've sucked into my body, hurry up~"
