One-Punch Man: Boros, the Universe Overlord

Chapter 2: Starting with 1 Vaccine Man

buzzing-

A silver-gray shuttle-shaped spaceship tore through the atmosphere like a sharp blade, and with a series of roars, landed steadily on the wasteland on the outskirts of Z City.

As the hatch slid open silently, a tall figure clad in dark gold armor stepped out.

"Phew... Have we finally arrived on Earth?"

"The air on Earth is still fresher to breathe. But I guess I don't need to breathe to survive anymore."

"Where should we go first? I wonder how far the plot has progressed? Has that 'Invincible Legend' become the Bald Demon King's apprentice yet?"

Boros muttered to himself as he set foot on Earth, a smile spreading across his lips. His menacing fangs were exposed, making him look incredibly ferocious and terrifying, yet also exuding a chillingly beautiful charm.

At that very moment, the prelude to destruction suddenly erupted in the heart of the distant city. A dark shadow descended from the sky with the force to tear the heavens apart, crashing to the ground with a deafening sonic boom. The shockwave instantly ripped a huge rift in the earth, and towering flames and smoke shot into the sky like mushroom clouds, plunging the entire city into an abyss of panic in an instant.

Immediately afterwards, a sharp whistling sound tore through the air, and beams of violent energy poured down from the sky like a meteor shower, crashing heavily onto the earth.

Rumbling--

In an instant, countless skyscrapers collapsed with deafening roars, crisscrossing streets were reduced to scorched earth and ruins, and fragments of reinforced concrete rained down like a storm. Countless lives were lost in the sudden flames. This once-prosperous city was instantly transformed into a living hell.

Although Boros was in the desolate outskirts far from the city, his immense and unparalleled perception allowed him to see the horrific scene in the distance. Heart-wrenching screams, splattered blood, helpless cries of the crowd, and ruins reduced to ashes in an instant—all these sights twisted the face of this former human in an instant.

After all, it was Boros's body. Although it was the first time he had faced such a hellish place, he felt no disgust or fear. Instead, his human soul transformed into a raging fire that completely consumed his body and mind.

"Heh, I never really felt anything when I watched anime like this before. But this horrific 'welcome ceremony' has truly stirred up my murderous intent—right now, I want to punch you to dust."

With that murderous whisper, Boros's towering figure seemed to instantly merge into the air. The next instant, leaving only a visible shockwave ring in his wake, he transformed into a golden streak of light, hurtling towards the heart of the disaster at a speed beyond the limits of visual perception.

"Hahaha! Understand the pain! Feel the pain! You viruses and trash who call yourselves 'humans,' this is the wrath of the Earth's will upon you!"

A maniacal, twisted laugh, accompanied by a terrifying sonic boom, echoed far and wide, shattering all the surrounding glass. At the center of the laughter stood a gigantic, suffocatingly terrifying figure. His entire body was covered in eerie, deep blue skin, and beneath his long, pointed ears, two enormous snail-like tentacles on his head trembled slightly with the maniacal laughter, radiating pure malice.

This is the Dragon-level monster, who claims to be the embodiment of Earth's will—Vaccine Man.

At the feet of his mountain-like body, several heroes lay on the ground like rag dolls, unable to rise.

Among them are renowned A-class heroes like "Lightning Max" and "Smiling Superman," but their prized skills and speed seem utterly laughable in the face of Vaccine Man's absolute power.

In a single exchange, without even a chance to retaliate, he was blasted away by that terrifying force. Now, covered in blood, he was critically injured and on the verge of death, only able to gasp for breath in the ruins.

"Waaah, Mommy, waaah, Daddy, waaah!"

Amidst the city's ruins, a little girl in a long dress somehow miraculously survived. She is now crying helplessly, calling out for her parents, but instead of a response, she is met with the gaze of death.

The heavy footsteps seemed to pound on her soul, approaching slowly and cruelly, step by step. The owner of those footsteps—the Vaccine Man—his massive body was like a moving mountain, and the shadow he cast completely swallowed the girl's faint life force. He stopped in front of the girl, his enormous shadow engulfing her entirely, like the gaping maw of an abyss.

A twisted glee appeared on his face, his mouth stretched to his ears, revealing bloodthirsty fangs. His enormous hand, carrying the power to destroy everything and accompanied by a piercing whistling sound, viciously grabbed at that fragile little body, intending to crush her into mincemeat in an instant.

Just as the enormous arm, carrying a destructive force, was about to touch the little girl's hair, a split second passed.

Sizzle—!!!

The sound was like a massive steel behemoth being brought to a sudden stop on the ground, producing a piercing, teeth-grinding screeching noise.

The Vaccine Man's unstoppable arm, capable of shattering mountains, was abruptly intercepted and pinned down in mid-air! An arm covered with dark gold metallic skin, its five fingers like hooks, gripped the Vaccine Man's thick wrist tightly.

Despite the vast difference in size, at that moment, the golden arm seemed to contain an immense weight and power, remaining completely still and firmly imprisoning the vaccine man's arm in mid-air.

The little girl stopped crying, looking bewildered. She turned around blankly, her eyes brimming with tears, and looked up at the figure that had appeared out of nowhere.

A cold and domineering figure stood calmly atop the ruins. His enormous single eye was fixed on the monster before him with a brutal gaze, devoid of any emotion, only pure killing intent and contempt. He slowly grinned, revealing gleaming white and ferocious fangs, and his deep voice boomed like thunder in the Vaccine Man's ears.

"What are you going to do to this cute little girl?"

"Um?"

The vaccine-carrying man unleashed tremendous strength, trying several times to pull his arm away, but failed. His face darkened as he stared at Boros and asked, "Who are you?"

Boros released his grip, settled the little girl in a safe corner, and then instantly returned.

"Me?" Boros flew slowly, looking down at the monster before him. His cold voice, like that of millennia-old ice, echoed in the air with a suffocating sense of oppression: "I am the ruler of the universe—Boros."

The will of Earth and the cosmic overlord—these two seem to be incomparable...

"Huh?" The vaccine man was clearly taken aback by Boros's domineering title.

Sensing the chilling and destructive aura emanating from Boros, Vaccine Man involuntarily took two steps back. Then, sensing something amiss, he forced himself to take a step forward and said:

"You...you must be a weirdo too, right? If you just want to use this city as your playground, you don't need to fight me for these ants. I can leave and go to another city to 'purify' it, how about that?"

Upon hearing this, Boros tilted his head slightly, a wide grin revealing a mouthful of sharp, white teeth: "Are you afraid of me?"

"Heh... You should be afraid of me... the amusement park? You're not wrong." Boros's voice was deep and filled with murderous intent as he slowly announced the start of this hunt. "However, in this amusement park, you are my only toy."

Upon hearing this, the Vaccine Man flew into a rage. The antennae on his head trembled wildly, his eyes turned bloodshot, and he stared intently at Boros, letting out a thunderous roar:

"You bastard... who do you think I am?! I am an apostle of God, born of the will of Earth! You're just some weirdo who crawled out from some corner. The reason I didn't crush you immediately was because I thought you might be able to wipe out these damned human viruses, so I tolerated you a little! Did you think... this tolerance was because I was afraid of you?!"

This roar seemed to ignite a powder keg, completely unleashing the arrogance within the vaccine developers.

As he spoke, he grew increasingly enraged, and the energy within his body began to surge wildly. His muscles expanded, tore, and reformed as if inflated. His already massive body instantly grew taller, and strange black patterns appeared on his skin. Every muscle seemed to contain explosive power, making him appear even more ferocious and enormous, radiating a suffocating sense of oppression.

"Do you see that? This is my true power!"

The vaccine recipient raised his arms high, feeling the surging power within him, and laughed wildly as he pronounced his sentence.

"Since you, this ignorant ant, insist on obstructing the will of Earth, then I will tear you to pieces! I'll make you understand in your despair the consequences of daring to anger me!"

"Drink it all!!!"

With a deafening roar, Vaccine Man stomped his foot, instantly turning the hard alloy pavement beneath his feet into dust. A massive surge of dark red air erupted from him like a nuclear explosion, whipping up debris and dust that tossed and turned the surrounding ruins. The air pressure suddenly increased, as if an invisible mountain had suddenly descended, making it difficult to breathe. A terrifying aura swept up like a black storm, engulfing everything in its path in the shadow of death.

In an instant, a fierce and overwhelming attack suddenly erupted. Vaccine Man punched with all his might, using both hands and feet, creating countless afterimages. His fists and feet carried tremendous force, constantly bombarding Boros's head, throat, and other vital parts of his body.

Boros remained expressionless, arms crossed, his body motionless. Strangely, the Vaccine Man's attack completely missed, leaving numerous afterimages passing through his body without even touching Boros.

The truth is that Boros evades attacks using agility and mental perception several times greater than Vaccine Man, and instantly returns to his original position after dodging, which is why he appears motionless. Although Vaccine Man is already very fast after transforming, there is still a huge gap between him and Boros.

"So weak, are God's apostles really this weak?"

"Damn it, stop getting cocky."

Seeing that his attacks with his hands and feet were ineffective, Vaccine Man roared and flew into the air. Countless blue energy balls gathered in his hand, and with a powerful wave, the energy balls shot out and landed in the area where Boros was, causing a large explosion and dust.

"Hahaha, you wretched ants, disappear completely!"

The billowing dust obscured visibility. The Vaccine Man hovered in the air, panting, a ferocious and crazed grin spreading across his face. He roared with laughter, "Haha, this energy bombardment! Let's see where you can hide now! Before absolute power, your laughable arrogance has been blasted to pieces!"

"Idiot, you're so weak you can't even break my armor? I thought you'd give me some surprises, but it seems I overestimated you. Time to end this boring battle."

In the epicenter of the explosion, Boros remained standing, unmoved. His dark gold armor gleamed brilliantly in the firelight, without a single scratch or speck of dust. Those energy attacks, powerful enough to destroy a city, hadn't even breached his defenses; Boros was completely unharmed.

"Impossible! How could it be completely ineffective? Oh right, it's your armor! What kind of treasure is your armor that it can..." the vaccine man shouted.

Boros sneered, too lazy to waste any more words on him. He instantly rushed out and arrived in front of Vaccine Man, throwing a punch with his right hand. A strong wind howled and a sonic boom resounded.

There were no fancy moves, no pre-charge animations, just a pure and extreme combination of power and speed. Boros's right fist, covered in dark gold metallic skin, carried a terrifying force capable of shattering rocks. The air was compressed into a substantial shockwave under this punch, emitting a piercing whistle.

The man with the vaccine only saw a flash of golden light before his eyes. Before the afterimage could even settle on his retina, an indescribable sense of impending death enveloped his entire body. He didn't even have time to utter a complete scream before his vision was plunged into eternal darkness.

"Bang!!!"

A deep, muffled explosion that shook the earth erupted.

The vaccine man's massive body exploded instantly, not even having time to assume a defensive stance, before completely disintegrating under the devastating force of the punch. Blood mist and bits of flesh mixed with blue bodily fluids sprayed wildly in all directions under the immense kinetic energy impact, scattering across the ruins and rubble within a radius of tens of meters.

"Ding, absorbable dimensional energy detected, dimensional energy value +85."
