One-Punch Man: Boros, the Universe Overlord

Chapter 30: The Monster Association's Luxurious Lineup

The two arrived at the edge of the no-man's-land in Z City. This place was once a bustling industrial town, but now it was known as a "ghost town," an absolute forbidden zone for the living within a hundred miles. The afterglow of the setting sun cast the broken walls and ruins into a ghostly light, and the air was filled with the smell of rust and decay.

The Hero Association had already erected the highest-level red warning posts here, explicitly prohibiting anyone from entering. Looking around, the vast city was eerily silent, with only a few crows occasionally flying across the gray sky, emitting piercing cries, and even the wind seemed afraid to linger here.

Boros's tall figure appeared particularly imposing against the backdrop of the ruins. He didn't rush in, his cold gaze fixed on the middle-aged man, his tone calm yet undeniably authoritative:

"That's about it. Tell me the exact location?"

The middle-aged man maintained his amiable demeanor, his thick fingers stiffly pointing to the eerie ruins of a building deep within the city. He chuckled dryly, his voice hoarse as if sanding sandpaper.

"It's still a bit of a walk, hehe, it's over there... please follow me."

"No need."

Boros suddenly raised his hand, pointing a finger at the middle-aged man's brow. Before his fingertip even touched him, a powerful and invisible surge of mental energy pierced the man's brain like lightning. It was a brutal yet precise severance—forcibly cutting off the external chain of mental control.

"Ugh!" The middle-aged man convulsed violently, his eyes rolling back suddenly, before regaining his senses in a fit of intense dizziness. He looked around in horror at the devastated ruins and Boros, as if waking from a deep dream, his voice trembling almost cracking:

"Where...where am I? Who are you? Wasn't I sleeping at home? How did I get here?!"

"Go back quickly."

Boros impatiently waved his hand, offering no further explanation. His single, crimson eye locked onto the ruins of a building shrouded in dark clouds at the horizon, precisely the direction the middle-aged man had pointed.

Boros bent his knees slightly, and the hard asphalt road beneath his feet instantly collapsed and cracked, sending debris flying. With a deafening sonic boom, his figure vanished into thin air, leaving only a distorted ripple in the air. Amidst the howling wind, he transformed into a dark golden lightning bolt, traversing several kilometers in the blink of an eye.

The dark golden figure landed steadily in the shadow of the skyscraper, the shockwave it generated sending the surrounding rubble and debris swirling around.

Boros slowly straightened up, the concrete ruins beneath his feet cracking under his weight. His single, scarlet eye narrowed slightly, its tangible blade scanning the surrounding desolate ruins inch by inch.

Sensing the faint killing intent in the air, he showed no sign of tension. Instead, he took a deep breath, a grin spreading across his face, revealing his gleaming white fangs as he sneered:

"You cowardly rats, you've gone to such lengths and made such a big fuss to invite me here, won't you show yourselves?"

"Hehehe..."

A sinister laugh suddenly came from not far away, echoing eerily through the empty ruins. As the laugh drew closer, the surrounding air temperature plummeted, and the once still shadows began to distort violently like boiling asphalt.

Without a sound, several figures exuding a terrifying aura slowly emerged from the darkness, surrounding Boros in the center.

"Knowing it was a trap, you still dared to walk right in. Should we say you're incredibly skilled and daring, or just pathetically stupid? Hehehe..."

The leader of the group mocked coldly, his icy eyes fixed on Boros.

"Oh? Not bad, not bad at all, quite a luxurious lineup. It feels like they can warm me up!"

Boros looked at the figures in front of him, smiled happily, and exclaimed in sincere admiration.

"Warm-up? You seem to be underestimating us all, huh? Hehehe..."

A sharp, mocking voice rang out. It came from a short, humanoid creature, its body as black as ink. Its appearance was extremely simple and crude. On its smooth white face, one could clearly feel the malice and amusement contained within. Several short antennae on its head trembled with its laughter.

"Black Sperm," a member of the Monster Association.

"You just stand there obediently and let us torture and play with you properly, haha!"

Before Black Sperm could finish speaking, a sharp and cruel laugh followed.

The speaker was a strange creature resembling a cat, covered in striped fur that gleamed coldly in the dim light. His taut muscles were faintly visible beneath the fur. He elegantly raised his forepaw, extending his scarlet tongue to greedily lick his sharp, knife-like claws. His eyes gleamed with the mocking yet bloodthirsty glint of a predator facing its prey.

"I hope you don't die too quickly, that wouldn't be fun."

Monster Association executive "Nyan"

"Ugh, this is so noisy."

A lazy, disdainful voice came from the shadows of the ruins. A figure wearing a tattered cloak and ragged clothes leaned against the broken wall. His stubble and messy long hair gave him an unkempt appearance, and he reeked of the sour smell unique to vagrants. The man yawned, glancing at Boros with sleepy eyes as if looking at an insignificant fly, his tone full of contempt and boredom.

"This guy doesn't look like much. I could take him down by myself. Why did we have to gather so many of us? That guy with the big eyes is really bored."

Homeless Emperor, a member of the Monster Association.

"Damn it, I'm so angry!"

A furious roar suddenly exploded, and the obese, bald figure, whose face was bloated like fermented dough, trembled with rage. His exposed, wrinkled belly heaved violently with his rapid breathing. He stared intently at Boros, jealousy and anger almost overflowing from his narrowed eyes, and roared, spittle flying everywhere:

"He's an alien, right? He's clearly an alien, so why is he so handsome! It's an insult to my aesthetic sense, absolutely disgusting! I'm going to kill you and tear your face to shreds!"

"Ugly President," a member of the Monster Association.

"Our strategist really admires you."

The last two figures stood side by side. The figure on the left slowly spoke, his voice as cold and menacing as a viper's hiss, sending chills down one's spine. He was thin and had a sinister face, a stark contrast to the cold-faced figure beside him, whose eyes were like a volcanic eruption.

The two emanated a completely different yet strangely intertwined sense of oppression, like twin demons, one yin and one yang.

"The strategist said you have the potential to become an association executive. You're not human, are you? Why not join our Monster Association and work together on a grand plan?"

Monster Association candidate "Hurricane Inferno"

"Don't even think about calling for help, my 'prey'."

Meow Meow narrowed its vertical pupils, a cruel and mocking smile spreading across its lips. Its sharp claws flashed through the air, as if it could already see its opponent's desperate struggle.

"You should know very well that the Hero Association has long since abandoned this area. No matter how much commotion we cause, they won't even glance at it. And..." He pointed to the signal towers overhead that had been deliberately jammed.

"The signal here has been completely blocked, so don't even think about sending out a distress signal."

"Hahahaha? Calling for help?"

Boros's suppressed, low chuckle suddenly exploded into a deafening, wild laugh that echoed endlessly over the empty ruins.

He suddenly raised his head, his mouth splitting into a grin that revealed sharp, white fangs. His single, scarlet eye burned with a savage flame, sweeping across the room as if he were looking down on a group of laughable ants.

"A few worthless fry dare to think I'd ask for help? That's a good joke; it's successfully made me laugh!"

As his maniacal laughter subsided, Boros slowly composed himself, his smile replaced by a chilling calm: "Have you... witnessed my true power?"

Then he slowly raised his right hand, the movement unhurried, and casually beckoned to the group of strange people before him, uttering a few words with disdain:

"Let's all come at him together."

"Damn bastards! Don't you dare touch him! Watch me smash his face into a pulp, then slowly torture him to death!"

The ugly president's small eyes, hidden between layers of fat, instantly blazed with a mixture of jealousy and rage. Boros's contemptuous attitude pierced his ridiculous pride, making him feel a sense of humiliation at being ignored.

With a deafening roar, his massive body, like an out-of-control flesh bomb, charged straight in, accompanied by a nauseating stench.

boom!

His fat yet explosive feet slammed into the ground, instantly creating a huge crater. Spiderweb-like cracks spread wildly in all directions, and debris flew everywhere.

A powerful punch, carrying immense force and accompanied by a sharp whistling sound, swung fiercely towards Boros's face. If this punch landed, it would be enough to flatten a small mountain.

However, just as the fist was about to touch the skin, the ugly president's bloated face, before it could bloom into a savage grin, froze in astonishment.

puff.

His fist pierced Boros's skull without any resistance, yet the sensation was one of emptiness. It was nothing but an afterimage!

"How is that possible?!"

The ugly president stared in disbelief, his pupils contracting sharply. Boros before him hadn't moved, maintaining his haughty demeanor, yet it was as if he had never existed.

"Too slow!" Boros looked at the ball of flesh in front of him, a mocking smile on his lips.

"I don't believe it! Die!"

This casual sarcasm was like adding fuel to the fire, instantly burning away the last vestiges of the ugly president's rationality.

His wounded pride and rage caused him to completely lose his reason, and an even more violent and turbid aura erupted from his bloated body. As the air surged, his already bloated body seemed to expand even further, and the blood vessels under his skin writhed wildly like earthworms.

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

His fists danced wildly, creating a flurry of afterimages, like two out-of-control heavy cannons, or a sudden storm, wildly and frantically lashing out at Boros.

Each punch was accompanied by a sharp, piercing sound as it broke through the air. The terrifying power, enough to smash an armored vehicle into scrap metal, exploded in the air, stirring up dust and gravel from the ground.

However, no matter how frantically he attacked, the barrage of punches only struck the cold air. Boros's clothes didn't even flutter; his feet were firmly planted on the ground as if rooted to the spot.

He tilted his head slightly, not even blinking, letting the opponent's powerful punch, capable of splitting mountains and shattering rocks, pass through his illusory chest, cheek, and neck, striking the empty air and producing a hollow and muffled whistling sound.

"So slow! How can they possibly hit anything at this turtle-like speed?"

Boros's voice rang out calmly, filled with extreme contempt and disdain, clearly penetrating the ugly president's ears. It was like an invisible slap across his face.

"Get out of the way, you idiot! What a disgrace! I'd like to see just how fast this guy can go."
