Lin Sinian sat beside Sisi, looking at her adorable appearance with a smile on his face. He reached out and patted her head gently, asking:

"Sisi hasn't visited Great-Grandpa in a long time. Great-Grandpa thinks about you every day. Do you miss Great-Grandpa too?"

"I've been thinking about it every day!" Sisi nodded quickly, her mouth still full of chocolate, her words muffled.

"Every night before going to sleep, Sisi thinks of her great-grandfather and the cookies he bought for her."

"Oh?" Lin Sinian raised an eyebrow, deliberately teasing her.

"How has Sisi been lately? Has she been unhappy at any time?"

"That's great!" Sisi immediately sat up straight, her tone particularly proud. She swallowed the chocolate in her mouth, and her speech became much clearer.

"Sisi is happy every day, and not sad at all!"

"Why are you so happy?"

Lin Sinian followed her words and asked, his eyes full of doting affection. He just wanted to hear what happy things had happened to this little one recently.

"Because Mommy helped Sisi find Daddy!" Sisi said, her eyes sparkling and her face full of pride.

"Dad is so good to Sisi. He makes her breakfast every morning, takes her to kindergarten, and tells her stories every night."

He teaches Sisi to draw, fold origami, and even play the guitar! "Daddy plays the guitar so well, even better than her kindergarten teacher!"

She talked non-stop, recounting all the good things Chen Hao had done for her to Lin Sinian, her little mouth chattering away without stopping.

The pride on her little face was impossible to hide, as if she were announcing to the whole world that she had the best dad.

After she finished speaking, she seemed to suddenly remember something, turned around abruptly, pointed at Chen Hao who was still standing in the middle of the living room, and excitedly said to Lin Sinian:

"Great-Grandpa, Great-Grandpa, look! That's Sisi's dad! It's him, he's so good to Sisi!"

Lin Sinian's gaze fell on Chen Hao again, his expression still indifferent, without the slightest enthusiasm, and he simply gave a soft "hmm".

Then he turned his gaze back to Sisi, as if Chen Hao were just an insignificant stranger.

Sisi noticed her great-grandfather's reaction, and the smile on her face slowly faded. She tilted her head and looked at her great-grandfather.

She glanced at her father standing there, a puzzled look on her face, her eyes full of confusion.

After a while, she cautiously tugged at Lin Sinian's sleeve and asked softly:

"Great-Grandpa, do you not like Sisi's dad?"

Although she was young, she could sense that her great-grandfather wasn't very enthusiastic about her father and didn't even want to talk to him.

Lin Sinian was taken aback, not expecting the little guy to be so sensitive. He quickly shook his head, his tone softening considerably, and explained:

"No, Great-Grandpa doesn't dislike it. He was just so busy talking to Sisi that he forgot to greet your father."

"Then why don't you talk to Daddy?" Sisi pouted, looking aggrieved.

"You're ignoring Dad, and he'll be sad."

Lin Sinian felt a little embarrassed by his great-granddaughter's words, his face flushing slightly. He cleared his throat.

He then looked at Chen Hao again, his tone still indifferent, but slightly more gentle than before:

"Please sit down, make yourself at home, you don't need to stand."

As he spoke, he pointed to the single sofa next to him, gesturing for Chen Hao to sit down.

Chen Hao nodded but did not sit down immediately.

He carried the painting tube, took a few steps forward, came to the coffee table, handed the painting tube to Lin Sinian, and said respectfully:

"Grandpa, this is a painting I'm giving you. It's nothing valuable, just a small token of my appreciation. Please accept it."

Lin Sinian glanced at the dark-colored painting tube, his eyes showing no emotion, and he did not reach out to take it.

In his opinion, this was most likely a painting that Chen Hao had bought randomly at some art market, thinking that he liked calligraphy and painting, so he specially bought it to give to him, which showed that he knew a bit of manners.

But he had seen many of these purchased paintings and calligraphy works, most of which were low-class and didn't catch his eye, so he didn't pay them any attention.

"Put it on the coffee table," he said casually, without a trace of expectation in his voice. After saying that, he lowered his head again to talk to Sisi, as if the painting was just an ordinary object, unimportant.

Chen Hao didn't mind, nodded, gently placed the painting tube on the coffee table, and then walked over to sit down on the single sofa next to him.

He sat upright, without relaxing at all, and did not speak. He just sat quietly, waiting for Lin Sinian to ask him questions.

Sisi couldn't sit still. She put down the chocolate in her hand, wiped her little hands, ran to the coffee table, picked up the painting tube, hugged it to her chest, and ran to Lin Sinian's side. She handed the painting tube to him and said excitedly, "Great-Grandpa, look! This wasn't bought, it was painted by Daddy himself! Daddy's paintings are so beautiful, so many people want to buy Daddy's paintings, but Daddy doesn't want to sell them!"

Lin Sinian paused for a moment, a look of surprise on his face. He looked up at Sisi, then at Chen Hao sitting on the sofa, his eyes filled with scrutiny.

Is this young man really good at drawing?

Or was it just a few random strokes that weren't too bad, and Sisi, being young, didn't understand what a good drawing was and thought her father's drawing was the best?

He had a nagging feeling, and the more he thought about it, the more impossible it seemed.

After all, in his eyes, Chen Hao was just an ordinary young man, and didn't look like someone who had practiced painting since childhood and had real talent.

wrong.

He suddenly remembered what Lin Caiwei had told him on the phone last night—"Grandpa, Chen Hao is no ordinary person. His paintings can sell for over a million yuan. He's really amazing."

At the time, he simply assumed his granddaughter was exaggerating, thinking that Lin Caiwei was exaggerating Chen Hao's abilities because she liked him, and he didn't take it to heart at all.

Some even thought that Lin Caiwei was blinded by love to say such a thing.

But now, Sisi is saying the same thing, and she says it so convincingly that it doesn't seem like she's lying.

This forced him to re-evaluate Chen Hao.
