As soon as it was dawn, Sisi woke up. As soon as she opened her eyes, she was wide awake, her mind filled with thoughts of the kindergarten's parent-child sports day.

She turned over, glanced at Chen Hao who was still sleeping next to her, and with a twist of her little body, she crawled into Chen Hao's bed.

The warm little body pressed against Chen Hao's chest, like a clingy kitten, and the little hand gently patted Chen Hao's face, not with much force, but enough to wake him up.

"Dad, wake up! Get up quickly! There's a sports meet today, and we promised to participate together!" Sisi's voice was crisp and clear, with a hint of anxiety, and she slapped her face even faster.

Chen Hao was actually almost awakened by her rubbing against him. Hearing this, he slowly opened his eyes and looked down to see his daughter's bright, expectant eyes. He couldn't help but smile.

He reached out and hugged Sisi tightly, pulling her closer, and kissed her smooth forehead, his voice still a little hoarse from just waking up:

"Okay, okay, Dad will get up right away, so as not to delay Sisi's participation in the sports meet."

Upon hearing this, Sisi immediately smiled, wrapped her little arms around Chen Hao's neck, and returned the kiss on the cheek, saying in a sweet, affectionate voice:

"Dad is the best!"

The two of them slowly got up. Chen Hao first squeezed toothpaste onto Sisi's toothbrush, handed her her little toothbrush, and then took a toothbrush for himself.

The father and daughter brushed their teeth in front of the mirror. Sisi even imitated Chen Hao, puffing out her cheeks to rinse her mouth. After rinsing, she proudly stuck out her tongue, making Chen Hao laugh.

After washing up, Chen Hao took out a pink tracksuit he had prepared in advance from the closet. It was a small sweatshirt and sweatpants, made of soft fabric that felt comfortable against his skin.

He squatted down and helped Sisi put on a sweatshirt, then sweatpants, and finally a pair of white sneakers. He tied the shoelaces and even pulled up the cuffs of her pants to make sure they weren't hurting her little ankles.

Sisi ran to the mirror, spun around twice, and looked down at her clothes and shoes.

She raised her hand and touched the small pattern on the hoodie, nodded in satisfaction, then turned around, tilted her head up, and asked Chen Hao:

"Daddy, isn't Sisi pretty? Doesn't she look like a little athlete?"

Chen Hao walked over, squatted down, straightened her slightly crooked collar, and ruffled her hair.

"She looks great. Sisi looks good in anything. She's the most spirited little athlete."

He changed into a dark gray casual outfit, simple, comfortable, and easy to wear for exercise. After getting ready, he held Sisi's little hand:

"Let's go, let's leave after breakfast, don't be late."

Breakfast was simple: milk, bread, and a fried egg, all of which Sisi usually likes to eat.

But today, Sisi was much more impatient than usual. She picked up the bread and stuffed it into her mouth, her little mouth bulging. She chewed so hard her cheeks were moving, and she kept urging us on indistinctly as she chewed:

"Dad, hurry up and eat, or the sports meet will start!"

Chen Hao was both amused and exasperated by her urging. He had originally intended to eat slowly, but reluctantly picked up the milk and finished it in a few gulps.

After taking two more bites of bread, he picked up the car keys, took Sisi's little hand, and walked out.

"Let's go, let's go, I won't rush you anymore, I'm going now."

When we arrived at the kindergarten gate, there were already quite a few people there, with parents and children everywhere, creating a lively atmosphere.

The children were all wearing brightly colored sportswear—red, yellow, blue—and some even had colorful headbands.

They were all in high spirits, holding their parents' hands and skipping and hopping as they walked inside, chattering about today's projects.

Sisi, holding Chen Hao's hand, skipped and hopped along, her little steps quick, and she would occasionally turn back to say to Chen Hao:

"Dad, look at that little kid's yellow clothes, they're so cute!" "Dad, let's win all the games later, okay?"

Chen Hao smiled and nodded, letting her pull him forward: "Okay, we'll listen to Sisi and do our best."

The kindergarten playground is not large, but it is decorated with great care, and you can tell at a glance that the teachers have put a lot of thought into it.

The running track was marked with neat white lime lines, and several colorful flags were planted beside it, fluttering gently in the wind.

A large banner was hung on the stage, which read "Spring Parent-Child Sports Meet" and was particularly eye-catching.

Several teachers were adjusting the sound system, and cheerful children's songs were playing from the loudspeakers. These were songs that the children usually liked to listen to, and the children hummed along.

Chen Hao, holding Sisi's hand, went to the registration area to sign in.

There were two teachers at the registration desk who smiled and took their names, gave Chen Hao a project form, and handed Sisi a small number tag to pin on her clothes.

Chen Hao took the project list and pulled Sisi over to look at it. There weren't many projects, just a few:

There were also "three-legged race," "kangaroo jump," "dad tug-of-war," and a few other simple games, with the time all clearly marked for each activity.

Sisi stood on tiptoe, staring at the project list, her little finger pointing to "three-legged race," and excitedly said:

"Dad, let's play with this first, it looks so fun!"

Chen Hao patted her head: "Okay, let's listen to Sisi and prepare for this project first."

I had just finished signing in and hadn't even reached the center of the playground when a childish voice came from behind me, shouting very loudly:

"Sisi! Sisi!"

Upon hearing the sound, Sisi immediately turned her head, her little face instantly brightening, her eyes narrowing into slits, and she shouted back loudly:

"Duoduo! Duoduo!"

Duoduo had two cute little braids and was wearing a red tracksuit; she looked very energetic.

She took her mother's hand and ran quickly over. Reaching Sisi, she let go of her mother's hand and grabbed Sisi's hand instead.

The two little girls huddled together and started chatting away, their words as fast as sparrows.

Duo Duo's mother followed behind and slowly walked over.

She looked much better today; her face had color and wasn't as pale as before. She was also walking more steadily and was no longer as weak as she used to be.

She walked up to Chen Hao, a gentle smile on her face, and greeted him, "Sisi's dad, we meet again."

Chen Hao smiled and nodded, looking at her complexion, and asked sincerely:

"You're feeling much better? You look much better than the last time we met."

Duo Duo's mother nodded repeatedly, her voice full of gratitude: "Much better, much better, thank you so much."

The doctor said I'm recovering much faster than expected. If it weren't for you, I'd probably still be lying in bed right now.

I was worried I wouldn't be able to come to the sports meet today, but Duoduo kept saying she wanted me to come with her, so I gritted my teeth and came. Seeing the child happy makes me happy too.
