"It's okay, it's normal for the first time you crack eggs." Chen Hao picked up his chopsticks and patiently helped her pick out the broken eggshells from the bowl, gently comforting Lin Caiwei.

Having learned from her first experience, Lin Caiwei became much more skilled when cracking the second egg, and her movements were more steady, with only a tiny bit of eggshell falling in.

By the time it came to the third egg, the movements were already very swift; the shell was broken open cleanly, and the egg liquid in the bowl was clear and intact, without a single impurity.

"Look! Aren't I amazing this time!" She immediately raised the bowl in her hand, like a child who had received a reward, and turned to Chen Hao to happily show off her achievement, her eyes full of joy.

Looking at her adorable appearance, Chen Hao's eyes filled with gentle smiles as he softly praised, "Hmm, very impressive, you learn very quickly."

Next comes the most crucial step: stir-frying the vegetables.

Chen Hao stood steadily behind her, providing close guidance and teaching her step by step how to control the heat, the amount of oil, and the timing of adding ingredients and stir-frying.

"The oil is hot enough; you can pour in the egg mixture now."

Lin Caiwei carefully poured the egg mixture into the hot oil from the bowl.

"Sizzle—" A loud splash of hot oil rang out, and the egg mixture expanded and puffed up instantly upon contact with the high temperature, turning golden and fluffy, looking exceptionally tempting.

She had rarely been in the kitchen before, and was startled by the sudden noise. She instinctively took a step back, bumping right into Chen Hao's warm embrace.

Chen Hao gently wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, placed his large hand over her hand holding the spatula, and guided her to gently stir the egg mixture in the pan, his movements gentle and steady.

"Don't worry, that's the sound of hot oil when stir-frying. You'll get used to it," he reassured softly.

"Stir-fry for a few seconds and then take it out of the pan. Leave a little oil in the pan to stir-fry the tomatoes."

Lin Caiwei's cheeks were burning hot. She nodded obediently and carefully scooped the fried golden eggs onto a plate after Chen Hao let go.

Then I poured all the chopped tomatoes into the pot. This time I was much calmer and slowly stirred them with the spatula, my movements were much more composed.

"Add a pinch of salt and a little sugar to enhance the flavor and neutralize the acidity of the tomatoes," Chen Hao whispered to him.

Lin Caiwei strictly followed his instructions, adding seasonings little by little, being very careful not to add too much and affect the taste.

Stir-fry slowly for a while, and the tomatoes gradually soften and release juice, releasing a sweet and sour aroma.

"Once the tomatoes are softened and juicy, pour the eggs back in, stir-fry them together until evenly mixed, and then it's ready to serve."

Lin Caiwei immediately poured the eggs back into the pan and quickly stir-fried them a few times, ensuring that each piece of egg was coated with the tomato sauce.

The bright red and yellow colors of the dishes are very appealing and make them look especially appetizing.

"Alright, all done, it's ready to be taken out of the pot."

She carefully ladled the scrambled eggs with tomatoes into a white porcelain plate, held it in her hands and examined it intently, a smile playing on her lips, her heart filled with satisfaction and pride.

"Look! I made this myself!"

"Yes, it was made by our Weiwei herself, it's wonderful." Chen Hao gently echoed, seeing her happy expression.

Lin Caiwei placed the plate on the dining table and immediately took out her phone to take several photos of her finished product, carefully selecting the angles.

Although the presentation wasn't perfect—the tomatoes were uneven in size and the eggs weren't perfectly shaped—it was the first time she had ever cooked a home-style dish herself, and she felt an unprecedented sense of accomplishment.

After taking the photos, she turned around and went back to the kitchen with great interest. She picked up the knife on the cutting board and prepared to chop the celery she would eat for lunch and continue learning how to cook.

"Be careful, the celery stalks are tough, don't cut your hand—"

Before Chen Hao could finish his instructions, Lin Caiwei hissed softly, and the cleaver in her hand clattered gently onto the cutting board.

She frowned and subconsciously withdrew her left hand. A small cut appeared on the tip of her index finger from the blade, and a bead of bright red blood slowly seeped out, looking particularly glaring.

Chen Hao's heart tightened, and he immediately stepped forward. Without saying a word, he took her injured hand, pulled it to the tap, turned on the water, and gently rinsed the wound, washing away the oozing blood.

He then turned around, opened the cabinet, took out the first-aid kit he always kept at home, and took out cotton swabs and iodine. He moved very gently and carefully wiped the edges of the wound, disinfecting it carefully, afraid of hurting her if he used too much force.

Lin Caiwei lowered her eyes and quietly watched him carefully tend to her wounds.

His eyelashes were long and thick, hanging down and casting a light shadow under his eyelids. His brows and eyes were focused and serious, his brows were slightly furrowed, and his lips were gently pursed. His whole person exuded a delicate and gentle aura.

Seeing how concerned he was about her, Lin Caiwei felt a sweet, warm current well up in her heart, soft and warm, filling her entire chest.

"Does it hurt?" Chen Hao asked softly, looking up after finishing with the iodine, his voice full of concern.

"It doesn't hurt, it's just a tiny wound, it doesn't hurt at all," Lin Caiwei gently shook her head and answered softly.

"Next time you cut vegetables, remember to bend your fingers inward and use your knuckles to support the blade. Don't be silly and stick your fingers out straight; it's too dangerous."

While giving her gentle instructions, Chen Hao took out a band-aid, carefully applied it to her skin, and wrapped it around twice to secure it firmly.

"Okay, I'll remember. I'll be more careful next time." Lin Caiwei nodded obediently.

Chen Hao finished applying the bandage, looked up and met her staring intently at him. Slightly startled, he asked in confusion:

"What's wrong? Why are you staring at me like that?"

Lin Caiwei snapped back to her senses, quickly shook her head, and withdrew her hand. Her earlobes turned bright red, and she muttered softly:

"N-nothing."

The house was quiet and peaceful in the afternoon.

Sisi was still in kindergarten and hadn't been dismissed yet. The huge house was empty except for the two of them, so quiet that they could hear each other breathing.

With nothing to do, Chen Hao went into his studio and sat down to paint.

Lin Caiwei moved a chair and sat quietly beside him, watching him paint without making a fuss.

He paints small-scale works, simple landscapes, and fresh flowers and birds. His brushstrokes are casual and natural, without any trace of deliberate embellishment, making them exceptionally pleasing to the eye.

Lin Caiwei doesn't understand professional painting techniques or the rules of brush and ink composition, but she simply finds the paintings beautiful and feels exceptionally calm when looking at them.

Pointing to a landscape painting on the table, she asked curiously, "Where is this landscape from? It looks so beautiful."

Chen Hao, holding his paintbrush, didn't look up and replied softly, "Not a specific place."

"Not a real scene?" Lin Caiwei was a little surprised.

"Mm." Chen Hao nodded slightly, his tone indifferent.

"Painting doesn't necessarily mean copying real scenery. You can also paint the landscapes you imagine in your mind. Whatever is in your heart, that's what you paint."
