Greece: I am the master of destiny!

Chapter 17 The Gods Terrified

Oceanus, the ocean god, was the eldest son of the Father of the Sky and the Mother of the Earth. Because the ocean's descendants were endless, he was once the most powerful god among the twelve Titans.

He was also a respected elder brother by all the gods.

But precisely because He was the most powerful, Uranus targeted Him first.

Under the "special care" of the God-King, His realm fell, leaving Him with only mid-level powerful divine strength, placing Him in the middle tier among the current Twelve Titans.

He never imagined that it would be himself who would ultimately overthrow the tyrannical rule of the God-King.

Does He... have that ability?

Oceanus fell into deep self-doubt.

He trembled at the mere thought of raising his sword against Uranus, unable to muster even the slightest courage.

It wasn't that He was too cowardly, but rather that Uranus was simply too powerful, and in addition, He had indeed suffered terribly during those years, leaving deep psychological scars.

Not only Oceanus was caught in self-doubt, but the other gods also looked at each other, seeing hesitation in each other's eyes.

Prometheus had anticipated their reaction, and upon seeing this, he smiled slightly and earnestly explained, "This firstborn son is not that firstborn son."

Seeing that the gods looked confused and didn't understand, He didn't elaborate on the issue of the firstborn son, but instead said, "This rebellion cannot be won by His Holiness the Ocean God alone."

He looked at the gods and said with utmost seriousness, "It is you who need to work together."

"What are we supposed to do by working together? Rebel against the King of Gods?" The celestial god Crios chuckled self-deprecatingly. "But we gods are probably no match for His Majesty the King of Gods."

These words were incredibly pessimistic, yet the twelve Titans all nodded in agreement, their eyes filled with helplessness.

If they could resist, they would have done so long ago.

But after so many years of living a life worse than death, haven't the gods still obediently been tortured and toyed with by Uranus?

The reason is simple: that King of the Gods, the Father of the Sky, is just too powerful!

They were so powerful that they couldn't even resist, and just looking at them would make them feel guilty and afraid. Especially after all these years of torment, their fear of Uranus was almost ingrained in their bones.

Even those as impatient as Iapetus and as proud as Hyperion, weren't they as docile as lambs in front of Uranus?

Instead of letting them rebel against Uranus, it would be better to pray that Gaianu would work hard and produce new gods capable of rebelling against Uranus.

Thinking of this, Phoebe, the wife of Coeus, the god of foresight, and also the goddess of light and wisdom, couldn't help but speak up:

"Perhaps the ones rebelling against the God-King are the children of the Mother Goddess? I can sense the immense power of this law's rhythm; the children the Mother Goddess is conceiving this time far surpass us."

"The Mother Goddess's rebellion may fail, but her children may be able to fulfill her expectations."

Upon hearing this, the gods all nodded in agreement, finding the beautiful Phoebe's words to be very reasonable.

They felt no ability to fight Uranus, nor even the courage to do so. They could only place their hopes on others and pray that they would be led out of their suffering.

Themis frowned upon seeing this, and was about to reprimand him when she saw Prometheus shake his head at her.

So Themis could only suppress her dissatisfaction and remain silent, watching helplessly as the gods talked and talked, becoming more and more excited and expectant.

Just like the child that the Earth Mother Goddess Gaia is conceiving this time, it will surely be incredibly powerful and invincible, even able to contend with the King of Gods.

And they only need to wait to be saved.

Themis grew increasingly disappointed as she listened, finding her self-deceiving brothers and sisters utterly laughable, and feeling heartbroken that no one was willing to protect the world.

But her eyes were covered by a white cloth, so the other gods did not notice anything unusual about her. Also silent and with a playful expression was Cronus, who was gradually being ostracized by the gods.

Cronus observed the whole thing with detached indifference, finding the Titans utterly ridiculous for still indulging in wishful thinking even now.

But when He turned His head, He saw Prometheus looking at Him thoughtfully. When Prometheus noticed Him, Prometheus even smiled at Him.

Cronus immediately turned cold and abruptly looked away.

Once the gods had parted, Themis finally had a chance to ask Prometheus, "Why did you stop me from speaking?"

"Honorable Goddess of Order, what were you trying to say just now?" Prometheus smiled helplessly: "I was just trying to tell them that it's better to rely on yourself than on others."

"Shouldn't we do this?" Themis retorted, the goddess full of justice saying, "Now that the world order has collapsed, we, as the first generation of gods, should naturally do our best."

"It's really wrong to rely on others to do everything."

"Do you think they'll listen to you?" Prometheus interrupted her abruptly.

Themis was taken aback by what she heard.

Prometheus looked at the overly naive goddess before him, his expression growing increasingly helpless: "Your Highness Themis, you can never wake someone who is pretending to be asleep."

"You won't know the pain until you're cut by a knife, and you won't think to run until you're burned by fire. So your words will not only fail to achieve your goal, but will also have the opposite effect."

Themis had never considered these things before, but upon closer examination, her brow furrowed: "What should we do then?"

"wait."

As Prometheus spoke, his gaze fell upon the distant, chaotic world created by the merging of heaven and earth.

"Wait? Wait for what?"

"Wait until the fire burns on themselves," Prometheus said. "Only when they themselves want to rebel will their plans be heeded and regarded as golden advice."

"Before that, saying anything more would be a waste of breath."

Themis still didn't quite understand, so she waved her hand impatiently and said, "I don't know what you're talking about. Just tell me when you need to take action."

Prometheus nodded with a smile.

He was quite satisfied with Themis's fighting prowess.

As for the gods who were terrified today and were busy fleeing instead of resisting, that was also within His expectations.

But He has already sown the seeds of rebellion, and now only a little pressure is needed to make those seeds sprout.

And this pressure will come a hundred years from now.

After a century of union and gestation, under the expectant gaze of all the gods, the Earth Mother Goddess…

She finally gave birth again.

And this time, she gave birth to something that left all the gods speechless.
