Greece: I am the master of destiny!

Chapter 4: A Prophecy That Shocked Everyone

On the majestic sacred mountain, pairs of eyes watched Prometheus with curiosity in them.

They also wanted to know whether their powerful and majestic God-King would become even more powerful in the future, and whether he would lead them to create a more prosperous and flourishing world.

Uranus was even more eager to know about his future.

In Uranus's view, he had already mastered the power of creation, and the world had become a plaything in his eyes. He believed that he would only become more and more powerful in the future, and the world would only get better and better under his rule.

Today is the day of His coronation as God-King. At such a high-spirited and ambitious time, He would naturally be curious about His future great achievements.

But He had no idea how much trouble His casual question would cause Prometheus.

No prophecy was needed; Prometheus already knew the ultimate fate of Uranus, the great king of the gods and the lord of the heavens.

In the end, He was abandoned by all, castrated by His own son, and forever lost His paternal authority. He was abandoned by the world of Chaos and his son usurped the throne of the gods.

Prometheus had no doubt that if he dared to say this, given Uranus's arrogant and conceited nature, he might very well throw him into the abyss of Tartarus and imprison him for eternity.

Although gods are immortal, Prometheus did not want to leave one cage and, before he could even take a few breaths of fresh air, enter a new one.

Therefore, it's definitely not something you can say directly.

They couldn't refuse to speak either, partly because Uranus wasn't exactly known for his good temper.

However, as long as the prophecy is true or false, the person being prophesied about will sense it, so prophecies must never be false.

In this situation, what to say and how to say it are worth discussing.

Prometheus was struck by a thought, remembering his own weak origins of destiny.

If altering Epimetheus's fate can strengthen the source of destiny, what if altering the fate of Uranus, the king of the gods?

Upon realizing this, Prometheus was momentarily tempted.

The best way to change the course of Uranus's fate is not to make prophecies, because once a prophecy is made, the future is predetermined.

Because the past is unchanging and the future is infinite, the present is a superposition of the possibilities of change and constancy. The future is always in the future. When you think that what you are observing is the future, it has already become the past.

"Is there a problem?" Uranus asked, somewhat annoyed, seeing that Prometheus hadn't made a move.

For some unknown reason, Uranus always felt a certain dislike for this newly born prophetic god.

He didn't know that this was because the God-King was originally the representative of the Chaos world, and that this world instinctively rejected alien beings. He just felt a deeper and deeper dislike for Prometheus the more he looked at him.

"No, Your Majesty," Prometheus replied respectfully. "It is my honor to offer prophecy for your greatness."

"But... Your Majesty the Great God-King, once a prophecy is made, the future will be set."

"Everything that is known exists. When the future is between existence and non-existence, if it is observed, it will come directly."

Prometheus explained the nature of prophecy to Uranus, saying that the so-called prophet is actually more of an observer.

He subtly reminded Uranus that if the prophecy were made, there could not be a better outcome than the prophecy, so ignorance was the best policy.

Just as He would never predict His own future, but only for the sake of more possibilities.

But Uranus disagreed.

At this moment, Uranus had just become the king of the gods and had mastered unprecedented power. The surging power of creation made him feel that even if the world really came to an end, he could forcefully reverse it, because he truly possessed the power of creation.

Not to mention mere prophecies.

What He didn't know was that Prometheus had secretly concealed the divine authority over destiny. If prophecy could be altered in the face of absolute power, then destiny itself was unpredictable.

But because He did not know, He confidently said, "Prometheus, just say it."

"Whether this prophecy is good or bad, I am confident that I can change it!"

"So, speak your prophecy. Whatever the outcome, I will grant you a not-too-excessive condition as a gift for your rebirth. In the name of the God-King, I guarantee you will not be disappointed."

Seeing that the arrogant and conceited Uranus was stubborn and wouldn't listen to reason, and having said all that, even if Prometheus still wanted to save him, he couldn't insist any longer and could only respect the fate of others.

He took a deep breath, and a white light slowly appeared in his eyes. Uranus felt that something was spying on him, which made him somewhat displeased.

Finally, under the increasingly complex gazes of the gods, Prometheus slowly spoke:

"Your Majesty, the future is destined to be betrayed, and your throne will be threatened."

"Your children will raise their knives against you, your loved ones will stand against you, and it will all end where it began."

"Power is eternal, but those who wield it are not."

Prometheus's words astonished everyone present.

The gods were all keenly aware of the weight of those few words, and even more aware of what they meant. In an instant, everyone's expression changed.

"Nonsense!"

Prometheus's father, Iapetus, the god of life and soul, could no longer sit still. His surging and overwhelming divine power pressed down on Prometheus.

Not long ago, He was proud of giving birth to a child with great divine power, but now He wished He could stuff this audacious fellow back into Clymene's belly to stop Him from talking nonsense!

But His surging, frenzied divine power vanished with a casual wave of Uranus's hand, as if it had never existed.

Uranus glanced at him indifferently, his face revealing neither joy nor anger: "Iapetus, let him finish speaking."

Iapetus was extremely anxious, but Uranus didn't give him a chance to speak again, instead looking at Prometheus.

The Earth Mother Goddess Gaia finally realized the seriousness of the problem and tried to stop it, but was ruthlessly pushed away by Uranus.

"Go on."

The God-King's tone was calm, revealing no emotional fluctuations, yet there was an inexplicable sense of impending doom.

Prometheus, however, felt no fear. He merely sighed softly, a hint of apology appearing on his face.

"Your Majesty, the King of Gods, the Great Lord of the Heavens, my divine power has been exhausted. Although I would like to continue to prophesy more in detail for you, I have indeed exhausted all my strength."

He was not lying. The gods could all feel the depleted power within him. Foretelling the God-King was no easy task, especially since he had only just been born.

Uranus nodded and did not make things difficult for Him, simply saying, "Alright, then I will give you time to recover. After you deliver the complete prophecy, I will fulfill my promise to you."

Prometheus naturally responded without hesitation, and at the same time, he secretly breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that his crisis was temporarily averted.

Uranus, as expected, stopped looking at Him and instead turned his gaze to the gods.
