Greece: I am the master of destiny!
Chapter 85 The Birth of Hades
When Themis helped Rhea back to the mountain, they found Cronus already waiting there.
Upon seeing Rhea holding a child in her arms, Cronus's gaze instantly changed, transforming from guilty to sharp, as if the child were not his own, but rather his enemy.
Themis, being a righteous person, frowned upon seeing this, but before she could speak, she was told by Cronus to leave.
"Themis, thank you for bringing Rhea back, but I don't have time to entertain you today. I'll come and thank you properly when I have time."
As Cronus spoke, though his expression remained unchanged, Themis could clearly sense the distance in his tone.
As soon as she uttered those words, Rhea's body trembled slightly, as if she knew something extremely bad was about to happen.
Themis was extremely conflicted at that moment.
Reason told her that this was a matter for the God-King's family, and she had neither the right nor the ability to interfere. However, her own sense of justice kept reminding her that this was against justice and should be corrected.
"What's wrong, Themis? Is there anything else you want to tell me?"
Seeing that Themis did not respond for a long time, Cronus asked patiently, but his eyes grew colder.
Themis had no doubt that if she didn't leave, Crios' fate would be her fate as well.
but……
"Your Majesty, I wish to speak with you." In the end, unable to go against her own will, Themis took a deep breath and uttered these words.
Meeting Cronus's completely cold gaze, Themis, having made her decision, didn't hesitate and was about to explain herself when Rhea suddenly interrupted her:
"There's nothing to say, Themis. This is between Cronus and me, so you don't need to concern yourself with it."
Themis was taken aback and stared at Rhea in astonishment.
Rhea, however, stopped looking at her and instead focused her gaze on the newborn baby, her eyes softening.
"I have so much to say to Cronus, Themis. Thank you for accompanying me this time, but now, you should go first."
Themis knew perfectly well that Rhea was protecting her, and her heart ached even more, but in the end she could only grit her teeth and nod in agreement.
As the golden figure gradually disappeared, only Kronos, Rhea, and the newborn child remained on the sacred mountain.
Silence spread, and the atmosphere on the sacred mountain was eerily quiet. Looking at the goddess Rhea before him, Cronus's expression became complicated.
"He is called Hades, and he himself has no laws."
Finally, Rhea spoke first. Although her voice didn't sound much different, she tightened her grip on the child: "The divine power at birth isn't strong, so it can't possibly threaten you. Can it stay here?"
Cronus remained silent.
His silence made Rhea unable to control her suppressed emotions any longer. Holding the child, she looked up at Cronus and said through gritted teeth, "That horse was you, wasn't it?"
"And what about that sea goddess? Cronus, how long are you going to keep this from me?"
Upon hearing this, Cronus's expression finally changed.
After only a moment of panic, Cronus calmed down, looked at Rhea with a complicated expression, and said stiffly, "I don't know what you're talking about."
"Do you think denying it will make a difference? Do I need to remind you of the marks on that goddess's body?"
Rhea's voice trembled, but she gritted her teeth, unwilling to lose her composure: "I clearly sensed your presence in Mount Pelyon, yet I couldn't find you. Do you think I'm stupid enough to not see anything?"
"I thought your feelings for me were so sincere, but what have you done? Over the years, you've probably been to Mount Pelion countless times! And that child in the goddess's womb, can you swear it's not yours?"
By the end, Rhea's eyes were red, but she stubbornly gritted her teeth, refusing to let the tears fall.
Rhea was devastated at that moment.
She always thought she had seen through Cronus, and that although Cronus was not as innocent and kind as she had imagined, he was forced to kill his own child because of the curse.
At least His feelings for her were unique and genuine, so even after losing two children, Rhea was still trying to understand Him.
But now that Ferrura has appeared, Rhea realizes how ridiculous she has been.
What she thought was a sincere and unique love between them was nothing but a joke.
If he was so afraid of the curse, how could Cronus have made so many goddesses pregnant with his children?
So from the very beginning, all the talk about being forced or having no other choice was just an excuse Cronus used to cover up his true nature. Yet she was so foolish as to be deceived by the same person twice.
I was scammed twice!
Rhea had no idea how she got back to the sacred mountain. Her mind was filled with the ambiguous red marks on Ferrura's naked body and her high, protruding belly.
The erotic scene haunted her mind like a nightmare, making her feel like a joke.
The child in her arms seemed to sense her pain, reaching out a tiny hand to grasp her fingers. Rhea subconsciously looked down and met a pair of dark eyes.
Tears finally streamed down her face. Rhea could no longer control her emotions. She held the little child and wept bitterly.
She hated herself for being blind to the same trick twice, and for being so foolish as to ignore the warnings Prometheus had given her. But what she hated most was Cronus, who had been deceiving her all along.
"Now that you know, I won't hide it from you anymore."
When everything was exposed, Cronus calmed down. He simply watched Rhea sob uncontrollably and listened to her broken accusations without feeling any emotion. He was even a little angry and ashamed.
"Rhea, you will always be my Queen God, and my only Queen God. I don't understand what more you could want. I've been so good to you, sharing all the glory with you. Isn't that enough?"
"So, it's actually me who's not satisfied?"
Rhea laughed as if she had heard an extremely funny joke, and she actually laughed, a laugh that was incredibly pathetic.
She stared at Cronus, the last vestige of love in her eyes vanishing completely, and gritted her teeth, saying, "Cronus, you're a beast."
"You murdered your father and devoured your son, defying the will of the gods and violating the laws of procreation. A god like you is utterly unworthy to be the king of gods, and the curse you fear..."
Seeing the sudden change in Kronos's expression, Rhea felt a surge of triumphant satisfaction. She showed no fear and spoke slowly and deliberately:
"The curse you fear will come true!"
