LOL: Alliance Intelligence King

Chapter 4 I like eating your takeout

Zuo Wu proactively explained the reason: "After they entered the quarterfinals of S5, the LCK teams stopped scheduling scrims with the LPL teams, and most of the LPL teams were on vacation."

LGD's Wei Shen's reverse arrow and IG's leak scandal mean they're still dealing with their own public opinion and have no time to schedule scrimmages with EDG.

"With EDG?"

Chen Rui suddenly realized why Snake hadn't given a break yet, and why there were still players training in the training room.

Since EDG defeated SKT to win the MSI championship in 2015, they have become an invincible force in the LPL. Chen Rui also participated in the "e-sports Oscars" between LGD and IG.

However, even with his former OGN league champion mid and jungle, he couldn't beat EDG when he coached IG. Now that Snake is half-crippled, can they beat them?

He had previously thought that Coach Zuo Wu, being a former coach, would know how to handle things properly, but now, with just one sentence, he had delivered a devastating blow that would make even Ultraman's life a disaster.

but......

He now possesses the [Coach's Vision System], and might just be able to break the nightmare of the league's reigning champions when facing EDG.

Chen Rui nodded in agreement, looked up at Zhu Kai, and found it inexplicably amusing to see the other's hesitant expression.

Zhu Kaiming is ostensibly a data analyst, but in reality... almost all the statistics compiled by the entire coaching team were done by Chen Rui.

Zhu Kai was responsible for taking care of the printer's daily needs.

Before Zhu Kai could speak, Chen Rui chimed in, "I'll take the loss and go first. Zhu Kai has less coaching experience than me."

After saying that,

Chen Rui saw Zhu Kai's emotions immediately change from [nervousness] to [ecstasy].

This is gnawed on red...

That's really reality.

I still prefer the takeout you order.

"Old Chen, you said it yourself! Going first will be at a disadvantage, are you sure?"

Zhu Kai laughed: "We'll see then. I've come prepared for this trial."

"Don't worry, we can't lose."

Those who go first are more likely to have their homework copied.

Whether or not he could understand the copy was not Chen Rui's concern.

"Here is the information of our team members. Familiarize yourselves with it, and then come with me to the training room later."

Chen Rui took the folder and quickly glanced at the documents.

Chen Rui had already memorized Snake's tactics, style, and personnel.

In the LPL, the earliest user of the four-protect-one strategy was the Snake team, who protected KRYST4L, nicknamed Crystal Bro.

His Draven and Tristana contributed many memorable moments in the 2015 competition. In the Spring Split, he even achieved a pentakill with Draven, which amazed everyone. Even UZI had to temporarily avoid his sharp edge.

They did a great job with the jungler-support synergy in the Spring Split, but unfortunately, their tactical shift in the Summer Split led to a decline in the team's execution, and their performance plummeted.

That horse has turned into the shape of EDG.

Besides Crystal Bro, another key member is Goblin Little Tyrant Holy Gun Bro.

With top laners across the league moving towards a more supportive role, Flandre is definitely an anomaly among domestic top laners, focusing on offense and flashy plays – a typical aggressive top laner.

They dared to pick Riven, Yasuo, and Azir, and surprisingly, they were able to achieve good results.

Unfortunately, newcomers in the LPL can never escape EDG. Once Clearlove has figured them out, they have to honestly become blue-collar workers. Even Flandre couldn't escape his clutches.

As for mid laner Bake, his skill level is slightly weaker, and he plays a neutral style, neither particularly outstanding nor weak. His style leans towards that of European and American mid laners, preferring to farm in the mid lane and pick champions like Xerath and Ziggs.

In Chen Rui's words.

There are no highlights.

This player is purely a check-in type; their potential is limited.

The jungler Beast and the support Ella are Korean imports.

Although they are Korean imports, their skills are not outstanding. They are more like utility players and cannot be compared with the ten players from Samsung. As the team's commander, Ella, the support player, has not played a commanding role.

Chen Rui has studied Snake.

Their biggest problem in the summer season was their tendency to collectively make mistakes, resulting in internal chaos, players not being able to find their roles in team fights, and their execution being terrible.

This is largely related to the team's command.

It's estimated that after the coaching staff exhausted their previous three tricks, they didn't readjust their tactical style or adapt to the current meta, which allowed other teams to quickly figure them out.

Chen Rui speculated.

Snake will completely replace its coaching staff and will also undergo a major overhaul of its players.

If he can actually get a tryout with Snake, Chen Rui plans to apply to the management to find a player with leadership skills, just like Jackeylove, whom he has been longing for.

Otherwise, given Snake's current situation, they are very likely to be relegated back to LSPL after the 2016 Spring Split.

In today's scrim match against what's known as EDG, if Snake had fielded their original lineup and Chen Rui had boosted the intensity of their players' performance, they might have won.

But if a newcomer is brought in, and Chen Rui doesn't know the other person well, he really has to rely on his improvisation skills.

Zhu Kai can afford to lose, but he can't.

He really needs to properly train Snake's players.

"Manager Zuo Wu, what is Beast and Ella's Chinese proficiency like? I didn't see this mentioned in the materials."

Chen Rui inquired, as he was very concerned about the situation.

In 2015, IG had two top Korean players, Kakao and Rookie. Rookie studied Chinese very diligently and could communicate with other team members without any problems.

Kakao, however, was not like that. He was unwilling to learn Chinese and his attitude was extremely unserious. If Chen Rui hadn't forced him to learn, he wouldn't even know the basic tactical communication language and would have relied entirely on Rookie as his translator.

During his time with IG, Chen Rui lost all prejudice against Korean players.

Effective and unimpeded communication within a team is more effective in improving the team's overall strength in the short term than improving individual skills.

Zuo Wu shook his head with a wry smile. "Basic tactical command communication is fine, but we can't say any more. We've tried several Chinese teachers, but they just can't teach them anything. Look at the last page."

"Even a cow will learn after being taught three times, let alone a person. If there's a chance, just send the Korean players who aren't willing to learn back. They've been spoiled and developed a lot of bad habits."

"You're right, aren't you, Ken Zhu?"

Chen Rui spoke calmly, glancing at Zhu Kai, who was engrossed in reading documents.

Zhu Kai lifted his head from the documents.

His eyes were clear.

"Chen Rui is right! Kakao is such a jerk. He doesn't learn Chinese, and he drinks all the time. I never want to see him again."

Chen Rui made a couple of jokes and then turned to the second to last page.

As he had imagined, Beast, Ella, and mid-laner Bake's contracts expire this year, and the club doesn't seem to have any intention of renewing them.

"Beast didn't renew his contract, and he went back to Korea after the competition. We recently had a trial with a top-ranked jungler, and the results were pretty good. If he performs well today, we plan to sign him."

"King of the Streets?"

Chen Rui looked at Zuo Wu.

"His information has not yet been compiled. His ID is Zzr. I will have my assistant bring you his trial data later."

"A newcomer? I love newcomers the most."
