Alien invasion? Luckily, I'm Superman.
Chapter 11 The Conspiracy of Parallel Universes
Su Mo broke out of the sun's gravitational well.
He felt like a stone launched by a slingshot; the sun's gravity behind him was like a snapped rubber band, breaking with a crack, and he silently plunged into space.
In space, starlight swept past him. Distant planets rushed past in his field of vision—Mercury, Venus—he was moving so fast that even these planets became blurry dots of light.
Then he saw the Earth.
The blue planet rapidly magnified in his field of vision, growing from a tiny speck the size of a marble to the size of a fist, then into a gigantic sphere that filled most of his field of vision. Blue oceans, white clouds, tawny land, and those—
Black spots.
In Earth's orbit, those dark spots resembled a flock of vultures circling above the corpses. An alien fleet—a dozen battleships and dozens of escort ships—was arrayed in near-Earth orbit, like a venomous snake coiled above the planet.
But Su Mo noticed some changes, which were different from before.
The fleet's positions had changed. They were no longer loosely distributed in orbit as before, but more concentrated, with several large transport ships breaking away from the fleet and descending into Earth's atmosphere, seemingly protected by the warships.
Su Mo's super vision penetrated the transport ship's hull, revealing its interior. There were more soldiers, and various devices for imprisoning animals.
Su Mo understood what he was seeing in an instant.
Enslavement. That's right.
The alien commander was clearly enraged by his previous actions; a frigate was captured, and an Earthling fled toward the sun in front of his fleet, whom he couldn't even catch.
But this also made him realize the potential of humanity. They decided not to exterminate all humans, but to capture a portion of them as slaves and conduct experiments.
Now, they are no longer simply destroying humanity's military power. They are preparing to accelerate the enslavement of humanity, establishing outposts, administrative facilities, and concentration camps on Earth to transform humans from "pests to be eradicated" into "usable labor."
Su Mo hovered in Earth's orbit, watching the descending transport ships, and took a deep breath.
call--
He exhaled a long breath, which condensed into white mist in the vacuum, and he felt the pressure in his chest being released with that breath.
Fortunately, only an hour had passed.
If he had remained unconscious for a few more days, or even just a few more hours, the Earth might have been taken over.
The ground resistance couldn't hold out for long. Without air cover, without heavy weapons, and with ammunition exhausted, the soldiers were fighting powered armor with rifles. They could hold out for an hour, they could hold out for a day, but not a week.
Su Mo floated in space, looking down at herself.
He was in such a rush, focused only on bursting out of the sun and flying back to Earth, that he completely neglected his physical condition. Now, he finally has time to check on himself.
All the wounds of varying sizes on his body—the scorch marks left by the battleship's main guns, the burn marks caused by the frigate's barrage, and the lacerations from missile shrapnel—had disappeared.
His skin was smooth and intact, as if he had never existed, without even a scar. The stamina he had exhausted in the pursuit and battle, if it was a river before, was now as abundant as an ocean.
He could feel the energy flowing through his veins was more abundant than ever before, and every cell was like a fully charged battery, ready to unleash amazing power at any moment.
He even felt his skin glowing slightly, a faint, warm glow emanating from deep within his skin, as if the sun's warmth still lingered on his body.
But why can we see the skin glowing?
Su Mo glanced down.
Completely naked.
His clothes had long since been torn to shreds in the previous battle and were now scattered in space. He was now floating naked in Earth's orbit, with the blue planet beneath his feet and the pitch-black universe above him.
Su Mo's face flushed slightly.
He quickly sculpted a makeshift suit of armor from some floating space debris. It still looked a bit strange, but at least it wasn't too embarrassing. Su Mo breathed a sigh of relief and then continued to examine his physical condition.
Nothing seemed amiss. Not only had his body fully recovered, but his strength had even multiplied several times over. Just like that? He gained such immense power? Only a third-rate writer would write something like that. (Yes, I am a third-rate author, hehehe.)
Su Mo frowned. His superhuman intellect was working at lightning speed, trying to find a reasonable explanation.
Could it be?
Su Mo's gaze slowly shifted to the bracelet on her left wrist.
The golden halo on the surface of the bracelet was still slowly swirling. It was brighter than before.
what.
An idea surfaced from the depths of his mind.
I understand.
Superman in the DC Universe is that powerful, isn't he? Why bother with so many things? As long as he can solve the crisis on Earth, that's enough.
Su Mo's lips curled up slightly. She happily put the problem out of her mind.
He flexed his fingers, feeling the new, immense power within him. He could feel as if there was a small sun inside him, endlessly radiating light and heat.
Su Mo was completely unaware of her own abnormality and ignored all the problems.
The power is indeed superhuman, that's Su Mo's most direct feeling right now, but it doesn't seem to be permanent. It's like the upper limit was temporarily increased after being immersed in the sun, and it should be permanently increased a little bit later, but the current version is a limited version.
That makes sense. It's like in a low-quality online game, when a new player is given a trial voucher for a max-level character during the early stages of the game. Otherwise, how would they trick players into spending money and keep them hooked? (Reminds me of Tencent's Temple Run.)
Su Mo complained at this moment.
He didn't notice that something else had flowed into his body from the bracelet earlier.
A wisp of extremely subtle, almost imperceptible energy also remained.
That energy was completely different from the Kryptonian power within him. It was older, more essential, more like some kind of raw material that constituted the universe itself. It had no color, no form, no temperature, but it was there, curled up in the deepest part of his body, like a sleeping seed. If Su Mo could see it, he would know that it was the material that created the DC multiverse—X-metal.
Along with this came a trace of the erosion of sixth-dimensional power. But Su Mo didn't sense it, nor did he know it.
His feeling at that moment could be summed up in one word—powerful.
He clenched his fist, looked down at Earth, at the descending alien transport ships, and at the dark, dense fleet in orbit.
Hehe, it's time to settle accounts.
