This game is so weird!

Chapter 101 Library

After passing through an underground tunnel, the Pioneers successfully entered the East Gate Military Academy.

"Marcus, data shows the geological robot's signal originated from the military academy's internal library. Please proceed to investigate immediately."

"Uh, I understand, Anya."

Marcus ducked behind the flower bed cover, dodging several bullets, and then pressed the microphone to reply.

"Our destination is the library ahead. Let's get going."

"good!"

Bard and Dom darted over from the side of the library, and leaned against the cover, saying, "Marcus, there are two armored personnel carriers behind us. I can go and repair them for evacuation."

"They're all broken."

"That's why I said I could fix it and use it for evacuation!"

Hearing Dom's mutterings, Bard retorted and then looked at Marcus.

"Then go fix it. Night Rain, some of you go help out, the rest of you come with me to the library to find information."

"OK!"

"OK, then I'll go with Bard," Little Black said. "Little White is badly injured, let's go to the back and help him rest."

Night Rain nodded to Little Black, "Then I'll leave it to you."

Little Black carried the weakened Little White along with Bard and Dom, dodging and advancing behind several covers, and soon they circled around the corner of the library.

"Let's go!"

After watching Bard and the others leave, Marcus gave the order and led the charge inside.

Meanwhile, the frontline base welcomed a team returning with spoils of war.

"Pooh!"

Muyu spat on the ground, stood at the door and rubbed his arms vigorously. After stopping the train on the nearby railway, they took turns carrying the corpses of several important orc soldiers back, intending to hand them over and then call more people to help move the rest.

"Hey, isn't this Muyu? You guys finished your mission?"

Just then, two teams of players walked over, led by Muyu's old friend, Ermiao. Ermiao stepped forward and patted Muyu on the shoulder in a boisterous manner, "Haven't seen you for days, how did you get so dirty, hahahaha."

"Brothers, help me move the orcs down."

At Er Miao's call, the six players who had been doing newbie quests with her and Er Wang smiled amicably and stepped forward to help move the corpse.

One of them even touched the rough arm of the berserk female orc and asked curiously, "Is this thing an orc? It's huge!"

"This was a big guy from the orcs; it took us a Black Duck and countless water bottles to kill it!"

"A black duck?"

"Hey! Don't badmouth me behind my back."

A player walked out of the base and slapped the wooden fish on the back, almost making him kneel down because his legs were already weak.

Mu Yu looked up and saw Black Duck staring at him with displeasure. He immediately smiled obsequiously and said, "Hehe, Brother Black Duck, let me explain."

"I won't listen, don't even think about lying to me!"

"Hehe, don't be like that, Brother Black Duck. I brought back all your loot, and even packed two bottles of Im Energy for you."

"Hehe, Brother Muyu," Black Duck chuckled, moving his hand from Muyu's shoulder to his arm to help him up. "I knew you were a good person!"

"Where are the things?"

Wooden Fish straightened up, took out two sealed bottles of Im Energy raw materials, and handed them to Black Duck, saying irritably, "The backpack is hanging on the female orc behind you, take it yourself."

Watching Black Duck happily leave to retrieve his backpack, Er Miao asked again, "How's the mission going? You didn't reply to my messages after logging off. The voice communication in the game doesn't work if you're too far from the base. If I didn't see you guys logging in every day, I would have thought you'd been kidnapped."

"Yeah, the in-game voice chat is so difficult to use."

Muyu shrugged and pointed to the pile of tears in his clothes. "Now I know how tough war is."

"These past two days, apart from logging off to rest, I haven't had a single moment of peace. I've been stuck in this dark cave day and night, and I can only log off after we've set up camp. I was almost exhausted to death. If it weren't for the fact that we could take turns logging off to replenish our energy, I really wouldn't have been able to keep going."

"The war in this game is so realistic. There are orcs everywhere, and there are so many different kinds. I really admire the Gears team for being able to hold out for so long."

"Haha, you guys have got quite a haul too." Er Miao pointed to the beastman corpse in the middle of the group and asked curiously, "What are that big guy in the middle and that octopus?"

"Why is there one that's glowing?"

"That's a treasure we found hundreds of meters underground; we're counting on it to make a fortune!"

Wooden Fish pointed to the three rare beast races and introduced them one by one: "The incredibly strong and invulnerable berserker female orc, the flying mount raider, and this one, first time seeing this, right? The legendary Holy Light conscript!"

"Uh, how did you come up with the same idea about Holy Light and forced labor...?"

"So what? In modern times, there are even cotton-picking machines blessed with holy water. Look here." Wood stepped forward and pried open the laborer's mouth. A pale yellow light flickered inside. "Isn't this real holy light? If we can cut some off after we've studied it, we could use it as a flashlight!"

"Um... something feels off, but it should be good as a decoration."

"Are you guys living devils...?" Black Duck, who had retrieved the backpack, walked over, rummaged through his pockets, and asked, "Where are the other power batteries in my bag? I was going to return them to Er Miao."

"Oh, I forgot to mention. Er Miao, we borrowed your power batteries, and the explosion effect was top-notch! Four of them collapsed one level of the cave. We'll have to get a few more later."

"You even blew up the cave!?"

"Why didn't you call me!" "Why didn't you wait for me!"

Two Meows and Black Duck shouted in unison, then looked at each other. Black Duck chuckled awkwardly, "It's like I'm dead, huh?"

"The power battery is a bit of a problem. I didn't bring many materials with me this time. It seems that the resources on the two maps, Scar and Sera, cannot be shared."

After thinking for a moment, Er Miao pointed to the commercial district and said, "It might be possible to transport it over after the spaceship is unlocked, or we could explore using the materials here to make it."

Following the direction Er Miao was pointing, Mu Yu looked curiously and asked, "I was just about to ask, how come the base has gotten so much bigger? What are that checkpoint outside and that castle over there?"

"Hehe," Er Miao chuckled, her eyes crinkling, "That's the office we built ourselves for Miss Anya of COG~"

"We haven't been idle these past three days while you were gone. The base has rescued a lot of homeless people, and then there have been some strange, expressionless players. It seems they're logging into the game using an emulator on a computer, but I haven't had a chance to talk to them yet."

"Oh, I see," Muyu said, glancing at the inspectors playing cards together at the checkpoint. His eyes darted around.

"Let's not talk about that now. Help me get some people to go to the back of the train and bring back the rest of the spoils. Also, this is Sofia from Team D. She's back to report to the office. Could you take her there, Er Miao?"

"See you in the guild hall later."

"Sofia?" Er Miao glanced at the Gears warrior whose gender was indiscernible beneath the armor, then turned to Er Wang and said:

"Erwang, you accompany Sophia to find Miss Anya. I'm taking some people to the train station. See you later!"
