HP: Wizards at Hogwarts

Chapter 18 Laifu, you smell so good!

Harry looked equally surprised.

He certainly didn't recognize the Ritz Hotel's luxurious afternoon tea, but that didn't stop him from thinking the food was high-class.

The deluxe meals from KFC and McDonald's alone were things he wouldn't normally even dare to dream of.

These foods look like they cost a lot of money, but didn't Elaine say that he used to be homeless?

"Is...this really okay?"

Elaine smiled and said, "Don't worry about it, just eat."

Anyway, I don't spend any money myself.

With Elaine's permission, Harry and Ron then began to work.

Ron couldn't wait any longer, grabbing a fried chicken leg in each hand and eating like a squirrel.

Harry, on the other hand, set his sights on the pastries.

He ate more politely than Ron, but he was still quite fast.

As for Elavin, he ate slowly and deliberately, just like before.

He'd gotten tired of both pastries and fried chicken over the past month—after all, this was England, what good food could one find here?

"Hmm... the fried chicken nuggets seem a bit cold."

Pastries aside, it's normal for fried chicken and hamburgers to get cold after being bought for a while.

But this didn't stump Elaine. He simply pulled out his wand and cast a simple heating spell.

"Heat it up quickly!"

In just a few seconds, the fried chicken burger warmed up again, emitting an enticing aroma that filled the entire carriage.

Harry and Ron were already used to Elaine's various methods, but they still couldn't suppress their curiosity after seeing him use the Healing Charm so skillfully.

"Eleven, you seem to know a lot of spells. Did you learn them all on your own?"

"That's right, I taught myself."

Hearing this, Harry became even more anxious: "Ron, you come from a wizarding family, you must know a lot of spells, right?"

Ron, who was enjoying his chicken leg, paused in his actions.

"Uh... well..."

"Actually, most young wizards don't know any spells before they start school, Harry, you don't need to worry too much."

Ron himself felt guilty saying those words.

Regardless of the situation of other wizarding families, the Weasleys are certainly not like that.

All of his older brothers displayed amazing magical talent before even entering school.

Even the least gifted twins had mastered more than thirty prank spells early on.

Ron once suspected that his parents had used up all their nutrients in their previous pregnancies, so when it came to giving birth to him, all that was left were waste and impurities...

Seemingly embarrassed by his words, Ron added, "Actually, George and Fred taught me a spell that turns the freckles yellow, which would make it more interesting, but my spell isn't very effective. Do you want to see it?"

"OK!"

"Please begin your performance!"

Ron nodded, rummaged through his suitcase for a while, and finally pulled out a wand. But before he could perform, the carriage door was opened from the outside.

"Excuse me, has anyone seen my toad?"

Neville Longbottom poked his head in, sobbing, "I lost it again! It always tries to run away from me!"

Here it comes!

The classic toad-finding challenge!

Just as Elaine was about to speak, he saw Harry and Ron turn to look at him at the same time.

"..."

Why are you two looking at me like that?

Haven't I been eating, chatting and talking with you all the whole time?

Do you think you wouldn't know if you've seen a toad?

However, Elaine quickly realized he was mistaken. The two weren't asking if he had seen it, but rather they thought they might be able to help the poor boy.

Help him?

Elivin raised an eyebrow, and a plan immediately came to mind.

"You're asking about your toad?"

He pointed to the bucket of fried chicken in front of him and gave a wicked smile.

"Sorry, we've already eaten it!"

"You ate Laifu?!"

Neville didn't have time to think or look closely before screaming and rushing into the carriage, grabbing the bucket of fried chicken on the table.

The aroma of hot fried chicken burgers wafted over, and Neville couldn't help but swallow hard.

But he didn't forget his friendship with Laifu, and quickly started searching inside.

"Waaaah..."

"Laifu, you died such a terrible death!"

"But it smells so good..."

The bucket was filled with yellowish-white, fragrant, crispy, and tender substances, making it impossible to tell which one was Laifu's corpse.

Neville was devastated by his pet's "death." His eyes instantly welled up with tears, and snot streamed down his face, soaking him with drool.

As expected, Navee's cries of distress drew the attention of passengers in the surrounding carriages.

However, the first one to be drawn to the area was a disheveled little witch—Hermione Granger.

"Nawi, Nawi..."

"So, have you found your lucky charm yet?"

Neville turned around, clutching the bucket of fried chicken, and said in a choked voice, "Laifu... Laifu was eaten by them..."

Hermione was completely bewildered: "What do you mean??"

"Look..."

Neville shoved the bucket of fried chicken forward like a bullied kid tattling to his parents: "They not only caught Lucky, but they also blew him up beyond recognition!!"

Hermione looked down.

Good guy!

KFC?

No, it seems to be McDonald's?

If this thing were your Laifu, I'd pull out my two front teeth!

Wizarding families generally don't eat KFC or McDonald's, so Neville didn't recognize these things, while Hermione, being from Muggle society, naturally recognized at a glance that the food in front of her was just fried chicken and hamburgers.

The clever little witch immediately realized that Neville had been tricked, and she glared at the three people in the carriage with hostility.

"I think you need to apologize to Neville properly!"

He's already mentally challenged, and you all ganged up on him to bully him. Don't you have any humanity?!

Harry quickly got up to explain.

"I'm sorry, Elaine was just joking."

"The three of us stayed together after we got on the bus, and we didn't see any toads."

Upon hearing this, Neville immediately stopped crying: "A joke? You...you mean...this isn't my Laifu?"

"Of course not!"

Harry chuckled wryly, "Look closely, there are only fried chicken wings, fried chicken legs, fried chicken nuggets, and fries in here. There's no toad at all!"

Neville looked down and saw that it was true, which finally put his mind at ease.

"Thank goodness..."

Glug glug~

He got hungry as soon as he relaxed, and Neville blushed with embarrassment upon realizing his repeated lapses in composure.

"Why don't you sit down and eat something to calm your nerves?"

"Anyway, we probably won't be able to find that toad anytime soon."

Elaine waved to the two of them, showing no embarrassment at having just pranked them.

He did want to help find the toad, but the Spell of the Flying Toad required a clear impression of the target, and since he had never seen Lai Fu, he had to give up.

"...Alright then."
