HP: Wizards at Hogwarts

Chapter 23 This must be Hogwarts' entrance test for us.

Under a deep purple sky, a range of mountains and forests appeared exceptionally serene and mysterious.

At the same time, a loud voice echoed through the train.

"The train will arrive at Hogwarts in five minutes. Please leave your luggage on the train, and we will take it to the school for you."

The three quickly changed into robes, packed their luggage, and cleaned up the trash.

Before long, the train gradually slowed down and came to a complete stop with a "whoosh" sound.

Elaine, along with Harry and Ron, followed the crowd off the train and onto a small, dark platform.

The chill of the night made many of the young wizards shiver.

"Why aren't there streetlights here?" Harry asked.

"Because Muggle technology fails in a magical environment," Ron explained.

Ron's father, Arthur, works at the Ministry of Magic as the head of the Division for the Prevention of the Misuse of Muggle Items, so he has some understanding of how Muggle technology will be affected in the wizarding world.

"Another reason is that, as wizards, we have a more convenient way of doing things."

Elaine gestured with his chin as he spoke.

Harry followed his gaze and saw that many senior wizards had already taken out their wands and used the 'Glowing Charm'.

"First-year students! First-year students, come here!!"

"Harry, come this way, are you alright?"

A loud voice came from not far away.

At the same time, an oil lamp appeared more than three meters high in the darkness.

As the oil lamp drew closer, everyone could finally see the person carrying it—a giant over three meters tall.

"It's Hagrid!" Harry exclaimed excitedly as he ran over.

Elaine and Ron, along with the other first-year students, followed at a leisurely pace.

Just then, Elaine noticed a gaze fixed intently on Harry.

It's Malfoy!

"He's recovered?" Ron whispered.

"He probably got a senior wizard to remove the Transfiguration spell."

Elaine wasn't surprised; after all, Malfoy was the son of a board member, and the academy certainly had no shortage of pure-blooded forces dependent on his family.

The first-year students and the senior wizards parted ways, following Hagrid down a dark and narrow slope.

"It's really dark here, I can't even see where I'm going," Ron muttered to himself.

Elaine nodded and took his wand from his sleeve.

"Fluorescent lights!"

In an instant, a white ball of light the size of a billiard ball shot out from the tip of the wand.

The ball of light grew rapidly upon contact with the wind, becoming as large as a yoga ball in the blink of an eye. It floated quietly above everyone's heads, illuminating the entire path as if it were daytime.

"Wow!!"

"That's amazing!!"

"This is the Glowing Charm; I've seen it in a book!"

The young wizards cheered and turned to look at Elivin, their eyes filled with admiration.

Hagrid, who was walking in front, noticed the change behind him and was secretly surprised. He looked at Elaine with admiration.

"What a perfect glow spell!"

"This is the first time I've seen a first-year student use the Glowing Charm so skillfully!"

"Looks like my lamp is useless now."

Harry quickly introduced him to Hagrid: "His name is Elaine, he's a friend I met on the train."

"No wonder he's Harry; he's already made such amazing friends so soon after arriving!"

"I imagine your life at Hogwarts will be fantastic!"

Hagrid knew that Harry's life at the Dursleys' house was terrible; he was abused and had no friends. So when he heard that Harry had made friends, he was genuinely happy for him.

At the end of the narrow path was a black lake, and on the high hillside on the opposite shore stood a magnificent castle.

The castle is topped with spires, and its windows twinkle under the starry sky, as if it had stepped out of a fairy tale, full of mystery and fantasy, inspiring endless imagination.

Many small wooden boats were moored on the shore.

Hagrid boarded one himself and then pointed to the other small wooden boats, shouting to the crowd.

"No more than four people per boat!"

Elivin dispersed the large orb of light above his head, led Ron to find Harry, and together with a boy he didn't recognize, the four of them shared a boat.

"Has everyone boarded the ship?"

"Alright... let's move forward!!"

Small boats glided across the lake, heading towards Hogwarts.

Everyone remained silent.

It's unclear whether they were overwhelmed by the sights of Hogwarts or too nervous to speak because they were about to step into the magical world.

After an unknown amount of time, the small boat reached the center of the lake.

"It's time to do something exciting!"

Elaine suddenly stood up.

"What did you say?"

Harry, Ron, and the unknown boy on the same boat all looked up at the same time.

The unknown boy was still completely bewildered, while Harry and Ron, who already knew a little about Elaine, immediately sensed something was amiss.

Elivin gave the three of them a mysterious smile.

next moment.

"Ice-inspired Silver World!!"

Swish-! ! !

In the blink of an eye.

The sky and earth were silvery white, and the cold wind was biting.

The surrounding temperature instantly dropped below zero.

The entire Black Lake froze into ice, with the ice layer extending dozens of meters underwater. All the wooden boats were stuck on the ice, unable to move forward or backward.

Clang, clang—

Due to inertia, the young wizards on the wooden boat had close encounters with their classmates.

Before the young wizards could even understand what was happening, they felt a bone-chilling cold wash over them.

"yawn--!"

"It's so cold!!"

"What happened??"

"Oh no, the lake is frozen!!"

"Are you kidding me? It's only September!!"

"It's really frozen, I'm not kidding!!"

"Merlin! It's actually true!!"

"What on earth is going on?!"

The young wizards had never seen anything like this before and immediately panicked.

Of course, many young wizards also had excited smiles on their faces.

"Magic! It must be magic!!"

"Their ability to instantly change the terrain and weather is amazing!!"

The sudden turn of events left Hagrid completely bewildered.

Let alone the group of young wizards who are about to enroll, even he, who has been a freshman guide at Hogwarts for so many years, has never seen such a scene!

"Quiet! Everyone, quiet!!"

Hagrid's roar finally gave the young wizards a sense of security, and they gradually quieted down.

Just then, a memory appeared in Hagrid's mind.

Hagrid, without a doubt, immediately carried out the order as instructed by someone he remembered.

"Listen up, everyone!"

"This is Hogwarts' entrance test for you!"

"I think you've all heard of the Sorting Test, right?"

"This is the first hurdle!"

"Below the cliff ahead, there's a port similar to the one we just saw. Only those who arrive there within thirty minutes will be accepted into Hogwarts!"

"If you fail, you will be sent to the 'hell realm' to face even more severe trials!!"

"Now, everyone disembark and run forward!"

"Timer...start!!"
