HP: Wizards at Hogwarts

Chapter 43 The Crown is in Hand

Due to the unexpected appearance of Myrtle, the bath took longer than expected.

When Elaine emerged from the prefectural washroom, it was past midnight.

"Good heavens, I actually took a hot bath for so long?!"

Normal people will experience various adverse symptoms after bathing for more than 20 minutes. Although wizards' constitutions are slightly different, they will definitely not exceed 30 minutes.

But what about yourself?

It's been almost two hours since I entered the restroom!

This is absolutely incredible!

Fortunately, Elaine knew why he was acting this "abnormally".

It's definitely a system problem!

The attribute boosts from the four character cards summoned by the system—including one gold card—have made Elivin's physical abilities far superior to those of normal humans!

"Since it's past midnight anyway, we might as well wander around the castle a bit before heading back."

Elivin pondered for a few seconds, then walked towards the stairs not far away.

While we're supposed to be strolling around, we can't just wander aimlessly; we need a destination.

After much deliberation, Elaine decided to go to the Room of Requirement on the eighth floor and get his hands on Ravenclaw's tiara.

Anyway, I'll eventually have to buy this thing, so it's better to get it sooner rather than leave it there.

Da da da……

Elaine's footsteps were light and slow, but they still echoed in the empty and quiet corridor.

Just as he stepped onto the last step and reached the eighth floor, a white figure suddenly darted out from the darkness.

A white figure landed gracefully, with elegant posture and light movements. The moment the figure froze, a loud shout echoed through the corridor.

"Meow—"

A white cat?!

It's Mrs. Lorice!

Almost instantly, Elaine recognized the white cat—even though he had never seen it before.

"This is troublesome!"

Since Mrs. Lorris is here, Filch must be here too.

The next second, Elaine indeed heard an angry roar.

"Which troublemaker is there?!"

"Sneaking out at night instead of sleeping? I'll arrest you and lock you up in solitary confinement!"

Immediately following was the sound of footsteps even more hurried than the roar.

Filch had a limp in one leg, so he wasn't very fast, but he made a lot of noise, making it seem as if what was rushing towards him wasn't a person, but a wild dog that hadn't eaten for three days and three nights and had suddenly discovered fresh raw meat.

Without thinking twice, Elaine immediately pulled a magic wand from his sleeve.

"Disappeared without a trace!"

"This is misleading!"

The Illusion Spell makes one's body transparent;

The Confusion Spell causes confusion in all perceptions of oneself, including appearance, sound, smell, and even existence itself.

With the two spells combined, unless it's a wizard of the caliber of the four academy deans, no one would be able to detect Elaven's presence.

Just as Elaine finished casting the spell, a beam of light shone from the front, and along with the light appeared Filch's fierce and hideous ugly face.

"Nobody here? They ran pretty fast!?"

Filch carried the oil lamp and shone it in all directions, but he saw nothing.

He looked down at Mrs. Lorris.

Mrs. Loris responded with a helpless meow: "Meow~ (Don't look at me, you came too late, there's nothing I can do if you run away)"

"That person must have run downhill; he couldn't have gone far!"

Filch was still unwilling to give up, so he grabbed an oil lamp, took Mrs. Lorris, and hurriedly ran up to the seventh floor.

Once the lights disappeared from sight, Elaine finally appeared.

"This Filch... his professional skills need improvement!"

Shaking his head, Elaine continued walking forward, trying to recall the location of the Room of Requirement.

"The location of the Room of Requirement, I remember, is..."

As he walked down the corridor, Elaine's gaze swept over the portraits.

Finally, he stopped in front of the tapestry painting "The Giant Beats Barnabas".

"This is it! Right across from this painting!"

Elaine turned around excitedly. Opposite the portrait was a completely blank wall, which made him even more certain of his memory.

So he paced back and forth between the portrait and the blank wall, silently thinking, "I need a place to hide things."

After he walked back and forth three times, a wooden door gradually appeared on the blank wall.

Filled with anticipation, Elaine pushed open the door and went inside.

The room was dimly lit and cluttered with various odds and ends, looking no different from any other ordinary storage room.

"So, where is Ravenclaw's crown?"

"If I remember correctly, it was on... a statue near the Vanishing Cabinet?"

Compared to a crown, a statue or a large cabinet is much easier to find.

Soon, he found the Vanishing Cabinet, the statue, and the crown.

The moment the crown was in hand, an evil aura swept over them.

Without thinking much, Elaine grabbed a box from the side, threw the crown inside, found a piece of cloth, wrapped the box tightly with three layers of cloth, and finally threw the whole thing into his spatial pocket.

"Done!"

After that, as long as you learn Fiendfire, or wait for the basilisk to appear, you can destroy this thing.

Elaine clapped his hands, preparing to leave.

Before leaving, he glanced at the vanishing cabinet in front of him.

There are two vanishing cabinets, connected as one. By putting something into one cabinet and casting a spell, the item can be made to come out of the other cabinet.

Now there are two cabinets, this one is here, and the other is in the Bojinbok store, although that one is broken.

Elaine hesitated for a moment, but still did not choose to take the cabinet away.

If someone uses another cabinet to smuggle something into their own spatial pocket from there, that would be troublesome.

After leaving the Room of Requirement, Elaine went straight back to the Hufflepuff lounge.

The journey was uneventful; they encountered neither Filch nor Mrs. Lorris, nor did they meet the mischievous Pippi, or any other nocturnal boys.

When Elaine returned to his room, it was already past 1 a.m.

He cast the "Cleanse" spell on himself again before finally lying comfortably on the soft bed.

"What a busy day!"

……

What Elaine didn't know was that he wasn't the only one busy that night; there were hundreds of owls as well.

First-year students should tell their parents which college they have been assigned to.

Senior pure-blood and half-blood wizards should also tell their elders about what happened tonight.

They might not quite understand the meaning behind Elaine's three statements at the Sorting Ceremony—"Hogwarts is a breeding ground for prejudice," "Have the Twenty-Eight Holy Races always existed?" and "For the greater good"—

But they knew that drawing the Gryffindor sword would be big news that would shock the entire wizarding world!
