HP: Wizards at Hogwarts

Chapter 48: It's just a point deduction, nothing's more important than eating.

I had carefully prepared a cool and impressive opening line, but I couldn't say it when it came to the end.

Who can understand this helplessness and humiliation?

Snape quietly clenched his fist.

He felt that no one present could possibly understand how he was feeling.

However, even though he was extremely angry, he could only skip that sentence and continue speaking at a faster pace.

"...I can teach you how to increase your reputation, cultivate glory, and even prevent death—but there is one condition: you must not be the kind of fools I often encounter."

"Class is now beginning!!"

After quickly finishing his opening remarks, Snape began the lesson immediately.

The first lesson involved explaining and making a remedy for scabies. Elaine and Ernie were paired together, and both did an excellent job.

The other students also did well.

Needless to say, the students of Ravenclaw are all studious children who have long since memorized every step of the potion-making process.

As for the young wizards of Hufflepuff, although they didn't memorize the procedures in advance like the Ravenclaw students, they were diligent and followed the instructions in the textbook step by step, and nothing too serious happened.

Of course, this only applies to the majority of students.

With about thirty students from the two houses, it's inevitable that one or two would be a little clumsy. When they made mistakes while brewing potions, they received points deducted from Snape's score.

After two long lectures in the morning, the scores for the two colleges are as follows:

Ravenclaw: 3 players penalized, total score -10

Hufflepuff: 5 players deducted points, total score -20

Are they hoping Snape will give extra points to the students who successfully brew the potion?

He must have lost his mind!

After finishing two potions classes, Elaine and his friends packed up their tools and met up at the cafeteria for lunch.

Halfway there, a voice called out to him.

"Elevin!"

Upon hearing the voice, Elaine turned around and saw that it was Hermione.

"Oh, it's you, Hermione. Want to go to the cafeteria for lunch together?"

Hermione's eyes widened instantly: "You actually have the appetite to eat?!"

Elaine was completely baffled by her appearance.

Why am I not in the mood?

"Has any of you been injured while brewing potions?"

He looked at his friends, and they all shook their heads.

"That……"

Elaine then looked at Hermione again. "Is there something you didn't understand about the steps for making the scabies medicine this morning? Or are you having a disagreement with your roommates and want to ask for help?"

Hermione's face immediately darkened, and she helplessly tossed her long, messy hair: "It's not my problem, it's your problem!"

"I have no problem!"

"Your problem is that you don't realize you have a problem!"

Hermione retorted angrily, "Why did you speak ill of Potions in front of Professor Snape this morning?"

"……ha??"

Elaine frowned, paused for two seconds, and asked, "Do you really like Potions? Or do you particularly like Professor Snape?"

"Neither!"

Hermione said very seriously, "I can understand you talking about 'biology' and 'chemistry' with your friends before Professor Snape arrived this morning; but when you realized Professor Snape had arrived, you immediately changed your tune and said 'Potions Mastery also has its advantages'."

"This shows that you are well aware of the consequences of saying such things in front of a professor."

"But why did you later say things like 'Potential Studies is inferior to Biochemistry'? That sounded like... like you were deliberately provoking Professor Snape."

Despite feeling that Hermione's arrival was quite unexpected, Elaine still answered the question seriously.

"You were there this morning, so you should have heard the sarcastic things he said to me."

"Who could tolerate this?!"

Hermione's expression grew anxious: "But...but we're students. Going against a professor at Hogwarts doesn't do us any good!"

"Look, because of your tough attitude, the entire academy has been deducted ten points."

For a fleeting moment, Elaine almost thought that the person who had been penalized wasn't him but her, not Hufflepuff but Ravenclaw.

"So what if I lost ten points? It's no big deal."

"College credits can't put food on the table."

"You agree, right?"

Elaine looked at his friends beside him as he spoke.

Ernie, Justin, Hannah, Susan, and the others all burst into laughter.

"That's absolutely right, Elaine... no, boss! From now on, I'll call you boss!"

"We Hufflepuffs aren't in a hurry, so why are you, a Ravenclaw, so anxious?"

"I wonder what we'll have for lunch today? I'd like beef ramen..."

"I'm on a diet, so I'll just eat vegetable salads."

Elaine smiled with satisfaction, then turned to look at Hermione again: "You see, nobody cares about the points deduction."

"Besides, I could never bow down to a professor who is biased and enjoys bullying students!"

Having said that, Elaine didn't linger any longer and led Ernie and the others towards the dining hall, leaving Hermione standing there in a daze.

"You...this...is not...me..."

What's going on with this group of people?!

They don't care about arguing with professors in class, they don't care about getting points deducted from the academy, all they care about is what to eat for lunch. Is this the atmosphere of Hufflepuff?!

I just can't understand it!

Shortly after Elaine and the others left, Harry and Ron arrived together.

"Hey, isn't that Hermione?!"

"Yes, it's her! But... what happened to her?"

"I look a bit like I've been petrified."

Ron reached out and poked Hermione. "It doesn't seem so. Her body is still soft and warm."

Hermione finally snapped out of her daze and glared at Ron: "What are you doing?!"

"Ah...no, I saw you standing here alone, so..."

"Hermione, Ron and I were just worried about you. Did something happen?"

"Well, here's the situation. This morning..."

Hermione hesitated for a few seconds, then recounted in detail what had happened in Potions class that morning, her questioning of Elaine, and Elaine's reaction, to Harry and Ron, as if she desperately wanted to find some emotional resonance with them.

"So, you guys think they're weird too, right?"

"I think you're the weirder one."

Ron, always outspoken, immediately defended Elivin.

"They're right, it was Elaine who caused Hufflepuff to lose points, not you who caused Ravenclaw to lose points."

"Even the Hufflepuff students aren't worried, so why are you?"
