Chapter 72 The Slytherin Students Who Stir Up Trouble
On Wednesday afternoon, Elaine taught Harry, Hermione, Malfoy, and others the shape-shifting technique of the Glowing Charm at the Study Club.
Suddenly, the classroom door was kicked open with a bang, and a large group of people walked in.
The members of the club all stopped what they were doing and looked at the group of menacing guys with suspicion.
Judging from their school uniforms and height, this group of people were clearly Slytherin students in their fifth year or above.
"Is he from Slytherin?"
"What are they doing here?"
"Do they also want to join the study club?"
"Come on, look at their attitude. Do they look like they're here to learn? I bet they're just here to cause trouble!"
Harry frowned; his intuition told him something was wrong. He quickly moved closer to Elaine and whispered a warning, "Be careful, Elaine, they look like they're here to cause trouble."
"I'm very familiar with that look. Back in elementary school, Dali and his friends would always approach me like that and then beat me up for all sorts of reasons."
This left Elaine speechless.
"What kind of life did you have in elementary school...?"
Since it was based on the experience of a seasoned bully, Elaine naturally believed it.
In fact, even without Harry's reminder, anyone with eyes could see that the man was up to no good.
Just then, Elaine noticed that Draco's expression was very strange, as if he had been constipated for several days and his intestines were blocked.
"Hey, Draco! What do you know?"
Malfoy looked embarrassed and avoided eye contact: "Well..."
"If you know anything, just say it!" Hermione urged.
Ron sneered, "No need to guess, he must have told the Slytherins to come and cause trouble for our society. I told you he'd become a traitor to the society sooner or later..."
Upon hearing this, Malfoy jumped up and down in panic: "I didn't! I'm not a traitor!!"
But as Harry, Hermione, Ron, Elaine, and the others turned their gazes toward Malfoy, his voice grew softer and his tone more and more guilty.
"What about Crabbe and Goyle, who usually follow you around?"
Malfoy's mental defenses crumbled at Harry's words; his head drooped instantly, and he stammered, unable to utter a single word.
"They're over there!" Hermione pointed.
Following her gaze, everyone saw the two chubby boys mixed in with the Slytherin army that had entered.
Malfoy also saw the two and was immediately taken aback: "What?! They actually went! I specifically told them not to do that..."
"So what exactly are they trying to do?" Elaine pressed.
Malfoy paused for two seconds, then quickly and concisely recounted the whole story.
The root of this matter is still Elaine.
Since entering Hogwarts, Elaine has used his superior strength and charisma to bring together the young wizards, especially the first-year students, almost all of whom he recruited into the "Study Club" he founded.
This incident caused great anxiety among the upperclassmen of Slytherin House.
Admittedly, they felt that what Elaine said at the Sorting Ceremony and what he had done during this period was truly remarkable.
They also believed that, given time, Elaine could truly change the atmosphere at Hogwarts and even the entire wizarding world.
But they were well aware that they were nearing graduation, and how Hogwarts would change in the future was no longer of much concern to them.
In the past few years, the family has paved the way for their future lives.
Upon graduation, they had to busy themselves with family affairs, leaving them no time to change their own or even the family's development path. Of course, they couldn't abandon everything they had now to join Elavin's fledgling group.
It wasn't that Elaine did anything wrong, but rather that they were simply unlucky to have the right timing!
Since I can't change it myself, I must ensure that the next generation of pure-blood wizards and the generation after that follow the original path.
This is similar to certain workplace cultures where if newcomers don't follow the rules established by their predecessors, it will be an incredibly heavy blow to those who came before.
Of course, there are also people in Slytherin who don't truly approve of Elaine.
This group formed a "Boycott Elaine" organization, aiming to reduce Elaine's influence on Hogwarts, especially on Slytherin students, as much as possible.
For the past week, they've been forcing students to stand in line almost every night in the common room, making life miserable for the younger students.
Draco is the young master of the Malfoy family, a family with a strong foundation. He also has the order from his father Lucius to "get close to Elavin," so of course he is not afraid of the "Anti-Elavin Organization" doing these things. He can do whatever he wants and take whichever side he wants.
However, the families behind Crabbe and Goyle were not strong enough to support their stance of deviating from the pure-blood wizarding order.
So they betrayed the Study Club, and even now they want to take Malfoy with them.
As Malfoy finished explaining the situation, the Slytherin army arrived before Elaine.
Elaine stopped what he was doing and strolled over to meet him.
"Hey seniors, what are you doing?"
"If you also want to join the study club and improve together with everyone, you need to apply through the club first."
He had actually anticipated that the Slytherin students might come looking for trouble, but he hadn't expected them to be so bold as to come openly.
He had thought that this group would be a little more discreet in their actions.
Elaine thought to himself that if he were to do these things, he would definitely take advantage of the nighttime outing to launch a sneak attack, so that no one would know!
Just as Elaine finished speaking, a Slytherin upperclassman with an ugly face and a burly build took a step forward and stared at Elaine with an extremely fierce look.
"Stop grinning at me, Elavin Yakut!"
"We're here today for only one thing: to let all the Slytherin students in the 'Study Club' escape!"
"Otherwise, you will be an enemy of the pure-blood family!"
"If you don't know what that means, let me tell you now—it means that from now on, you'll find it incredibly difficult to move an inch in the magical world!!"
Elivin narrowed his eyes.
"Gryffindor left behind a sword; did Slytherin leave you a sword too?"
"Who gave you the courage to speak to me?"
A chill emanated from Elaine, and the Slytherins shivered.
"In our study group, all members are free to come and go!"
"I won't stop any member from leaving if they want to, but if they want to stay, no one can force them to leave!"
"Don't even mention making enemies of pure-blood families; even if Voldemort were here today, I'd still chase him down without hesitation!"
