America, starting as a trainee police officer

Chapter 7 The evidence is now conclusive.

"I'm arresting a criminal, can't you see?"

Li Wei was speechless.

Of course, Fiona didn't care whether Frank would be arrested.

She only wanted the money in Frank's hand.

"Hey, listen. I know this is a bit against the rules, but I really need the money in his pocket. This guy lives with me, but he's never contributed a single penny to household expenses."

"Could you make an exception and give me his money?"

Fiona, just as she said, only wanted money.

"Fuck No! Don't give it to her! That's my money! If you dare give her my money, I will definitely sue you!"

Frank was terrified that Levi would actually give the money to Fiona, and he kept struggling on the ground.

Li Wei held him down with one hand while coldly looking at Fiona: "Strictly speaking, this money belongs to the California Disability Welfare Agency. You two."

As he spoke, Levi looked at Frank again.

"Nobody will get their hands on this money!"

After saying that, he took out his phone and dialed 911.

"Really? Does it have to be this way? Do you know how hard it is to make money these days?"

Fiona looked at Levi with a hint of despair.

"Oh, really? Is it that difficult? Then how come you still have time to go clubbing with your best friend? Is there no work available at this hour?"

Li Wei retorted sarcastically without hesitation.

"You even have time to flirt with men? Shouldn't you be focused on making money and supporting your whole family?"

After he said that, Fiona was speechless.

Steve happened to catch up, as if to prove that Levi was absolutely right.

"Hey, what happened?"

Steve looked at the expressions on their faces, somewhat puzzled.

Fiona broke down, ignoring Steve beside her, and stared intently at Levi.

She didn't understand why Levi would treat her this way. She and Tony had known each other for a long time, and the kind of police officer she knew shouldn't be like Levi.

Ignoring Steve, Li Wei picked up his phone again, ready to dial 911.

Before he could even dial the number, Li Wei suddenly realized something was wrong.

Where are my system rewards? Why haven't they arrived yet?

"System, what's going on?"

He couldn't help but ask himself the question.

Currently, there is no conclusive evidence to prove that Frank Gallagher committed insurance fraud or forgery, and the police department cannot transfer the case to the district attorney for prosecution. The arrest has been ruled invalid; please gather sufficient evidence before proceeding with the arrest.

Upon seeing this information, Li Wei's face darkened.

I didn't expect to have overlooked this detail.

The three digits 911 have been entered into the phone screen; all that's left is to press the dial button.

"Damn it!"

Li Wei stood up, looked at Frank who was handcuffed to the ground, and his mind raced.

Arresting Frank without evidence is pointless.

Just let him go like that?

To be honest, this is really frustrating. Li Wei is unwilling to let a scoundrel like Frank win even a single point.

He took a deep breath and went over the details in his mind.

The system just alerted me that Frank is the target of a crime.

That means Frank was indeed breaking the law.

In that case, the evidence must be nearby.

Suddenly, Li Wei realized something.

The system alerted Frank that his ongoing criminal activities were fraud and forgery.

That means the forged documents he created must be nearby.

With a quick glance, everything became clear.

These bars in America offer a service where they can cash checks on behalf of people with poor credit scores.

For someone like Frank, if he were to cash a check himself, the money would be frozen the moment it was deposited into his account.

His credit rating was so bad it couldn't be worse, or rather, the Gallagher family's credit rating was all negative.

This is largely thanks to Frank, who started applying for credit cards using Fiona's identity when they were young.

After figuring it out, Li Wei smiled confidently.

It's just like those anglers who have caught a big fish.

He immediately pressed the dial button.

"911, emergency call center, how can I help you?"

"This is trainee Constable V. Lee, Constable number 33357, off-duty. He is currently holding a male suspect on suspicion of fraud and forgery. The location is 300 meters from the back alley exit of the Alley Bar at 119 North Wallace Street. The suspect has been subdued. Requesting on-duty officers to take over."

"Li 33357, received. We are dispatching officers to the scene. They are expected to arrive in five minutes. Please wait where you are."

"Officer 33357 received."

After saying that, Li Wei hung up the phone, squatted down and looked at Frank: "Enjoy your time in jail."

After saying that, he pulled Frank up roughly.

"Hey, can't you be a little gentler with the crab?! I'm going to report you for using excessive force!"

Frank was still shouting.

In a good mood, Levi unlocked the handcuffs on one of Frank's hands and handcuffed Frank to a nearby water pipe.

Even though it's nighttime now, no matter how fast Kevin works, the evidence proving Frank's fraud and forgery won't be ready to be sent to the bank and cashed until tomorrow.

But Li Wei didn't want anything to cause any trouble.

He ignored Fiona's glare that seemed to want to devour him whole, and Steve's bewildered expression, and swaggered back to Alabay.

...

Allebai.

When Li Wei returned, he plopped down on the high stool at the front desk.

Frank was a little dirty during the arrest.

"Hey, what brings our policeman back already?"

Veronica teased Levi playfully.

Li Wei ignored her and instead waved to Kevin: "Hey, you, bartender, come here for a second."

"Is there anything I can help you with, officer?"

Kevin learned about Levi's police identity through Veronica.

"Give me a vodka, on the rocks."

"Okay, just a moment." Kevin nodded and began pouring wine for Levi.

During the process, Li Wei glanced at the worktable behind Kevin.

They discovered some documents placed right next to the cash box.

"Your vodka, officer."

After Kevin placed the wine in front of him, Levi pointed to the forged documents Frank had prepared: "Could you show me those papers? Frank just gave them to you, right?"

Kevin was taken aback when he heard this.

Not being very bright, he naturally couldn't understand what had happened, but Veronica, who was standing next to him, understood immediately.

He immediately started frantically giving Kevin meaningful glances, signaling him not to hand the things over to Levi.

Unfortunately, Kevin was born from inbreeding, and he wasn't very bright; he couldn't understand what Veronica was really trying to say even after watching for a long time.

"V, what happened to your eyes? Did you get sand in them?"

Upon hearing this, Veronica was filled with despair. She covered her face, speechless.

Levi smiled as he took the forged documents from Kevin.

The system notification sound followed.

Mission Completed: Arrest Frank Gallagher. Reward: 10 Basic Attribute Points

Just as he had imagined, Frank is now set for life in jail.

Forgery is a felony in California.

Given Frank's actions, if proven true, he would most likely be sentenced to eight years in prison.

Of course, with a decent lawyer, Frank would have a high chance of reaching an out-of-court settlement. With a bit of luck, he might not even have to go to jail.

But he got the reward anyway, didn't he?

Whether Frank received real punishment or not, what does that have to do with him?

Just as Li Wei had put away the evidence and was preparing to go out to wait for his colleagues to come to the scene and hand it over to him.

Fiona stormed out the back door, ran straight to Levi, glared at him, and demanded fiercely, "What the hell's wrong with you?"
