I train Batman in a horror world

Chapter 19: a bottle of water

Bruce became somewhat silent.

The joy of arriving home was now overshadowed by an unknown emotion.

He instinctively looked at Fowle.

I remember Fu Er telling me that Gotham, like the hotel, is alive.

The hotel itself is eerie and fantastical enough.

So, what does it depict...Gotham?

"Look at you, so cowardly! You'd be better off just staying in the Batcave, why do you have to keep babbling!"

"You scared my baby bat!" Fowler yelled, pointing at a corner of the room. "Apologize!"

"But Bruce doesn't look like a bat at all..."

"You dare talk back?!"

"sorry!"

Because of Fowler, Bruce could naturally sense the hotel's changing mood.

Its fear is not fake.

It's true that it's afraid of Foul.

It is true that it fears the city of Gotham.

At this moment, Fowler approached Bruce, turning his head 180 degrees:

"What are you thinking about?"

"It's nothing."

Bruce shook his head, his interest clearly unreadable.

He slowly raised his eyes and met Fowler's dark, abyss-like pupils.

"Is this why you made me bring it back? To let the hotel tell me what Gotham is like?"

"How could that be!" Foul cried out, protesting his innocence. "I just thought a living Batcave would be interesting!"

"..."

Bruce lowered his eyelids and didn't say anything more.

Regarding the fact that Gotham is alive, Fol had already given Bruce a heads-up.

Bruce thought he could accept it.

But when the truth is presented to us again.

He didn't even know how... to think?

Seeing the bat cub's absent-minded state, Foul scratched his ear.

He said, "Actually, I feel that if I were to explain this, the more I talk, the more silent you'll become. And some things aren't that complicated, but they're not that simple either... This seems like a pointless statement... Never mind."

At this point, Foul noticed that Bruce still didn't react much.

Then, the bat suddenly spread its wings and cried out:

"So I've decided to give up!"

"...?"

Bruce glanced at the bat helplessly.

"Of course, it's definitely not about abandoning your training. It's just that I think Mr. Fu's in-laws are more suitable to explain this to you than I am, since you and he are both locals anyway."

The voice just fell.

Bruce was still pondering who "Fox's in-laws" were.

There was a knock on the door.

The knocking merely announced his arrival; it did not shut out the person knocking.

A butler who wasn't too old walked in.

His gaze fell on the boy sitting cross-legged on the bed, and then he glanced at the bat on the boy's body.

After noticing his gaze, the bat deliberately flapped its wings as a greeting.

Alfred smiled slightly and nodded in acknowledgment.

Then his gaze fell on his young master once again.

"It's great to have you back, Master Bruce."

"Afu..."

......

For Alfred, the butler, Bruce’s sudden departure was naturally a major event.

Young Master Bruce simply left a message and then disappeared.

Alfred had sworn at the graves of Mr. Thomas and Mrs. Martha that he would take care of the child with his life.

As the butler, how could he not care?

Fortunately, Bruce was only gone for a short time, returning in about a day.

Now I see the young master sitting on the bed, completely unharmed.

The huge weight on my heart can finally be lifted.

"So you were secretly skiing while you were gone, my young master?"

Alfred first took off Bruce's coat, which was damp with snowflakes, and then changed him into a brand new, warm set of clothes.

Bruce remained obediently where he was, despite the butler's teasing.

He pursed his lips and said softly, "I thought you would be angry."

Alfred laughed, "Aren't you taking me skiing with you?"

Upon hearing this, Bruce wrinkled his little nose immediately. "Ah Fu, you know what I'm talking about!"

"Well..."

After changing all of the young master's clothes.

Alfred turned around, picked up a cup of prepared hot cocoa, and intended to hand it to his young master.

However, just as his fingers were about to touch the armrest of the teacup.

The cup moved on its own!

It drifted slowly to Bruce's side.

at the same time.

A bat flew into a rage: "How dare you be such a simp?!"

It immediately jumped up and started beating up the air!

"Help, Bruce... Help!"

Bruce quickly picked up the hot cocoa floating in front of him, selectively ignoring their playful antics.

Alfred glanced at the teacup in Bruce's hand and remarked with a sigh:

"Looks like I won't be so busy anymore."

"Alfred!"

Bruce winked, looking somewhat annoyed by the butler's teasing.

He's not in the mood for lame jokes right now!

Alfred looked at Bruce and said softly, "Anyway, I'm glad you're back, Master Bruce."

To be honest.

The young master's condition is better than before...

It's not much better, but at least it's no longer empty, like a child who has lost their soul.

He knew how unbearable it was to lose his parents.

Alfred doesn't expect that a magical journey alone can heal the child's inner wounds.

This takes time.

Alfred chuckled and asked, "So, Master Bruce, what do you want to ask me?"

Bruce touched his cheek, surprised, and asked, "Is it that obvious?"

"It's obvious, my young master."

"All right......"

Bruce took a sip of the hot drink, the warmth flowing into his stomach, seemingly dispelling the chill brought by the world of The Shining in an instant.

He was about to speak when he noticed that Foul had broken free from his attack on the air.

Fall, panting, landed on Alfred's shoulder.

Immediately afterwards, a faint, aggrieved sob could be heard in the air.

"Don't ask yet, I have a question," Foul interrupted Bruce.

"Shut up! All you do is cause trouble!" Bruce couldn't help but yell.

This guy is always like this; he always manages to annoy himself from time to time!

"What are you trying to do? I'm related to Afu, I can be Afu too!" Fu'er didn't understand.

Then Foll asked Alfred, "Where's my drink? At least I brought you back someone who can manage the estate 24/7."

"You only prepared hot cocoa for your young master, while I, the great contributor, received nothing. That's a bit unfair!"

Alfred nodded. "Indeed, I was impolite. So, Mr. Fore, what do you need?"

"Uh-bo-bo-wall".

"???"

Bruce was completely bewildered by these words, his face filled with question marks.

"What is he saying?" Bruce asked.

"Water," Alfred replied.

"What?" Bruce asked again, puzzled.

"He said he needed a glass of water," Alfred said expressionlessly. "A glass of water in British accent."
