He's Spider-Man in Marvel, but he insists I'm Superman.

Chapter 22 Are you ready to become Spider-Man?

Manhattan at night is like a steel behemoth, lying in silent slumber.

Only the lights of the Queens Bridge extending into Manhattan cast a shadow on the sea.

A custom-made, matte black Rolls-Royce, like a ghost, slipped away from the traffic and silently drove toward the exclusive underground entrance to the Royal VIP Casino.

The matte, bulletproof body is a symbol of the authority and power of those in positions of power.

The car slowly came to a stop, the door opened automatically, and a pair of shiny black Oxford shoes landed abruptly on the ground.

A man in a dark gray, high-end custom-made suit stepped out of the car; his shiny bald head exuded the aura of a powerful figure.

He was tall, but deliberately concealed his slightly bloated belly, a result of long-term pampered living. Only his deep eyes revealed the shrewdness and ruthlessness unique to businessmen.

The guard at the entrance didn't ask any questions and simply opened the disguised door.

Behind the door is a brightly lit private passageway with warm yellow wall lamps embedded in the walls and the air filled with the scent of high-end fragrance, completely isolating it from the hustle and bustle of the outside world.

Passing through the passageway, you arrive at the Royal Casino's core restricted area—Kingpin's exclusive VIP lounge.

The heavy soundproof door was slowly opened by bodyguards dressed in black suits on both sides.

What comes into view is a magnificent dome, with brightly lit crystal chandeliers hanging in the air, yet they cannot conceal the oppressive grandeur of the hall.

On the leather sofa in the very center of the room sat a man powerful enough to make the entire New York underworld tremble.

Wilson Fiske.

He wore a perfectly tailored white double-breasted suit that completely covered his large and muscular body.

He leaned back lazily on the sofa, a cigar between his fingers, and casually toying with a ring set with a huge diamond in his other hand.

The light fell on his face, which exuded imperial majesty, and his deep eyes seemed to see right through people's hearts.

"Mr. Obadiah Stan, welcome to this appointment!"

Upon seeing Obadiah's arrival, Kingpin, the underground emperor, actually rose to greet him personally, a slight smile appearing on his dignified face.

Before Kingpin could finish speaking, Obadiah calmly walked to the sofa opposite and sat down, leaning back in a very relaxed manner, as if he were not a guest but the host.

"Mr. Kingpin," Obadiah spoke first, his voice steady, "you summoned me here so late at night, so you can speak frankly about what's on your mind."

Jin placed his cigar on the crystal ashtray and leaned forward slightly: "Mr. Stan is straightforward, so I won't waste any more words."

"Mr. Stan, do you wish to completely control Stark Industries?"

Kingpin certainly didn't waste any words; he immediately threw out such a surprising question.

"What did you say?"

Obadiah's languid body instantly straightened, and his gaze sharpened.

"Mr. Stan, please don't get agitated. I'm sure you know very well that as long as Tony Stark exists, Stark Industries will always be Stark Industries, and will never become Stan Industries!"

Kingpin spoke very calmly at this moment, as if he were only talking about something trivial.

"But what if Tony Stark is gone?"

As soon as Kingpin finished speaking, Obadiah's expression instantly became extremely solemn.

"What exactly are you trying to say?"

Obadiah had already guessed what Kingpin's so-called cooperation was all about.

"I've received information that Mr. Stan is secretly selling advanced weaponry to Middle Eastern countries without Tony Stark's knowledge..."

Are you threatening me?

Before Kingpin could finish speaking, Obadiah abruptly interrupted him, his expression extremely unpleasant.

"No, no, Mr. Stan, I was explaining the necessity of our cooperation. If Tony Stark is gone, you won't need to secretly sell advanced weapons anymore!"

What are your conditions?

At this moment, Obadiah regained his composure, a shrewd glint in his eyes typical of a businessman.

"A 30% stake in Stark Industries' defense division and weapons data... and of course, the personal assets left behind by Tony Stark!"

"That's impossible!"

Upon hearing Kingpin's terms, Obadiah almost immediately stood up from the sofa.

Without hesitation, he walked out.

"Mr. Stan, I believe you will return soon!"

The sound from behind made Obadiah pause, but he did not turn around.

"Hmph, daring to covet my Stark Industries? Absolutely not!"

"But he's right. As long as Tony is around, I can't have complete control over Stark Industries."

On his way out, Obadiah's inner world was far from as calm as his outward appearance suggested.

As his thoughts raced, his gaze suddenly hardened.

"Perhaps that plan needs to be implemented ahead of schedule!"

……

Soon, the day arrived for our visit to the Osborne Technology Building.

In the morning, Peter got up early and sat at the dining table with Uncle Ben and Aunt May.

After admiring his own heroic figure on television, he finished his breakfast amidst Uncle Ben's daily rant against the Daily Bugle's shameless behavior.

Then, at the couple's instruction, he left the house.

"This time, I finally don't have to suffer the pain of running to school!"

As soon as he stepped out of his house, Peter went to a deserted corner, then soared into the sky, his figure flashing through the air at lightning speed.

What would normally be a journey of several tens of minutes by car, he arrived in less than several tens of seconds.

The figure landed in a secluded corner near Osborn Industries.

He then slowly walked toward the gates of Osborn Industries.

"Hello, I am a student from Midtown High School who came to visit Osborne Technology."

Upon arriving at the front desk, Peter politely addressed the beautiful, uniformed receptionist.

"Hello, what's your name?"

Looking at the tall, handsome middle school student in front of her, the beautiful receptionist couldn't help but smile sincerely.

"Peter Parker."

Peter did not hesitate and gave his name.

"So you're Peter Parker, the young master's good friend."

The receptionist looked at Peter with a hint of surprise in her eyes, but quickly realized what was going on.

"Young Master Harry instructed that you inform him immediately upon your arrival. Please wait on the sofa over there for a moment; Young Master Harry will be here shortly!"

The receptionist pointed to the sofa used for receiving customers not far away and said in a friendly manner.

"Thank you, beautiful lady."

After thanking the receptionist, Peter sat down on the soft sofa as instructed by the receptionist, looking around curiously.

"You know what, it really lives up to its reputation as a famous company in the Marvel Universe; it's truly packed with cutting-edge technology!"

Peter casually surveyed the high-tech decor around him, waiting for Harry's arrival.

"Hey Peter, you're here so early!"

Soon, Harry's voice came from the elevator entrance, clearly indicating that he had just received the news and rushed over.

"I'm bored anyway, might as well come over sooner."

"The other students haven't arrived yet, how about we go for a stroll first?"

Harry approached Peter with a broad smile and made the suggestion.

"You're the boss here, we'll do whatever you say!"

Peter did not reject Harry's offer.

"Okay, come with me. I'll take you to the biotechnology area on the fourth floor first. The things there will definitely broaden your horizons!"

After Harry finished speaking, he took the special access card and led Peter into the elevator to the fourth floor.

The elevator doors slowly opened, and what came into Peter's view was a special laboratory. Through the laboratory's glass, he saw a group of colorful mutated spiders slowly crawling.

"It seems this is where my destiny truly began!"

At that moment, it was as if a voice was asking, "Are you ready to become Spider-Man?"
