I'm the King of Curry at Hogwarts
Chapter 10 Twins
Chapter 10 Twins
The young wizards' lessons weren't intense; unlike in Louis's previous life, a class at Hogwarts was only thirty minutes long. [For error-free chapter reading, search on Google.]
Having covered the theory, it was time for practice. Professor McGonagall waved her wand and handed out a match to each of the young wizards.
"In this lesson, you will try to turn this matchstick into a needle," she said, picking up her wand and addressing the students. "The Transfiguration Charm doesn't require a specific gesture, but it does require a strong desire in your heart... Vera Verto!"
Professor McGonagall raised her wand and transformed the bird on the table into a beautiful crystal goblet.
"Alright." She waved her hand, turning the wine glass back into a bird, and said to the crowd below, "Everyone, start practicing. The first student to successfully turn a match into a needle will get a bonus."
Just like her teacher in her previous life, Professor McGonagall walked around the students' seats while they practiced Transfiguration, checking on their progress.
Louis had just picked up his wand when he felt two sharp, piercing gazes fixed on the match in front of him. He turned around and saw Professor McGonagall's piercing gaze scraping across his face through her glasses.
A slight tremor ran through him, but what hadn't he seen in his life? "Professor." He nodded slightly, turned, picked up his wand, and intently began to construct a model of an embroidery needle in his mind. Then, aiming at the match in front of him, he called out clearly, "Vera Verto!"
As Louis finished speaking, the match gradually changed color, as if it had melted, turning into a pool of semi-molten liquid, and then instantly reforming into a silver embroidery needle.
"Mountbatten did an excellent job, successfully turning a match into a needle on his first attempt... So, Slytherin gets a perfect score." Professor McGonagall's gaze softened, and she smiled for the first time ever.
"Yeah!" A cheer erupted from the Slytherin seats, with Malfoy shouting the loudest.
"Silence." Professor McGonagall's face instantly hardened, and under her imposing presence, the classroom fell silent once more.
Louis was a little confused. He only had a talent of three in Transfiguration, so why was he learning things so quickly?
"Congratulations on learning the spell: Transfiguration Charm."
"*Note: Due to your Polymorph talent, you only gain 1 proficiency point per successful Polymorph spell cast. The maximum proficiency required is increased tenfold, the required mana is doubled, the casting time is doubled, and the maximum skill level is 5."
Transfiguration Charm: Current level 1 (1/1000)
Mana required: 4
Casting range: 30 yards
Casting time: 0 seconds
Skill Description: Transforms the target into any shape.
After reviewing the description of the Transfiguration Charm, Louis couldn't help but mutter to himself, "So this is what a 3-star talent looks like... It seems learning spells is the easiest part; the real challenge lies in advancing them..."
To avoid attracting attention, Louis carried a thermos with him—creating drinking water out of thin air was too frightening, so this way he could keep a low profile.
He drank the cool, magical glacial water while practicing his Transfiguration spells in the remaining time, which Professor McGonagall watched with nods of approval, though she was also a little worried that the boy might overuse his magic.
But looking at Louis's bright and cheerful little face, she became uncertain again.
Could it be that this kid is a freak?
Professor McGonagall had long forgotten her previous unpleasantness with Lewis, and now her mind was filled with affection for this "talented" and hardworking student.
Having taught at Hogwarts for so many years, this was only the second time she had seen such a hardworking genius.
Then, she turned her gaze to her classmates who were contemplating life, and a pang of sadness welled up in her heart.
Yes, she remembered that the Sorting Hat was supposed to sort Mr. Mountbatten into Gryffindor, ah... Mr. Mountbatten should have been the pride of Gryffindor.
That damn hat!
Thinking this, get out of class ended quickly. Besides Louise, only Hermione managed to turn the match into a pointed shape.
Professor McGonagall might have been happy if it weren't for Lewis, but now she felt suffocated no matter how she thought about it.
With plenty of time before the next class, Louis wasn't in a hurry to go back to his dorm. Instead, he chose to practice his Transfiguration spell in the auditorium.
At lunchtime, Harry and Ron gathered around him again.
"You were so cool in class today!" Ron said excitedly, and Harry chimed in immediately, "Yeah, haha... You must have some secret, can you teach us?"
"Of course." Louis didn't mind sharing his experience with his good friend. Coincidentally, he also had something he wanted Harry and Ron to help him with. Just as he was about to speak, he heard a teasing voice.
"Hey, isn't this our little brother?" A red-haired head popped out to Ron's left.
"I heard a remarkable person emerged in Transfiguration class today." Another red head popped out from Harry's right. The two heads looked at each other, and the head next to Ron said, "A Slytherin genius."
"The savior of Gryffindor," the head next to Harry chuckled.
"They actually befriended our foolish little brother." The two heads turned to Ron, grinning and teasing, "People say fools are lucky, isn't that true?"
"George! Fred!" Ron's face turned red; he was very embarrassed by his two older brothers' teasing in front of their best friend.
"Your brothers are just joking with you, good boy." The twins chuckled and patted Ron's head, then looked at Louis, the one on the left saying, "Hello, I'm George."
"I am Fred." This is the one on the right.
Louis caught a glint of amusement in their eyes; he knew the mischievous twins were up to their old tricks again. So he chuckled and greeted the one on the left, "Hello, Fred." Then, turning to the one on the right, he said, "Hello, George."
"Ha! Even a genius can be fooled by us." Fred said with a grin, "You're very clever, Mr. Genius, but we were just deliberately luring you in. Actually—we weren't lying."
"Yes, we didn't lie." George finished speaking, exchanged a glance with Fred, and then clapped his hands in the air: "Yay!"
Louis was dumbfounded. The Weasley twins truly lived up to their reputation as masters of pranks; their tricks were endless. Good heavens, he thought he was on the third floor, but it turned out the twins were waiting for him on the fourth.
This is an old-fashioned layered pancake; even Hema (a major bakery chain) would be ashamed of its inferiority.
"Since you're Ronnie's good friends, then you're also the big brothers' good friends." The twins' tone sounded very amusing. "This castle has no secrets from the great Weasley twins—oh yes, especially you, Mr. Mountbatten, you've really surprised us."
"Just call me Louis." Louis subtly drew closer to Louis.
