I'm the King of Curry at Hogwarts

Chapter 101 The Night Banquet

Chapter 101 The Night Banquet

Lucius Malfoy, having estimated the time, was already waiting at the gate of the manor with his wife and son.

Logically, Lucius shouldn't have personally waited for his son's classmate at the manor gate. However, Louis's status was different. First, as a duke, even a Muggle deserved respect from Lucius. This had nothing to do with pure-blood status; it was an unspoken understanding among nobles, given that Lucius's ancestors had held Muggle titles. Second, as the "future leader of the wizarding world" whom Lucius had long ago bet on, he needed to demonstrate the proper attitude.

Finally, it was also Lucius's little scheme to improve his impression on this future demon king, whose nature was uncertain—whether he was black or white.

He didn't care whether Louis was black or white; he only cared whether the Malfoy family could use this opportunity to rise to a higher level.

"Judging by the time, Louis should be here by now," Draco said, glancing at his magic watch.

Draco's mother, Narcissa, chuckled and teased, "I've never seen Draco care so much about anyone his age before, but as his mother, I should indeed thank him for his admonition."

Despite her words, she, being from the Black family, still held a certain scorn for Muggle-born people: "Hmm... he probably came by car. I don't think he keeps any magical creatures to pull his carriage."

"Narcissa," Lucius said softly, "you're talking about our son's best friend and most respected classmate."

In fact, he thought the same way as Narcissa; this was the so-called "pride" ingrained in the bones of old-fashioned pure-blood families.

Just as Lucius was pondering whether he should remind Louis to keep some magical creatures to enhance his image, but was struggling with how to say it in a way that was appropriate and polite, without sounding sarcastic, he heard a faint chime coming from afar.

"It sounds like someone is ringing a bell?" Draco asked first.

Lucius frowned and said uncertainly, "I heard it too... but I don't remember any bells around here."

Just as the father and son were struggling with their decision, Narcissa suddenly pointed to the distant horizon and said, "Look over there, what's that?"

Following Narcissa's pointing finger, the two watched as a small, glowing dot drew closer, its outline becoming increasingly clear. The five elemental fat figures were extremely conspicuous, especially the fire elemental Karl and the arcane elemental Havis, who shone with orange-red and violet light, looking incredibly flashy.

"It's a carriage," Draco said first, then added uncertainly, "Could it be Louis?"

"Probably not..." Narcissa was also a little unsure. There was one more thing she didn't say: no matter how rich the Muggle royal family was, they couldn't possibly produce something so magical and mysterious, could they?

The bell tolled continuously, and with its vibrations, visible ripples spread through the air in all directions. Wherever the ripples reached, a sense of peace and tranquility prevailed.

Narcissa and Draco, bathed in the sound of the bells, felt a rare sense of peace, as if the clamor of the world had been washed away from their hearts. Even Lucius, whose Dark Mark had been causing trouble on his arm and was now quietly falling silent.

Before they could even fully appreciate the sound of the bells, the extravagantly decorated carriage was already close by, and the five burly, overweight men pulling it were a visual spectacle for the Malfoy family.

Then, the closed carriage door opened, and a tall maid dressed in a black and white maid outfit stepped out. She got out of the carriage, first taking out a brocade stool from somewhere and placing it under the door, then whispering something. Louis then stepped out of the carriage, followed closely by Catherine in a black dress.

The two had just changed into formal attire in the carriage's dressing room, as Athelia had reminded them.

Draco tensed up excitedly, wanting to say hello, but Lucius secretly stopped him.

"Good evening, Your Highness, Madam." Lucius gave a very formal gentlemanly bow.

Louis did not stop him. After Lucius straightened up, he smiled and said, "You're too kind. Draco and I went to Hogwarts together and were good friends in the same dormitory. I should call you Uncle Lucius."

"No, no, not at all," Lucius said with a smile, greeting Narcissa and Draco. After a few polite exchanges, Lucius asked, "Your Highness, what should we feed the five... um... creatures in your carriage?"

He thought for a long time but still couldn't come up with an adjective.

"You mean these five elementals?" Louis glanced at the five fat men. "They can obtain energy from the air; just find a spacious place for them to rest."

"Okay," Lucius said softly, turning back. "Dobby?"

A little elf suddenly darted out, looking at Lucius with a mixture of timidity and respect.

"Take His Highness's carriage, along with these elementals, to a spacious place at the back of the manor," he ordered.

"Yes," Dobby replied respectfully, glancing sideways at Louis and muttering under his breath, "His Highness Louis is his friend... ah... his friend."

Lucius assumed Dobby was referring to Draco when he said "he," so he didn't think much of it.

But now he would never have guessed that Dobby was actually talking about Harry Potter.

Louis glanced at Dobby but remained silent.

He didn't intend to say much more. In his previous life, whether reading the original novel or watching the movie, he actually quite liked Dobby.

But in this life... putting himself in his shoes, he sadly discovered that he had no reason to like a servant who had betrayed his master, no matter how sufficient or justifiable his reasons were.

That's probably why my butt changed.

What was Humphrey's statement? I was stating my position, not the facts.

Of course, it has nothing to do with right or wrong.

"Please." Lucius gestured for them to proceed.

"Please." Louis politely declined, but the two eventually walked side by side through the gates of Malfoy Manor.

The strength of this established pure-blooded family was indeed not to be underestimated. Passing through the exquisite wrought iron gates of the manor gave one a sense of etherealness, as if passing through a mist. The entire manor was dignified and magnificent, surrounded by meticulously tended gardens with a lively fountain in the center. Occasionally, one could see a few pure white peacocks strolling leisurely and contentedly in the gardens.

Lucius also knew that with Louis's family background, there was really nothing to brag about to him; Louis's estate was probably much more luxurious than his.

They have some self-awareness, which is understandable.

Entering the gates of the Malfoy family mansion, Louis was indeed slightly shocked by the extremely luxurious interior decorations. It wasn't that he was shocked by how luxurious the house was, but rather that he felt he had underestimated the foundation that pure-blood families had accumulated over hundreds or thousands of years.

The walls of the spacious foyer were adorned with portraits and landscape paintings that were clearly the work of masters. The stone floor was almost entirely covered with luxurious carpets, all of which showcased the Malfoy family's wealth.

No wonder Voldemort liked to set up his headquarters here. With such a magnificent mansion, it would be strange if Voldemort didn't have his eye on it.

But Louis keenly noticed a slight unease, but he didn't point it out and continued talking to Lucius.

Since Louis's arrival, Lucius has maintained a humble yet assertive attitude, neither overly enthusiastic nor distant, striking a perfect balance in maintaining the right distance.

Louis also enjoyed this feeling. To be honest, he didn't really like people who were too overly familiar, and he was quite pleased with Lucius's grasp of this distance.

If he were to act overly friendly with Draco because of his relationship with him, it would really annoy Draco.

Catherine was pulled aside by Narcissa to chat about everyday things, while Draco looked on with longing as his father and Louise talked, wondering when he could ever be so high-class.

"Your Highness, please forgive my curiosity, but may I tell you about your carriage?" Lucius finally couldn't hold back any longer. He was filled with curiosity about those fat elemental beings who had never appeared in the magical world before.

As a wizard, he could naturally sense the powerful energy contained within those elemental fat men.

Louis called Athena over and had her explain the situation to Lucius in detail, adding a lie that it was left by his mother. After listening, Lucius remarked with some emotion, "Truly worthy of Lady Emma..."

Louis remained outwardly calm, but inwardly he was furious, thinking, "How come anyone in the magical world knows my mother better than I do?"

How come such abnormal things are normal when they happen to her?

"I'm not quite proficient at this method of commanding elemental servants yet," Louis chuckled. "When I'm able to control the elements like my mother, I'll definitely select a few suitable and docile elemental creatures to give to Uncle Lucius."

"Thank you so much, Your Highness. Rest assured, the Malfoy family will not accept your gift for nothing," Lucius said tactfully.

At that moment, Narcissa noticed the crown Catherine was wearing.

"Miss Wore, is that... a Ravenclaw crown on your head?" Narcissa asked uncertainly.

Catherine smiled with a touch of demureness and said, "Yes, Aunt Narcissa, this is a birthday present from Louis."

Upon hearing Catherine's confirmation, Lucius's pupils contracted almost imperceptibly, but he quickly regained his composure.

But Louis noticed the change in his expression.

The original books did not mention whether Lucius knew about Horcruxes, and there are many different opinions about the diary. But now Louis is almost certain that even if Lucius did not know about Horcruxes, he at least knew that Ravenclaw's tiara was crucial to Voldemort.

Draco, who had been holding back for a while, finally managed to get a word in edgewise. He excitedly said, "I was there that day, Dad. Tom's noodles were really delicious."

"All you ever do is eat," Lucius scolded Draco in a low voice, then smiled apologetically at Louis, "I apologize for making you laugh, Your Highness, my son is a bit too childish."

"I actually quite like Draco like this. The truth of childhood always fades away as we grow older," Louis said meaningfully, with a double entendre.

Just then, another house-elf came over to announce that it was time to eat. Lucius stood up, smiled, and said, "Let's eat first, and we can chat while we eat."

Louis nodded in agreement. He had always thought that the Malfoys only had Dobby the elf, but it seemed he was wrong.

But it's easy to imagine that such a large manor and estate couldn't be managed by just one little elf like Dobby.

The dinner featured French cuisine, suggesting that even traditional pure-blooded British wizards might find it difficult to tolerate dishes with a British influence.

Actually, there's nothing wrong with that British cuisine. Apart from being a bit sour, spoiled, smelly, and salty, there's nothing wrong with it.

Since it was a small, private dinner, the Malfoy family's long table hadn't been extended. Guided by the house-elf, Louis sat to Lucius's right.

This is the custom at British dinner parties. Generally speaking, the first guest of honor sits to the right of the host, which makes it easier for the two to talk. The first guest of honor's wife sits to the right of the hostess.

Of course, if the guests are being hosted by the hostess, the first guest of honor should sit next to her.

Therefore, as Louis's girlfriend, Catherine naturally sat next to Narcissa.

Draco, as he had hoped, sat down next to Louis. He was so happy that he couldn't stop smiling for a long time. He chatted with Louis in a low voice about the recent situation and also asked about Potter's news intentionally or unintentionally.

Louis was a little confused. Could this kid have really fallen for Potter?

No way?

But when he thought of Astoria Greengrass and Scorpius, Louis felt relieved.

This child is definitely not; he just still harbors the regret of not being able to become friends with Potter.

I don't know if Louis was hypnotizing himself.

After the appetizers were finished, the main courses began to be served, and the conversation gradually shifted from trivial pleasantries to more serious topics as the main courses were introduced.

Louis even had Christasan fetch moonberry juice from the carriage, explaining that the carriage was magical because it could supply moonberry juice in unlimited quantities from Azeroth, provided it was purchased with gold coins.

After Catherine explained the benefits of moonberry juice, Narcissa clearly showed some interest.

It's all an act; there's not a single bit of sincerity in it.

But after tasting the moonberry juice, her attitude immediately changed, and she began to pay more attention to it.

What's that saying? Don't look at the results, look at the treatment.

Moonberry juice, with its delicious taste and rapid effects, speaks volumes about its value. As a magical fruit of Azeroth, it's practically the best health supplement for mortals.

Perhaps only the Bronze Dragons would dare to claim an unlimited supply, since they can steal... I mean take it from various points in time.

The two ladies were having a lively conversation, and the gentlemen naturally didn't want to be left out.

Louis put down his knife and fork, picked up a napkin to wipe his lips, and looked at Lucius, asking softly, "When I came in today, I noticed there was a bit of a mess outside. Have you been having any trouble lately?"

Lucius gave a slightly embarrassed smile: "Recently, the Ministry of Magic has been investigating items related to dark magic. As you know, I was once subjected to the Imperius Curse by—the Man of Mystery—and forced to become a Death Eater. Therefore, Malfoy Manor has naturally become a target of the Ministry of Magic's raids."
