Chapter 159 Ron is also awake
Killing a snake is not a difficult task, and for Louis, he doesn't need to target the snake's vital spot.
After testing the Lightning Bolt, Louis was pleasantly surprised to find that it could actually be used to grind proficiency.
Its extremely high recovery ability and extremely high level make it an even better training dummies than those in raid dungeons.
At this moment, in Louis's eyes, the snake had transformed from a "sustainable renewable resource" into a "training dummy," and it was as if the snake was being exploited to the point of being depleted.
Perhaps even the blue-eyed demon possessing Tifa didn't expect that this giant snake would be treated this way by Louis.
To be honest, she didn't really know Louis very well; at least she didn't know Louis's true strength.
In her eyes, even if this kid was outrageous, he couldn't possibly kill a mutated snake monster so easily, could he?
Louis was also puzzled as to why this guy had been waiting for him in the underground chamber, and he still couldn't figure it out even after leaving the chamber.
When he returned the hat and the Gryffindor sword to Dumbledore, Dumbledore looked at him with a meaningful gaze.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Louis was confused.
"Where's the snake? It was such a big snake, surely it didn't lose all its fangs? As far as I know, you're not very good at fire magic."
Dumbledore's words can be summed up in two words.
Dividing the spoils.
Louis reluctantly took out the snake skin and placed it in front of him—the enormous snake skin filled the entire office.
Dumbledore stared at the snake molt as if it were a new world, marveling at its enormous size, while Louis looked on with disgust.
"Don't pretend when it's just the two of us. You were there when you were protecting Luna and the others."
"Oh." Dumbledore, without blushing, calmly put the snake skin into the Unseen Stretching Charm pouch and looked at Louis with a smile.
"Speaking of which, Harry and his friends are heading this way with Assistant Instructor Tifa. Would you like to wait here and hear their adventure stories?"
"So fast?" Louis clicked his tongue in amazement. Although he had wasted more than an hour finding his way out of the Chamber of Secrets, Harry and his friends were moving way too fast.
He wasn't worried about their safety, since Dumbledore was there to oversee things at the school.
"I must warn you, Ron doesn't seem to be in a good mood," Dumbledore said casually.
Louis then remembered that the one named Aragog was a giant eight-eyed spider.
"Oh, right... I forgot to tell you." Mentioning Tifa reminded Louis of something very important: "When I was in the secret chamber, I saw Assistant Tifa possessed by the blue-eyed demon..."
"That's impossible!" Dumbledore's expression turned extremely serious. "When Hogwarts School was founded, the four founders covered every part of the school castle with demon-repelling runes, even the Chamber of Secrets. There's absolutely no way a demon could have infiltrated Hogwarts..."
"But that's the truth." Louis shrugged. "I saw with my own eyes that her eyes radiated a blue light. She was exactly as you described. Her aura gave off a very upright first impression."
"Perhaps the spell has become ineffective due to years of neglect," Louis added, suggesting another possibility.
"But you may not know that Assistant Professor Tifa once visited the Headmaster's office." Dumbledore pointed solemnly to the top of his head, then to Louis's feet.
Louis looked up and saw a giant rune made of molten metal engraved on the ceiling directly above him. He then looked down and lifted a rug, revealing another giant rune on the floor.
"Can a talisman alone have the effect of exorcising demons? What if it's a high-level demon? Will it still be effective?" Louis asked a series of questions that were on his mind.
"This is the law, Lewis," Professor Dumbledore said softly. "The power of the laws established by the Creator binds all things in the world to each other, and their mutual restraint."
Before he could say anything more, Ron's cursing voice rang out.
"Follow the spider, follow the spider! If Hagrid dares to show his face again, I swear I'll take him down with me!"
"Alright, Ron, Hagrid didn't mean it."
It's Hermione's voice.
A knock came at the door.
The trio walked in with Tifa, who looked haggard.
"Professor Dumbledore, Lewis," the trio greeted.
The moment Louis saw Tifa, he tensed up and became very alert, but Dumbledore patted his arm. When he turned around, Dumbledore gently shook his head, indicating that he didn't need to be.
Seeing that Tifa was still somewhat dazed, Dumbledore first looked at the three children: "Tell me, how did you manage to save her?"
Harry cleared his throat and began to speak slowly and deliberately.
……
Since Ye Ziyan's warning was only perfunctory, Ron returned to his dormitory early. There was no point in just sitting and waiting, so he simply took an afternoon nap.
Meanwhile, Harry, who had been sent back to the Gryffindor common room by the phoenix, rushed straight back to his bedroom and, without saying a word, yanked off Ron's blanket.
"You'd better be in trouble, Harry." Ron looked at Harry with annoyance, his eyes still heavy with sleep.
"It's an emergency! Wake up!" Harry grabbed Ron's arm and tried to pull him off the bed, but Ron, caught off guard, fell flat on his face.
However, Harry calmed Ron down with just one sentence.
"Danger! Assistant Instructor Tifa is in danger! She's been taken to the Forbidden Forest... Louis, Louis told me to get you all to go find Hagrid and rescue her from the Forbidden Forest..."
Ron immediately perked up.
No Gryffindor can resist the allure of adventure, just as no man can resist a lightsaber.
He asked Lavender to fetch Hermione, then hesitated before asking, "To the Forbidden Forest... should we inform Miss Worley, or Professor Ye and the others...?"
"Are you stupid, Ron!" Harry said with a look of utter exasperation, "If we tell them, will we still be able to go to the Forbidden Forest?"
"But...didn't they say that Assistant Instructor Tifa was in danger...?" Ron was still a little worried.
"If it's something extremely urgent, Louis will definitely have Harry inform them."
It was Hermione, who walked in from outside.
"I think Louis must have wanted to toughen us up, that's why he sent us to the Forbidden Forest, don't you think?"
Hermione looked at the duo; she had successfully persuaded Ron.
The smart girl had certainly considered this question, and there was another possibility she didn't mention, though she didn't think that possibility existed...
That was Louis deliberately sent them there so that Tifa could die legally in the Forbidden Forest.
She was never afraid to assume the worst of Slytherins, but Hermione had absolutely no intention of thinking the worst of Louis.
After all, how could someone as handsome as Louis be a bad guy?
And so, the trio arrived at Hagrid's cabin, only to find that Hagrid was not there.
There was a note on the table that read, "Take Tooth and follow the spider to Aragog, my friend."
Tooth is the big black dog that Hagrid owns.
Next to the note was a tiny cage containing a huge spider. Whether it was because it saw people or what, it had been struggling incessantly in the cage ever since Harry picked up the note, looking quite energetic.
Ron noticed the spider too, and he dodged behind Hermione, poking her shoulder.
"There's...there's a spider!"
"It's just a spider, what's the big deal?" Hermione said disdainfully. "You're a grown woman, are you really afraid of spiders?"
As she spoke, she walked over and, under Ron's almost reverent gaze, opened the spider cage with her bare hands.
"See? This little guy is actually quite shy." Hermione pulled the spider out by its legs and placed it on the ground. "Don't be afraid, it's not aggressive."
Ron instinctively shivered. He knew Hermione was fierce, but he didn't expect her to be this fierce.
When the three of them are together, they are like a wooden barrel. Harry and Ron are the weakest points, but Hermione is not only the strongest point, but also the kind of strong point that can make up for the weaknesses of the other two, creating a synergistic effect greater than the sum of its parts.
That's really weird.
Of course, Harry and Ron together make one, so each of them is worth 0.5...
The spider lay on the ground for a while, and seeing that the long-haired giant didn't do anything more to it, it immediately stretched out its eight legs and fled quickly.
Run! Run! Something bad will happen if you don't run now!
Don't let their small size fool you; spiders have a strange characteristic: one second you can see them lying there, and the next you turn your head and they're gone.
With its natural horror movie star quality and less-than-cute appearance, it's no wonder Ron was afraid of it.
The spider in front of them was incredibly fast; if Hermione hadn't cast a tracking spell on it, it probably would have disappeared from their sight long ago.
The trio quickly followed, and the tiny, flickering starlight was rapidly moving ahead of them.
"Don't worry, even if there are obstacles in the way, we can still see the light spots formed by the tracking magic," Hermione reassured her two useless men.
"Okay." Ron took a deep breath to bolster his spirits, resigned to the worst possible fate: "I'm prepared. Who knows if this spider will lead us into a nest full of spiders..."
"I don't think so, Ron," Harry said optimistically. "Even if they're all spiders, they can't possibly harm us. A little magic will send them running away in a frenzy."
"That's right, we can use magic." Ron's confidence immediately soared.
Spiders are small and not much of a threat. Even if a group of spiders attacked together, they probably wouldn't be enough to burn them down with a single blazing fire.
So they followed the light spots on the spider into the woods, with Tooth running behind them. Tooth was a timid dog, and it was almost impossible for it to lead the way.
You only get a few leftovers a day, what are you risking your life for?
But at least it seemed that Tooth was working quite hard, following along the way, sniffing the roots and leaves of the trees, and occasionally barking in the direction where the light disappeared. But in reality, only Hermione's tracking magic was effective.
I followed along, not knowing how long we ran. No one spoke, only the rustling of leaves in the wind, the cracking of branches breaking underfoot, or the occasional barking of a dog. There was no other sound.
As they ventured deeper into the forbidden forest, the trees grew increasingly dense. The stars overhead were obscured by the thick canopy, and the lone glow on the spider's rear end cast a solitary, eerie light in the endless darkness. It was then that they realized the spider guide had strayed from the path.
The three of them had never been deep in the Forbidden Forest before. The last time Harry came to the Forbidden Forest, he had only strolled around the edge of the forest. At this moment, Harry suddenly remembered what Hagrid had said.
"Remember, Harry, never stray from the path..."
"What's wrong, Harry?" Ron asked with concern when he saw Harry's face turn pale.
"I remember Hagrid's advice; he told me not to leave The Walk," Harry said truthfully.
Ron shrugged. "Professor Dumbledore warned us not to step through that little door on the fourth floor, and we still came back alive, didn't we?"
"But luck might not be on our side this time..." Hermione poured cold water on the idea, and just as she finished speaking, she saw Ron shudder.
"You scared me to death, you little brat!" Ron kicked the brat. Just now, the brat's wet nose had accidentally touched Ron's hand. Ron, who was already nervous, thought it was something else, and his heart almost jumped out of his chest.
Tooth let out a reluctant cry, as if blaming Ron for being cowardly and having nothing to do with him.
"What are your thoughts?" Harry asked Hermione.
"What else can we do? We're already here." Hermione's words dispelled the three people's hesitation.
Yes, we've come all this way, we can't let this whole journey be for nothing, can we?
So they continued to follow the rapidly moving light into the thicket, where tree roots and stumps were everywhere, making it difficult to discern a suitable path. Because it was so dark, they could hardly see the obstacles, and occasionally they would trip and stumble.
Hermione was in a worse situation. Since it was summer, she was wearing a dress, and her thighs were scratched by sharp branches, leaving bloody marks. But she didn't have time to care about that; Tifa's life was more important.
"Are we going downhill?" Ron asked, his little face stinging from two cuts on his cheeks from the branches, though not unbearably so.
"I think I'm hungry!" Harry exclaimed, then collapsed to the ground with a thud, only to spring back up like a spring.
He happened to be holding a skull in his hand, and coincidentally, his fingers went right into the skull's eye sockets, where there was a wet, slippery earthworm.
He quickly shook off the skull and exclaimed "Shit!" in a panic.
Just then, a long, drawn-out wolf howl echoed through the woods, lingering for a long time, scaring the two boys so much that their souls almost flew out of their bodies.
"If I were it, I wouldn't be yelling so loudly," Hermione said pointedly.
Sure enough, the wolf's howl turned into a mournful whimper halfway through.
"Poor guy." Hermione raised an eyebrow, her tone tinged with schadenfreude.
Ron immediately panicked. He said urgently, "Hermione! What time is it? You're still joking... Even the wolves have been killed, do you think we... Oh my god..."
"Weren't you so confident just now?" Hermione asked with a look that seemed to say, "Are you sure you can do it?"
Seeing that Ron was getting anxious again, Harry quickly comforted him, "Alright, alright, we're already here, let's keep going."
"Where are you going? That light spot isn't moving anymore." Ron pointed in the direction of the light spot in the distance, only to find that the light spot had disappeared.
"Huh?" He patted Hermione on the shoulder. "Hermione, your magic has worn off..."
"Impossible! My tracking magic can last for several hours..." Hermione raised her eyebrows and looked at the original spot of light, only to be proven wrong by reality.
She searched for a long time but couldn't find it anywhere.
Looking at Harry, Harry shrugged; looking at Ron, Ron made a helpless expression.
"I really don't know what use you two are!" Hermione stomped her foot and complained. These two brilliant minds were just too much for her to handle...
She is now filled with regret, regretting why she brought two burdens with her.
"What I'm trying to say is that waiting here is pointless. Now that we're in the Forbidden Forest, we should actually start looking for it," Hermione said, then frowned at the two useless men staring at her in terror and asked, "What are you two doing?"
"Hermione..." Ron practically squeezed the words out of his throat, and Hermione could clearly tell from his voice how terrified he was.
This annoyed her greatly. How could a boy, especially a Gryffindor boy, be so timid?
"As Gryffindors, you should know shame! Know shame!" Hermione roared, howling like a hungry cat catching the twins in a prank. "Look at yourselves! You've brought shame upon Gryffindor!"
The two boys swallowed hard, neither speaking nor moving, their faces ashen as they stared intently at the spot more than ten feet behind her, their expressions filled with terror.
Hermione knew she couldn't speak too hastily or push people too hard, as that would only create resistance. She softened her expression and said to them, "Let's go find the spider."
"I think...we don't need to look anymore..." Ron looked behind Hermione, his expression more like he was about to cry. "They seem to have already come knocking on our door..."
As Ron finished speaking, Hermione heard a strange clicking sound. She looked up and met the gaze of four pairs of dark eyes.
It was an enormous spider, its size was absurd. According to Hermione's estimation, it wasn't much smaller than a small car in the Muggle world.
Before its eight eyes were a pair of large, black pincers, their jet-black sheen instantly reminding her of her father's polished black leather shoes, the clicking sound emanating from those constantly opening and closing pincers. The spider's four pairs of legs were thick and long, covered with dense hairs—not downy hairs at all, but coarse, stiff bristles like pig bristles.
