I'm the King of Curry at Hogwarts
Chapter 204 Gellert Grindelwald
Chapter 204 Gellert Grindelwald
As is widely known, Grindelwald is a dark wizard, but as to what makes him dark is a matter of opinion.
In J.K. Rowling's original concept, Grindelwald is simply referred to as a "dark wizard," not a "dark lord." There is no such thing as a "first/original dark lord," because Grindelwald himself likely believed that everything he did was for the benefit of all humanity, and therefore he was not dark.
In other words, even if I commit murder (gas explosions burning Aurors), arson (Fiercefire burning Paris), and all sorts of other evil deeds, I still consider myself a good person.
It can be said to be a very idealistic concept. The new concept is not the Dark Lord. He believes that his ideals are white, but his actions are black. So, all together, he is... the Gray Lord?
The original English for "Dark Lord" is "Dark Lord," which comes from Voldemort's name, "Lord Voldemort." "Dark Lord" is derived from Voldemort's own name and is a respectful title used by the Death Eaters to refer to him. It gained its fame because of Voldemort and is not a title used to refer to the leader of the dark forces at different times.
Furthermore, the original work does not mention what country Grindelwald is from; the nationality listed in the official extradition document is "unknown."
But Dumbledore said on the train that he was Austrian, so let's assume he is.
Anyway, that little mustache guy who's pretty much the same as him is also Austrian, and Austrians don't care about having one more devil.
Dumbledore pushed open the door, and Louis saw a thin, old man leaning against the wall with his legs drawn up, looking out the window at the scenery.
People who yearn for freedom.
"You've come?" Grindelwald said softly.
"I'm here." Dumbledore nodded and took out a roasted spring chicken that he had prepared at some point from his pocket.
"You did come after all." Grindelwald sniffed the air; the aroma of roasted spring chicken was simply too tempting. Louis vaguely saw him swallow.
"I've come after all." Dumbledore pulled out delicious food as if by magic, which must have been prepared in advance by the house-elves. Louis even saw the classic culinary disaster—lamb liver pie.
Is this stuff even edible? He couldn't help but question the meaning of life.
"You shouldn't have come." Grindelwald said firmly, without turning back, even as his stomach began to rumble.
"But I'm already here." Dumbledore finished taking out the food and started taking out the drinks. Louis saw his favorite grape juice—which was also Sirius's favorite. It was said to cure his autism.
Grindelwald was silent for a moment, then snorted, "What are you doing here?"
"I've brought you some food." Dumbledore conjured up four chairs and gestured for Louis to place them.
"What kind of food?" Grindelwald was clearly tempted.
"What you like to eat," Dumbledore replied.
Grindelwald fell silent again, then said haughtily, "Fine, I won't eat it, you can take it."
"You really don't want any?" Dumbledore said, breaking off a chicken leg, taking a big bite, and making a satisfied "Mmm" sound as he chewed. "Mmm~ It tastes great, are you sure you don't want to try some?"
"I, Grindelwald, would rather starve to death or jump off this cliff than eat a single thing from you!" Grindelwald said resolutely, but the rumbling of his stomach betrayed him.
"Please have some, Mr. Grindelwald," Louis couldn't help but urge him. To be fair, the dishes Dumbledore had prepared were quite delicious; he had already devoured two meatballs.
It was only then that Grindelwald noticed Louis's presence. He turned his head and carefully examined Louis in the dim light, asking, "The last time you brought students here was more than ten years ago, wasn't it?"
"Yes, that's his mother." Dumbledore waved a chicken leg in front of Grindelwald.
Grindelwald looked at the chicken leg, smacked his lips, and asked, "I remember her, her name was Emma, right? She was a cute little girl from a mysterious country in the East, but she was a bit too mischievous."
"You have a good memory, you still remember my mother?" Louis became interested. Grindelwald's memory was obviously slightly better than Dumbledore's; he could still remember someone he hadn't seen for more than ten years.
To everyone's surprise, Grindelwald snorted and said in a sarcastic tone, "Of course I remember her. Back then, she wrote so many fanfiction books and composed so many awful little tunes..."
Just when Louis thought Grindelwald was about to get angry, he changed the subject.
"But I quite like it." Grindelwald's face showed a kind smile that wasn't too incongruous. "I'm also quite gratified to see her son grow up like this."
"Aren't you going to come and have some food?" Louis extended an invitation.
Grindelwald paused for a moment, then said with a touch of arrogance, "Well, since Emma's son has sincerely invited me to dinner, what reason do I have to refuse?"
Louis thought to himself, "If you're not going to eat, hurry up and get out of here..."
The old man has quite a lot on his plate.
No, Grindelwald is 110 years old this year. He shouldn't be called a little old man, but rather an old man... something.
Look at how healthy those old men in the magic world are. They can still eat chicken legs and go wild at 110 years old. But look at Xizong. He's only 80 and he can't hold on anymore.
As for what he can't hold back, those who know, know.
With lightning speed, Grindelwald devoured a chicken leg and quickly stuffed three large meatballs into his mouth. After chewing for a while, he swallowed them, and after a long pause, his brow relaxed.
"It smells so good."
It seems that the essence of humanity is being a pigeon, a repeating machine, and something that's actually delicious.
Even wizards of Grindelwald's caliber are not immune to this.
With food in his stomach, Grindelwald slowed down his eating and asked curiously, "So, what brings this kid to Nurmengard today? If I remember correctly, today is Halloween, and Christmas is still more than fifty days away."
"Oh, I just came to see how your ideological reform is going," Dumbledore said with a little joke.
Grindelwald chuckled, slowly picked up his wine glass, swirled it gently in front of him, sniffed it carefully, and then took a sip. He looked extremely elegant, as if the person who had just gulped down the chicken leg was a completely different person.
He set the wine glass aside and snorted, "Can't you talk about something more interesting?"
"What do you think has a taste?" Dumbledore countered.
Grindelwald chuckled and brought up a topic he thought Dumbledore would never agree to.
"For example, when will I be allowed to leave here?"
"Then I think you should hurry up and pack your things." Dumbledore's fork twirled in the air. "How about we leave after we finish eating?"
Grindelwald paused for a moment, reached out and grabbed Louis's left arm to glance at the watch, then put it back.
"Is there something urgent that you need to deal with?" Dumbledore asked leisurely.
Grindelwald shook his head: "No, I just wanted to confirm if today is April 1st."
April 1st is April Fool's Day.
Dumbledore probably really thought it was April Fool's Day after receiving this sudden news.
In fact, not only Grindelwald, but even Louis was stunned, staring at the old man in front of him with a look of shock.
What's going on? Today's plot is about Xu Xian breaking down Leifeng Pagoda? Is this something I can watch without paying?
"Why?" Grindelwald didn't quite understand why Dumbledore had suddenly changed his mind and wanted to release him.
Dumbledore lowered his eyelids and said in a low voice, "The world has been quite turbulent lately. Hogwarts was even attacked by fallen angels last year. We alone cannot protect the human world. I think I need your strength, Gellert."
Grindelwald wanted to say something to Dumbledore, but the words stuck in his throat.
Just spoil him.
"Don't joke around. You know I've been under surveillance by the German and Austrian Ministries of Magic all along." Grindelwald's smile looked like he had a toothache.
"I have a way." Louis suddenly thought of the long-forgotten comrade Square. He took the diary out of the system space, picked it up and shook it vigorously.
And so, young Tom appeared before them.
"Is this your solution?" Grindelwald continued eating slowly, but Dumbledore's eyes lit up.
"A good idea." Dumbledore's eyes lit up, and he greeted Tom with a smile, "Long time no see, Tom."
"Professor," Tom nodded politely.
"This is the rural terrorist who will dominate the scene after you—Mr. Tom Marvolo Riddell," Louis announced solemnly. Tom's face twitched, but he dared not utter a single rebuttal.
"It's Voldemort," Dumbledore explained to Grindelwald in a low voice.
Grindelwald nodded. Even in Nurmengard, he had heard of Mr. Voldemort's infamous reputation, but no one had ever compared the two of them. At least Dumbledore hadn't done so, and Grindelwald didn't think the two had anything in common—except that they were both quite good at dark magic.
Louis saw that Grindelwald's dark magic talent was 19, which was actually stronger than his own. If the Elder Wand was included, it would be 21.
No wonder the Li Huo gas stove has the power to sweep across all of Paris.
In fact, their operational principles differed quite a bit. Grindelwald's goal was for something far better... no, for a greater good. Voldemort, on the other hand, seemed only interested in ruling the wizarding world through violence.
He wasn't even willing to fool people.
You could say he's a pretty pure villain, he really made me cry.
"We can have Tom disguise himself as Voldemort and burn down the entire Nurmengard," Louis suggested. "I happen to remember that Tom is quite good at the Fiendfyre spell. If he can't do it, I can call my girlfriend to burn Nurmengard down."
Catherine:
You just treat me like a gas stove, don't you?
The plan was flawless, since no one knew Dumbledore had ever been there—you mean guards? Don't be ridiculous, Nurmengard had no guards at all. After all, Grindelwald had successfully turned three groups of guards against him when he was in the US. With such a remarkable record, the Austrian Ministry of Magic would have to be out of their minds to have someone guard him.
In reality, Grindelwald is more like imprisoning himself in a self-imposed prison. Because he lost the duel to Dumbledore, he confined himself to Nurmengard. It is also possible that there is a magical contract between the two, which is why Grindelwald has been willingly staying there.
But no matter what, they still had to put on a show. Although Grindelwald wasn't guarded much, his escape would still be a significant matter for the entire wizarding world. It was the perfect excuse for Voldemort to take the blame.
Without hesitation, Tom, amplified by Lewis's magic, successfully summoned a fiery orange flame that engulfed the entire city of Nurmengard.
The plan went smoothly, and no one would think that someone had drunk Polyjuice Potion and turned into Voldemort. Besides, given Voldemort's reborn appearance as a braised egg, it's probably not... too... easy to write about the location where his hair was taken.
And Voldemort "coincidentally" allowed the Aurors of the Austrian Ministry of Magic to see his true face, after which he turned into a wisp of black smoke and left the scene.
Surprisingly, the Austrian Ministry of Magic made no official statement about the incident, keeping it completely under wraps. They only said that the Nurmengard Tower, where Grindelwald was imprisoned, was attacked by an unknown dark wizard, and that Grindelwald died in the tower.
It was rushed, but I didn't want to mention that Voldemort was responsible for all of this, not in the Daily Magic, not through any official channels, not even on the sidelines.
It seems that the four-stage tactic is universally applicable; a certain TV series could indeed be used to govern a country.
Grindelwald now has a different look; he's sitting with his legs crossed in Lewis's office at Hogwarts, eating candy.
"It's hard to imagine that a young person your age would own an office," Grindelwald said with a touch of wistfulness. "It seems you inherited Emma's talent."
"The Rhine River's waves rise and fall, a new generation replaces the old." Louis smiled as he poured Grindelwald a glass of moonberry juice.
"This juice is quite good. I heard it's produced by your Squid Factory?" Grindelwald finished his entire glass of moonberry juice, smacked his lips with a hint of lingering satisfaction, and slammed the glass in front of Louis, gesturing for him to have another.
"Yeah, the Minister of Magic opposed my coming here back then." Louis poured him another glass of juice.
"Fool." Grindelwald sneered, "Your current Minister of Magic is a complete political idiot. If it were me, I wouldn't stop you; instead, I would use this opportunity to gain prestige and consolidate my position."
"After all, there are very few natural-born politicians like you." Louis raised his juice glass in a toasting gesture.
"You're a little fox too." Grindelwald seemed to enjoy the compliment.
