I'm the King of Curry at Hogwarts

Chapter 251 The First Day of the New Semester

Chapter 251 The First Day of the New Semester

Catherine still didn't want Louis to say something that might cause trouble, after all, Emma was someone she really couldn't afford to offend.

After a half-night seminar and consulting with Louis on how exactly to teach the Defense Against the Dark Arts class, Emma finally let go of her good son and told him to quickly crawl off to bed.

The cold, icy rain outside the window continued to lash against it, and the wind was howling loudly, so loud that it could be clearly heard even in the corridor.

The storm had subsided the next morning, but a somber mood still hung over the auditorium ceiling.

For the first time ever, Louis went to the auditorium to check the schedule, as he was debating whether or not to attend the divination class.

Professor Trelawney is so neurotic every day that she's really hard to like.

Fred, George, and Lee Jordan were sitting at the same table, discussing what kind of magical spell they could use to age themselves so they could sneak into the Triwizard Tournament. However, they were talking loudly and had no sense of secrecy whatsoever.

"I told you three to keep your voices down, are you afraid Professor Dumbledore won't hear your plans?" Lewis reminded the three fearless Gryffindor youths.

"Don't worry, we're not concerned about being overheard," Fred said nonchalantly, grinning at Louis. "Don't you want to participate in the Triwizard Tournament? You know, it's a major event that only happens once every five years. You're a fourth-year student now; by the next time it's held, you'll definitely have graduated..."

"Sorry, I'm not interested." Louis shrugged. "Besides, Professor Dumbledore has already said that it would be dangerous for young wizards under the age of 18 to participate in this competition. Wizards our age are not suitable for this kind of event."

"You're talking nonsense, Louis." George's face showed disbelief. "You, saying you're too young to handle it? Good heavens, let alone our sixth-grade classmates, even an adult Auror would have a hard time dealing with you."

"Shh, stop bragging." Louis put his index finger to his lips. "I don't have much ability to begin with, but you guys are practically praising me to the skies. I think you're trying to kill me with praise..."

"How could it be considered flattery? We genuinely believe it from the bottom of our hearts," Li Qiaodan replied.

"I'm glad you acknowledge my abilities," Louis coughed, then changed the subject, "but I don't like the way you talk."

The three quickly exchanged glances and all said they would never brag again.

Just kidding, if you lose credits, you'll have no one to blame but yourself.

"What will happen to Hogwarts if you don't participate in the Triwizard Tournament?" Hermione asked hesitantly from the side.

Louis said somewhat nonchalantly, "You have to learn to trust others. Hogwarts is full of hidden talents; how can you be so sure no one will step up and win honor for the school?"

"So... will Miss Worley participate in the Triwizard Tournament?" Ron asked curiously.

Louis shook his head, indicating that he did not know.

He wouldn't stop Catherine from participating in the Triwizard Tournament. It's fine for her to have some fun. Besides, even if she votes, she might not get in. If nothing unexpected happens, the champions of Hogwarts will be Cedric Diggory and Harry Potter.

Oh, he remembered, in the original story Cedric died at the end of the match. He had to think about that carefully and not let him die so hastily.

Louis had a pretty good impression of him; he was a sunny and cheerful young man with a good temper, and he had never argued with anyone. He was far better than Potter.

Thinking of this, Louis felt a little hungry. Just as he was about to speak, Sakuya handed him a piece of garlic bread spread with butter.

"Do you want to learn magic, Sakuya?" Louis took the bread and looked at Sakuya.

Sakuya paused for a moment, then asked in a low voice, "Didn't I already inherit the profession of the Rogue? How can I still...?"

"Why not give it a try?" Louis shrugged irresponsibly. "What if you have magical talent? Anyway, these two aren't really incompatible."

"Alright." Sakuya nodded in agreement. Magic would definitely be a great help to her. Just think about it, after activating Time Stop, what she throws isn't a throwing knife, but Avada Kedavra...

It's so exciting to think about.

Hermione then walked over and handed Louise a piece of paper.

"What's this?" Louis put down his bread, took the paper, and looked at it. He discovered it was from that organization Hermione had set up to treat house-elves well...

He put down the rather hot potato and, under Hermione's expectant gaze, encouraged her, "Do a good job. I believe in you. If necessary, I'll give you all my support!"

Yes, give her all the support except for help.

"Thank you, Louise!" Hermione opened her arms and gave Louise a warm hug.

She returned to Ron and Harry's side excitedly, raising her chin defiantly at Ron: "Look, even Louise supports me, and you, as my boyfriend, are against me..."

Ron grinned and handed over a piece of bread with two pieces of bacon inside. "Yeah, I'll support you too. You know I'm not the sharpest brain, so I see you're starving. Why don't you eat something?"

Hermione glanced at him helplessly, took the bread, and stuffed it into her mouth.

Just then, a rustling sound came from above, and countless owls flew in through the open window, bringing everyone the morning's mail.

A tawny owl swooped down like a Stuka, flew past Louis, and nestled into Neville's arms.

"I think he's reminding you not to be forgetful this time, Neville," Seamus Finigan chuckled, teasing Neville.

The chubby boy's face was flushed as he muttered that he wasn't forgetful, just had a bad memory, as he took the package off the owl's leg.

But then the question arises: is there a significant connection between being forgetful and having a bad memory?

Not far from Louis, Draco's owl landed on him, bringing him Malfoy family treats. The first thing he did after unpacking the package was to gather a batch of treats and bring them to Louis, giving him some.

"Try it, Louis, it's my mother's cooking." Draco's expression was a little shy and expectant.

"Okay, thank you." Louis smiled and nodded, accepting the snack and handing it to Sakuya.

Seeing Draco hesitate, he asked with concern, "What's wrong, Draco? Is something the matter?"

Draco suddenly realized, "Oh, no, I just wanted to ask you, are you really not participating in the Triwizard Tournament?"

Louis didn't answer immediately. Instead, he picked up his coffee cup, stirred it with a spoon, and then said, "I'm really not interested."

"Then... uh, what about Slytherin?" Draco asked quickly, then suddenly realized it was inappropriate, so he said awkwardly, "Well, that's not what I should be asking... um..."

He immediately changed the subject: "Last night's speech was quite successful; the important points were conveyed to the new students... Also, the guests at Durmstrang would like to get to know you, so..."

"We can meet up when I have some free time," Louis nodded with a smile. "Anyway, I'm pretty free these days."

"Okay, I'll talk to Krum when I get back today." Draco finally relaxed his slightly furrowed brow after getting a definite answer. He had been worried that Louis might agree.

However, it seems that Louis was in a good mood today and did not refuse his suggestion, so he saved face.

The first class today was Professor Sprout's Herbalism class. In fact, the whole morning was spent outdoors. After Herbalism class, we went to the Magical Creatures Protection class with Gryffindor.

Louis had no classes this afternoon, so he was quite relaxed today.

After passing through the damp vegetable garden, we arrived at Greenhouse No. 3, where Professor Sprout was demonstrating a very magical new plant to everyone.

Plants in the magical world tend to grow wildly. Just like the mandrake, which has a bizarre shape like a twisted and strange doll, the plant in front of Professor Sprout is the same. It looks more like a black, slimy slug, wriggling straight out of the soil, with many shiny bulges on its body, which should be full of liquid—if I'm not mistaken.

"Babbo tubers." Professor Sprout didn't seem to think these plants could instill any psychological trauma in the students. She introduced them to them in a relaxed and cheerful tone: "You need to squeeze them with your hands, just like you squeeze pimples. You need to collect the pus."

Louis looked at the wriggling plant in front of him with a somewhat evasive expression, unsure of what to say for a moment.

"What did you say?" Simon Finigan asked with disgust.

"Pus, Finegane, pus!" Professor Sprout said. "It is extremely valuable, so don't waste it. Listen, you must collect the pus into these bottles and wear your dragon-skin gloves—undiluted Bapau tuber pus can cause extraordinary damage to the skin."

It's unclear what Sprout meant by "extremely high value," but Louis guessed it probably wasn't rich in nutritional value.

Imagine if Professor Sprout were Bear Grylls, holding this huge, fat, worm-like baboon tuber, solemnly proclaiming, "This thing has five times the nutritional value of beef..."

The family members looked rather grim.

Speaking of which, Bear Grylls should still be training in the special forces, right?

Somewhat surprisingly, the pus from the Babo tuber had a strong gasoline smell when squeezed out. Looking at the tuber pus in the container, Louis wondered if he would set it on fire if he threw a torch on it.

Before get out of class ended, after the students had finished squeezing out the tubers, Professor Sprout said with a smile, "Mrs. Pomfrey will be happy now. Doesn't anyone know what the pus from the Babo tuber is for?"

The Slytherin students and Hermione all raised their hands in unison.

Madam Pomfrey paused, her gaze shifting uncertainly towards her Slytherin classmates. She called on the chubby Crabbe: "Crabbe, could you tell me what the purpose of the pus from the Barbary tuber is?"

She thought the Slytherin students were just putting on a brave face.

"The pus from the tuber of the 'Babob' is the best medicine for treating stubborn acne," Crabbe replied without hesitation.

Professor Sprout clapped his hands and said loudly, "Good, very good, Slytherin, five points—this pus will stop you from using drastic methods to remove pimples."

"Oh, poor Heloise Midgen," Hannah Abbott murmured. "She tried to use a spell to get rid of her pimples, but accidentally knocked her nose off instead..."

Ron shuddered, nudged Harry, and whispered with a wink, "Look how ruthless women can be to themselves, especially when it comes to beauty... Good heavens, I could never do that."

"So you're not a woman." Harry said, raising his hands and patting Ron on the shoulder, like two clowns.

The bell rang, signaling the end of get out of class, and everyone dispersed. Students from all four houses walked down the lawn together towards Hagrid's cabin at the edge of the Forbidden Forest.

Hagrid stood outside the cabin waiting for his classmates, holding his hound Tooth on one hand, with several open wooden crates at his feet.

As you get closer, you can even hear clicking sounds coming from inside the box, occasionally mixed with faint crackling sounds.

"Good morning, students!" Hagrid greeted everyone with a smile. "I think a new semester must have new courses, and we'll also learn about new creatures. So—are you ready? I'm sure you don't want to miss this—ta-da, the Blast-tailed Snail!"

"Huh?" Ron stared at the box with one eye open and the other closed.

"Bomb-tailed snail," Hagrid said, widening the opening of the box to show everyone his masterpiece.

"Yoo...disgusting!" The female students' first reaction was to jump away and get away from the so-called "exploding tail snail".

They were right, it really was disgusting, um... it was like a shelled lobster. If you had to use an adjective, it would be extremely disgusting. Grayish-white, slimy body with a lot of tentacles, it really made you lose your sanity.

Moreover, these fried-tailed snails don't taste very good, emitting a very strong ammonia smell. Occasionally, a fried-tailed snail will even shoot out a spark from its tail, followed by a soft sound, and then it will launch itself forward and shoot several inches.

Louis was starting to understand. This kind of thing could probably be explained by scientific principles. They seemed to be spraying a flammable gas like methane from their buttocks—which would also explain the strong ammonia smell—and then they were propelled forward by a kind of propulsion principle.

Where have I seen this thing before? Louis thought about it for a long time before he remembered that there was a movie with a similar monster.
