I'm the King of Curry at Hogwarts

Chapter 268 Catherine's Match

Knowing that she was facing a fire dragon in this match, Catherine did not feel afraid or nervous. On the contrary, she was even a little happy.

From the moment she met Christa, Catherine often sparred with her, and sometimes even asked Christa to reveal her true form.

At first, when she was told that she would be facing a fire dragon, Catherine thought that the fire dragon would be like the prototype of Christa, a graceful adult dragon that was twenty or thirty meters long. However, after seeing the appearance of the Hungarian Hornet, her impression of the fire dragon was slightly shattered.

To be honest, even if Christa revealed her true form, it was still clear that she was an intelligent being; but the Hungarian Horned Bee was different. Its first impression was that of a complete beast.

Catherine stood calmly in front of the Hungarian wood bee, remaining unmoved no matter how much it hissed.

The Hungarian wood bee seemed to be provoked, perhaps taking Catherine's indifference as a challenge. With a forceful tug of its wings, the chain snapped with a clang.

The students in the stands clearly saw the fire dragon break free of the thick iron chain, and they couldn't help but gasp in surprise, feeling a pang of worry for Catherine.

"Roar—" The Hungarian wood wasp roared to the sky, flapped its wings and took off, opening its blood-red maw in mid-air, a stream of pale blue flames surging out toward Catherine.

Catherine calmly waved her wand, and something astonishing happened: the flame made a 180-degree turn, spraying towards the head of the Hungarian wood bee.

The Hungarian wood bee clearly hadn't expected this to happen. The flames scorched its head as it spun around, and it let out a heart-wrenching roar before collapsing to the ground with a thud.

"Very beautiful. Miss Wore's magic worked. She deflected the Hungarian wood bee's fire breath, letting it taste the heat of its own flames. Well done," Mr. Bagman explained to everyone.

Under everyone's curious gaze, the Hungarian wood wasp visibly froze on the ground for a moment. Fortunately, it was thick-skinned and tough, so the injury was nothing to it; it had only been startled. It propped itself up with its wings, shook its head to try and clear its head, and then refocused its vertical pupils. This time, it was smarter; instead of flapping its wings, it swiftly crawled towards Catherine.

Catherine flicked her wand, and a pale blue spell shot out, striking the Hungarian wood bee on the head and sending its head snapping back dramatically.

The moment Catherine cast her spell, Mr. Bagman exclaimed, "What is Miss Worley doing? It looks like she's going to cast Stun. For students her age, being able to cast Stun silently is extremely rare. When I was her age, I only knew Quidditch—but can ordinary spells really work on dragons? Or Hungarian Hornet… Good heavens! I can't believe my eyes! The world's most ferocious dragon, the Hungarian Hornet, has been knocked back by a sixth-year student's spell… Good heavens, are young people these days so terrifying?"

He was clearly unaware that Catherine had already held back – she felt it would be inappropriate to use her signature Fiercefire, otherwise the fight would probably have ended much earlier.

A cheer rose from the students' seats as they shouted Catherine's name.

The Hungarian Hornet tried to advance several times, but was knocked dizzy by the Stun spell. However, Catherine was in no hurry to defeat it, as if she wanted to slowly toy with it. After each Stun spell, she would stop and observe for a while, seemingly trying to figure out how the fire dragon would react under the spell.

The Hungarian wood bee wasn't intelligent enough to understand Catherine's intentions, but even if it was stupid, it knew that the little thing in front of it was difficult to deal with. At this moment, it stopped blindly charging forward and slowly retreated, creating distance to find the perfect opportunity to attack Catherine again.

"Good heavens, what am I seeing?" Mr. Bagman exclaimed in disbelief. "I've seen the once-arrogant Hungarian wood wasp backing down in front of humans! Good heavens, what kind of trauma has Miss Worley inflicted on this fire dragon?"

"Hey, Catherine!"

A loud shout from Solanlian echoed from the stands. Catherine heard her mother's call, turned her head, and saw Solanlian waving her arms.

"How many times have I told you!" Solarian roared angrily, "Don't play with your food!"

The entire arena was silent for a while before bursting into good-natured laughter. No one expected that Solanlian would make such a joke in such a serious setting.

Catherine glanced helplessly at her mother, but in that brief moment, the Hungarian hornet suddenly moved!

It took flight once more, swooping down with unparalleled power towards Catherine!

The students in the stands all paled, and Hermione even cried out, "Catherine! The dragon has moved!"

Unfortunately, her voice was drowned out by the clamor of the crowd.

Amidst everyone's anxious gazes, Catherine flicked her wand, and a spell brighter than any she had ever cast before shot from its tip, striking the Hungarian Hornet on the head and flipping it over.

The Hungarian thorn bee landed face down on the rough ground with a thud, prompting cheers from the audience.

That's amazing, Catherine! In the hundreds of years since Hogwarts was founded, has any student ever been able to defeat a fully grown dragon head-on? Today, Catherine did it, accomplishing an unprecedented feat.

Catherine walked slowly up to the nest where the dragon eggs were. Just as she was about to take the golden egg, a gasp suddenly came from the crowd. She looked up and saw that the Hungarian wood bee had stubbornly stood up again.

"It's the Hungarian Hornet! It didn't give up on this match. It stood up tenaciously. At this moment, it inherited the will of its ancestors. It's not a dragon fighting!" Mr. Bagman didn't know whose side he was on, but given the current situation, perhaps... Catherine was more like the villain.

The Hungarian wood bee looked up at the nest above, then took its first steps and laboriously began to climb upwards.

Amidst the watchful eyes of the crowd, the Hungarian Hornet climbed onto the dragon's nest. After letting out a long howl, it looked down at Catherine, its vertical pupils flashing as if it were deep in thought.

Catherine didn't care what the dragon was thinking. She pointed her wand at the Hungarian bee, tapped its head, and then pointed downwards.

The onlookers held their breath, unsure of what Catherine's actions meant. No one dared to utter a sound, fearing they might be distracted and fail to understand what was happening.

The Hungarian wood beetle howled again, but this time it wasn't as powerful as before. Everyone felt that the wood beetle's roar sounded somewhat aggrieved, whether it was just their imagination or not.

Its roars grew shorter and more aggrieved with each cry.

Finally, under Catherine's cold gaze, the Hungarian wood bee let out another aggrieved howl and made a move that shocked everyone present.

It... actually turned around and jumped off the cliff, then cowered in a corner, staring at Catherine with its yellow vertical pupils, looking at her with a pitiful expression.

Catherine's lips curled into an arrogant smile. She pointed her wand at the golden egg and chanted, "Accio Rock!"

The stone behind the golden egg wobbled and hit the golden egg in the nest. The golden egg rolled down and flew into Catherine's hand.

The reason for this unnecessary step was that, to prevent the warriors from obtaining the golden egg too easily, the team had placed a spell on it, making it immune to summoning spells. Catherine then used a stone behind the flying golden egg to push it, essentially exploiting a small bug.

Mr. Bagman stood there stunned for a full half minute, until Dumbledore subtly stepped on his foot before he came to his senses: "Good heavens, I'm not so sure who the real dragon is..."

Louis couldn't hold back and burst out laughing.

"New nickname acquired," said Catherine, the mother tyrannosaurus.

The staff rushed forward and re-chained the frightened Hungarian hornet. Louis noticed the most conspicuous red-haired staff member—Charlie Weasley. He cautiously approached him and, after some trial and error, finally put the chain on the Hungarian hornet.

Having worked at the dragon farm for nearly three years, Charlie swore he had never seen anything like it before; he had never seen a Hungarian wood wasp show such fear.

"Alright, I'm sure everyone is quite shocked by Miss Wore's skill, but we still need to follow the proper procedures. Next, our judges will be scoring," Mr. Bagman said. "The highest score is ten, and the lowest is one. We hope the judges will award scores fairly and impartially."

Catherine, holding the golden egg, had returned to her Slytherin seat and was sitting next to Louis.

"How are you feeling?" Louis asked in a low voice.

"Nothing to be ashamed of," Catherine said casually, placing the golden egg in Louis's arms and leaning down to give him a deep kiss on the cheek. "It's just a little lizard, what's there to talk about..."

After saying that, she leaned close to Christasa's ear and whispered, "Your skill called Dragon's Might is pretty good. I only simulated it a little, and it couldn't hold up."

Kristasa thought to herself, "I am a true descendant of the Guardian Dragons. Using my Dragon Might against this fire dragon, which is not even as powerful as the Proto-Dragon, is really like using a cannon to kill a mosquito."

But she didn't say that. She just smiled at Catherine, praying in her heart that her mistress would use this dragon's might on a more powerful being next time.

The first judge, Mrs. Maxime, raised her wand into the air, and a long, silver ribbon-like thing shot out, twisting and transforming into a large "10".

"She's very fair," Louis said softly. "I think Hagrid really likes Mrs. Maxime, and they seem like a good match. Why don't we try to set them up?"

"Good idea." Catherine smiled slightly; she was in a good mood.

Just then, Ron and Hermione squeezed through the crowd. Hermione ran over and hugged Catherine tightly. After letting go, she laughed and said, "My goodness, Catherine, you're amazing! You actually managed to force a dragon to leave its lair..."

"If you can beat it, you can too," Catherine said with a smile, not at all annoyed by Hermione's sudden hug. She stroked Hermione's fluffy head.

Hermione thought for a moment. If she were in the Mirror World, she might have the courage to face a dragon, but this was the real world, and if she died, she would really die... So she shook her head and said, "Forget it, I can't do that. Making Grindylow fear is already my limit..."

As they were talking, the judges gave their scores again. This time it was Mr. Lovegood, who also gave it a perfect score of ten.

Then it was Dumbledore's turn, who gave him a perfect score, and the cheers from the audience grew even louder.

Ludo Bagman, following in Dumbledore's footsteps, also gave it a perfect score—ten out of ten.

Finally, it was Karkaroff's turn. His face contorted for a long time—he really wanted to give Catherine a low score, but all the judges gave her a perfect score, and Catherine's outstanding performance was obvious to everyone. After thinking it over, he finally decided to give her a perfect score.

He knew Catherine's mother, the Great Demon Lord Solanlian. Back then, as a Death Eater, he was captured by Solanlian. Hearing that she was also present, Karkaroff, to avoid unnecessary beatings, willingly chose to give her a perfect score.

Furthermore, after considering it, he figured that if he gave a low score, even if Solarian didn't say anything, the Hogwarts students would probably drown him in their spit.

The Hogwarts students weren't surprised by Karkaroff's grade, but the Durmstrang students were genuinely taken aback that their usually stingy professor would give someone a perfect score. They stared blankly at their headmaster until Karkaroff impatiently scolded them, at which point they joined the cheering.

Cheers for Catherine continued to rise and fall from the crowd. Now, it wasn't just the students from Hogwarts; even students from other schools, such as Beauxbatons and Durmstrang, were impressed by Catherine's performance and stood up to celebrate with her.

"Alright, alright," Mr. Bagman said, standing up two minutes later to stop the celebration. "After all, there are still six contestants to go, and we have to wait for their performances."

The crowd finally calmed down, still feeling a bit unsatisfied. After a long pause, Mr. Bagman called out loudly, "Please welcome our next contestant, from Hogwarts—Cedric Diggory!"
