My Strange Tale Love Strategy Simulator

Chapter 107 The Plague Messenger

Shen Yugang opened his mouth, but didn't know what to say.

Zhang Ying leaned against the wall, closed his eyes, and forced himself to calm down.

What he just saw was definitely not an illusion.

He was certain his eyes hadn't deceived him; the couple's passionate kiss was real, their startled shouts were real, and Jack's action of closing the door was real.

But the two corpses in the house were also real.

Two completely different realities coexist in the same space.

The only variable is Jack.

When Jack was there, the house was filled with couples deeply in love.

Jack is gone, leaving only a rotting corpse in the house.

"So," Zhang Ying opened his eyes and muttered to himself, "when Jack was beside me, two corpses that had been dead for days suddenly came back to life?"

Shen Yugang felt a chill run down his spine.

"Brother Ying, what are you saying?"

Zhang Ying did not answer. He turned around and looked in the direction where Jack had disappeared; there was no one to be seen on that empty street.

"Could it be that the entire world here revolves around Jack's consciousness?" Zhang Ying's voice was soft, filled with doubt. "The scenes Jack sees are only presented according to what Jack wants to see?"

Shen Yugang swallowed hard: "You mean... Jack thought there were living people living in that house, so he saw them? He thought the people in the town were just 'shy' and 'kept indoors,' so he couldn't see the corpses?"

Zhang Ying neither nodded nor shook his head.

He was still thinking about another problem.

If that's the case, is Jack a real person, or is he part of the movie world itself?

He is the protagonist of this world, so the world revolves around him.

But his consciousness is also shaping this world; whatever he sees, that's what the world presents.

So is he a "person" or some kind of vehicle through which the world presents itself?

Just as Zhang Ying was having a brainstorming session, he suddenly heard a series of faint sounds coming from in front of him.

The sound was very faint, as if something was crawling inside the corpse, its tiny claws rubbing against the rotting flesh and bones, making a rustling sound.

Zhang Ying immediately became alert and looked ahead.

The wooden door of the hut was ajar, and the two highly decomposed corpses lay on the table inside.

The sparse sounds were coming from inside the corpse.

Immediately afterwards, a rat crawled out of the corpse!

The rat was a size larger than a normal rat, and its fur was grayish and covered with dark red stains.

After it crawled out, it stood on the corpse's head and straightened up.

He stared straight at Zhang Ying with his small, black bean-like eyes.

Zhang Ying felt a chill run down his spine.

That look in her eyes was off.

Ordinary rats don't have that kind of look in their eyes. There was no fear, no wariness, no instinctive reaction that an animal should have in its eyes.

It was staring at Zhang Ying, staring intently without moving.

It felt like something had seen right through you, from your skin to your muscles to your bones to your soul; everything was exposed to those tiny, black bean-like eyes.

He instinctively took a step back.

"Brother Ying?" Shen Yugang noticed Zhang Ying's unusual behavior and followed his gaze. "It's just a rat, you..."

He hadn't finished speaking.

"Snap!"

The rat's entire body exploded without warning.

Its body resembled a bursting balloon, with skin and muscles splattering in all directions, and blood and internal organs spilling everywhere.

Shen Yugang was so startled by this sudden scene that he took several steps back and almost fell to the ground.

Zhang Ying did not back down.

His uncanny eyes caught something even stranger.

After the rat exploded, its scattered body parts and bits of flesh didn't fall to the ground. They hovered in mid-air for a moment, then, as if drawn by some force, began to gather towards the center.

Meat scraps are glued together, bones are pieced together, and blood flows back into the tissues.

The remains seemed to be reassembled by an invisible hand, tumbling, merging, and reshaping in the air.

Zhang Ying sensed something was wrong.

He raised his head and looked around.

The yin energy that had been drifting in the sky and around the houses all surged toward the coalescing tumor at this moment. The black energy flowed like rivers flowing into the sea, converging from all directions and penetrating into the tumor.

As the yin energy accumulates, the tumor grows larger and larger.

It tumbled in the air, its surface constantly expanding and contracting.

Shen Yugang was so frightened that he couldn't speak. His legs were trembling, his teeth were chattering, and he was completely rooted to the spot, unable to move.

Immediately afterwards, the tumor began to grow limbs.

First came two arms, long and twisted, extending from either side of the tumor, like two withered twigs. Then came two legs, dangling down from the bottom, making a cracking sound at the joints.

The thing gradually stood up.

Its body continued to change, its skin turning from flesh-colored to grayish-black, its surface covered with cracks and wrinkles. Its head emerged from the top of the tumor, hairless and earless, with only a smooth, gray face.

Then, a strange bird-beak mask emerged from the head of the tumor.

The mask was black, with a metallic sheen, and its beak-like part was long and pointed, like the beak of a crow.

The mask burrowed out from under its skin, as if it were being pushed out from the inside. The skin was torn apart, revealing the muscles and bones underneath, but it was quickly covered by newly grown tissue.

A mask covered that gray face.

A pair of dark yellow eyes were visible through the eye openings of the mask.

Those eyes were devoid of any emotion, as empty as two abysses.

The thing had stood up completely, about the height of a person, with long, thin limbs and a shriveled torso, like a dried-up corpse wearing a bird-beak mask.

It stood there in the shadows in front of the hut, motionless, like a sculpture.

Zhang Ying stared intently at it, trying to figure out what this thing was all about.

Then the thing moved.

Its head slowly turned, its beak pointing in Zhang Ying's direction. Zhang Ying's image was reflected in the dark yellow eyes beneath the mask.

It slowly emitted a sound.

His voice was hoarse and dry, like two pieces of sandpaper rubbing against each other, and each word seemed to be squeezed out from the depths of his throat.

"Invaders, annihilate them."

At the same time, a panel appeared in Zhang Ying's mysterious eyes.
