My Strange Tale Love Strategy Simulator

Chapter 7 Good Brother Wang Fangshe

On March 21, morning exercises had just ended at Dacang No. 3 Middle School, and students from Class 3 were returning to their classrooms one after another. The tightly closed doors and windows were all opened, and a cold draft blew into the classroom, making the students in their school uniforms shiver.

Zhang Ying lay slumped in his seat, too weak to sit up, staring blankly at the scenery outside the window.

Because of the soreness in his body, he didn't do the morning exercises. In order to have a better chance of survival in the doomed situation four days later, he chose to come to school after only one day of rest, hoping to gather more information.

According to current intelligence, the most useful information comes from their class's homeroom teacher, Zhou Yuan, who is also their English teacher.

She has many nicknames, such as Zhou Bapi, Zhou Miejue, and Zhou Shitai, all of which illustrate her brutal educational methods.

If we want to get information from her, we need to come up with a better way.

"Sigh, I wonder if Teacher Zhou would be willing to share her past relationship."

Just as Zhang Ying was sighing to himself, a nonsensical voice rang in his ears: "Old Zhang, what's with all that sighing? Don't you know that a person's energy and spirit are drained away with every sigh? You've been sighing too much lately, and you look much weaker!"

"Get out of here, even if I'm weak, my body is still better than yours." Zhang Ying wondered who had said that.

He turned his head and saw Wang Fangshe grinning, showing off his bright white teeth. "How about it, young master? I recently learned a new technique that cures tartar and yellow teeth. Do you think my teeth are white?"

"What kind of stuff do you study all day long?" Zhang Ying's lips twitched.

He looked at Wang Fangshe's face, took a deep breath, and his expression was complicated.

Originally, Wang Fangshe was just an ordinary Taoist priest with no real ability to tell fortunes or write talismans in his mind. But after witnessing the power of that talisman string, he no longer knew how to view Wang Fangshe.

Zhang Ying glanced at Wang Fangshe from head to toe. He was wearing a pained outfit under his school uniform, and his desk was full of character standees and exquisite illustrations. Where was the basic etiquette of a Taoist priest?

But then he thought about it again, slapped his forehead, and sighed once more.

Actually, it's partly his fault; Wang Fangshe wasn't like this before.

When they first arrived at high school, the two deskmates were both relatively unknown and had few acquaintances. Wang Fangshe was quite shy and reserved at that time, and because of his special identity as a Taoist priest, he often faced gossip from those around him.

At that time, Zhang Ying didn't think too much about it, and he thought it would be cool to have a Taoist priest as a friend, so he got to know Wang Fangshe.

At that time, he loved playing dating games, and as a friend, he naturally shared the game with Wang Fangshe.

But who would have thought? Wang Fangshe, a Taoist priest, seemed to have discovered a new continent, throwing himself headlong into dating games. He regarded dating games as his second home, and his personality gradually changed from the cowardly and timid one he once was to the carefree and irresponsible person he is today.

These days, he can't even compete with Wang Fangshe in dating sims anymore; he even receives installation packages from him every week. His past pursuit of a life of purity and detachment through cultivation is long forgotten.

"No, why are you sighing like that? Do I look strange?" Wang Fangshe looked at the anime outfit he was wearing under his school uniform with a puzzled expression. "I didn't wear anything wrong, this is my outfit, isn't it?"

Upon hearing this, Zhang Ying sighed again.

He propped himself up from the table, his spine cracking and sputtering, the aching pain making him grimace and clench his teeth.

Zhang Ying looked at the Taoist bun on Wang Fangshe's head, and his mind gradually became active.

Although the simulator mission was supposed to let me solve the ghost stories on my own, the fact that my cousin provided me with information but didn't trigger any mission penalties shows that as long as what I get in the end is something I can control, that's fine with me.

It's too risky to let Lao Wang give you the talisman directly. It might even attract Lao Wang's attention, and if he were to solve the strange tale, things would be completely messed up.

But if Old Wang only teaches me a couple of moves, that should be fine, right? Once I learn them, they're mine, so it shouldn't violate the requirement to complete the mission independently.

Thinking of this, Zhang Ying's gaze towards Wang Fangshe intensified, sending a chill down Wang Fangshe's spine.

"What exactly are you trying to do?" Wang Fangshe asked Zhang Ying, arms crossed and looking at him warily.

Zhang Ying gradually raised the corners of his mouth and said to Wang Fangshe with a grin, "Old Wang, we've known each other for so many years, we should be considered best buddies, right?"

Upon hearing this, Wang Fangshe immediately became alert. "What do you want? Let me tell you, I don't have any money! Even if today is Crazy Thursday, don't even think about it!"

"How could I borrow money from you? I just wanted to ask, Lao Wang, do you have any spells that ordinary people can learn in a day or two?" Zhang Ying asked.

Wang Fangshe frowned, realizing this was not a simple matter. He loosened his grip, scratched the back of his neck, and asked suspiciously, "Why are you asking about this? I told you I'd teach you, but you absolutely refused to learn."

"Hey, the past is the past, the present is the present. So, just tell me, are you going to teach me or not!"

Wang Fangshe stroked his chin, pondered for a moment, and then said, "I can teach it, but it's a technique that can be learned in a day or two. I really need to think about it... By the way, would you like to learn my technique for removing plaque and yellowing teeth? Although it can't be learned in a day or two, it's quite useful for cleaning the mouth."

"Cough cough cough!" Zhang Ying choked on his own saliva upon hearing this and quickly waved his hand, saying, "Could you give me some useful magic? The kind that can protect me from strange things."

Upon hearing this, Wang Fangshe hissed, "Have you been possessed lately?"

"How could a hot-blooded and upright young man like me possibly encounter evil spirits? Those evil spirits would be terrified to death by the righteous energy emanating from me!" Zhang Ying patted his strong arms, his expression calm, but cold sweat was pouring down the back of his neck.

"I've been reading too many supernatural novels lately, and I was wondering if there were any ways to deal with something if I really encountered something evil."

"Didn't you say you're young and hot-blooded?" Wang Fangshe revealed a mocking smile. "Alright, I know. Although pursuing quick success is not advisable, a method that can be mastered in a day or two and still allow you to survive against those filthy things...hiss~ I actually have one here, but if you want to practice it, you'll need talent."

"Really?!" Zhang Ying had only asked the question on a whim, but he didn't expect Wang Fangshe to actually have a method, and his eyes lit up instantly.

"One is a mind-cleansing mantra, and the other is a body-purifying mantra. If you write down the methods, I should be able to give them to you after school this afternoon. But since I've already given you the methods, what should you call me?" Wang Fangshe's lips gradually curled up.

"Good brother!"

"Go! Go! Go!"

Wang Fangshe was scribbling on his notebook with a water-based pen, while Zhang Ying was figuring out how to get information out of Teacher Zhou.

The school bell rang, followed by the rapid clatter of high heels from outside the classroom. The students, who had been playing and chatting inside, instantly fell silent, quickly returning to their seats, straightening their backs, and sitting upright.

Zhang Ying looked towards the classroom door and almost forgot that this class was Teacher Zhou's class.
