My Strange Tale Love Strategy Simulator

Chapter 80 Numerical Values

Zhang Ying did not turn around and go upstairs.

Going home to get lock-picking tools and then returning would take at least two minutes.

What can you do in two minutes?

The room, filled with yin energy, was enough to swallow three lives whole, leaving no time for cries for help to escape through the cracks in the door.

He gripped the doorknob tightly with his right hand, his five fingers curled up, the knuckles wedged into the curve of the handle.

Without any preparatory effort, he simply tensed his right arm muscles and pulled his elbow back. The latch screamed as it was ripped out of the metal door frame, screw and all!

He pulled the entire security door open, and the screw holes on the door frame broke into several twisted holes, with iron filings falling to his feet.

The moment the door opened, a thick cloud of black smoke rushed out of the room.

The surrounding temperature suddenly dropped a few degrees, and Zhang Ying's breath condensed into a small, fleeting white mist at the corner of his mouth.

He raised his hand and fanned away the black mist in front of him before stepping over the threshold.

There wasn't a soul in the room.

The living room lights were on; they were warm-toned ceiling lights that shone on the off-white sofa, on the cartoon-patterned mugs on the coffee table, and on a thriving potted green ivy next to the TV cabinet.

The leaves of the pothos were still swaying gently in the breeze from the air conditioner, as if to prove that someone had lived in this room just minutes before.

On the coffee table were three sets of bowls and chopsticks that hadn't been cleared away. There was one large bowl and two small bowls, the edges of which were printed with different animal patterns. Half a bowl of seaweed and egg drop soup remained at the bottom of the small bowls.

The TV was on, and the animation channel was showing an animated film whose name he didn't recognize. On screen, an orange cat was chasing a blue mouse. The cheerful film was completely silent, like a mold.

Zhang Ying walked quietly, his shoes making almost no sound on the tiles. He stood in the center of the living room and slowly turned around.

The black mist didn't drift in from outside a window; it originated from inside the room, specifically from the ceiling.

The ceiling was covered with countless black footprints!

The footprints started in the living room entryway, circled the ceiling, passed directly above the coffee table, passed above the TV cabinet, and then turned a corner at the entrance to the bedroom.

The footprints were about the size of an adult man's foot, with five distinct toes. Each step was taken with extreme force, as if someone crawling on the ceiling wanted to embed their feet into the cement.

Following the footprints on the ceiling, Zhang Ying walked into the short corridor connecting the master bedroom, the second bedroom, the children's room, and the bathroom.

The corridor wasn't long; you could walk through it in three steps at most. But the footprints on the ceiling were so dense that it was unnerving.

They are no longer one-way streets, but crisscross and interweave, with dark blue marks layer upon layer, almost staining the ceiling of the entire corridor a dark, bruised color.

New yin energy kept emerging from these footprints, seeping downwards in wisps, like raindrops flowing backwards.

All four doors were tightly closed.

Zhang Ying gripped the doorknob of the master bedroom and pressed it down while holding his breath.

The door opened.

A bedside lamp was lit in the master bedroom, the blankets were neatly folded, and a parenting book that was half-read was on the bedside table, with a ballpoint pen tucked between the pages.

There was a circle of footprints on the ceiling, which went around the top of the wardrobe, then turned back, paused above the headboard, and then turned out of the doorway.

The house was empty.

He stepped out, turned around, and pushed open the door to the second bedroom.

This room is smaller than the master bedroom, with several storage boxes and a simple desk piled up. Two pieces of children's clothing that haven't been taken down are hanging on the clothes rack in the corner.

The footprints on the ceiling circled twice, but there was still no one there.

A sense of unease surged from deep within Zhang Ying's chest. Without letting himself dwell on it, he walked a few steps to the door of the children's room.

A crookedly drawn card was pasted on the door, with the words "Brother's Room" written on it in crayon.

The crayon strokes were heavy, and several letters were smudged so thickly that they stood out starkly in the cold, gloomy light of the corridor.

He took a deep breath and abruptly pushed the hand away.

The bunk bed has a blue sheet on the top bunk and a pink sheet on the bottom bunk. A dinosaur plush toy and a rabbit plush toy sit side-by-side at the head of the bed; the rabbit's ears are pulled askew to one side.

The curtains were half-drawn, and the streetlight shining through the window shone directly on the railing of the bunk bed, where a sock was hanging.

nobody.

There was no one in this room.

The only thing left in the whole house that was still closed was the bathroom door.

Zhang Ying walked to the bathroom door, raised his hand, and grasped the doorknob.

The metal handle was icy cold.

Just as he was about to press down, his ear suddenly twitched.

He heard a strange sound.

The sound was extremely faint and sticky, like a drop of extremely viscous liquid dripping from the ceiling and hitting the tiled floor.

The sound came from very close, almost on the other side of the door.

Zhang Ying's eyes turned cold, and only an almost deathly indifference remained on his handsome face.

He released his right hand from the doorknob and took two steps back.

With legs spread apart, center of gravity lowered, right side of body twisted sharply backward, the whole body like a fully drawn bow.

The muscles in my right arm stretched to their limit in an instant, the veins on my arm bulged, and the skin on my forearm torn apart inch by inch under extreme tension, but there was no bleeding or bloody wounds.

What was revealed after the skin cracked open was not bone or tendons, but a dark surface with fine wood grain!

The wood grain peeked out from the cracks in the skin, gleaming with a very faint, matte sheen in the cold, damp air of the corridor.

He put all his strength into the fingertips of his right hand, his five fingers forming a claw shape, and his entire right arm propelled his body forward, his palm suddenly accelerating less than an inch from the door!

boom! !

The wooden plank was smashed straight through!

His right hand pierced through the wood chips and grabbed a cylindrical object on the other side of the door panel, which resembled a neck.

The skin-like touch in my palm was cool, smooth, and devoid of any body temperature, like holding a piece of marble that had just been taken out of a cold storage.

"ah--!!!"

A sharp, miserable scream suddenly came from behind the door, so loud it almost pierced Zhang Ying's eardrums!

The explosive scream shattered the deathly silence of the room almost at the same moment Zhang Ying's fingers tightened.

He gritted his teeth and didn't let go, all the muscles in his body bulging in an instant.

The loose-fitting short-sleeved shirt I just put on today made a tearing sound as the fabric fibers were stretched to their limit. A thin, long tear appeared at the cuff seam, revealing my arm with its veins bulging!

He suddenly pulled his right side back, shifting his weight onto his hind leg, the taut muscles of his thigh making his shorts bulge.

The hole in the door, pierced by his right arm, widened by half a circle with this pull, and wood chips fell from the broken edge of the door panel with a crackling sound.

He forcefully dragged a dark blue-green object out of the door!

First it was the neck he gripped, then the shoulders, torso, and legs.

A male humanoid monster covered in bruises was dragged out of the broken doorway by the back of his neck. His heel hit the broken door frame, and his whole body slammed heavily onto the corridor floor tiles with a dull thud!
