The Heavens: One World, One Superpower
Chapter 102 Obtaining the Bodhi Seed
The ground was rugged, with exposed rocks, all rusted red, like a piece of rusted iron.
The nine dragon corpses pulled the coffin, and the place where they stopped was also a huge five-colored altar.
A thin barrier of light hung above the altar, while a sandstorm raged outside, with endless winds and sand pelting down on it. The barrier seemed on the verge of cracking, but ultimately, it failed to break through its protective embrace.
Su Chen knew this was Mars. Thanks to the energy shield emanating from the Great Thunderclap Temple above, this group of people were able to breathe, walk, and explore on Mars. Without hesitation, he quickly walked towards the Great Thunderclap Temple, which was more than two hundred meters away, disappearing in an instant.
The people behind him were taken aback by what they saw.
Pang Bo stared in disbelief and said to Ye Fan, "Could he be a god?"
Ye Fan shook his head and said, "Let's not think about immortals or anything like that. Don't you think there must be some great opportunities and treasures in a place that even a highly skilled person like him goes to?"
Pang Bo's eyes lit up, and he quickly pulled Ye Fan towards the Great Thunderclap Temple. The others followed suit; everyone had a herd mentality, especially in this unfamiliar environment. Herd mentality meant sharing hardships and ensuring that good fortune wouldn't be monopolized. Even the huge stone tablet beside the altar, with its inscription of the characters "Yinghuo" (荧惑), went uninterrupted.
Su Chen arrived at the foot of a towering ancient tree, reached out and took a Bodhi seed from it. After thinking for a moment, he used his bronze ancient sword to cut off a section of a branch, but the inside was already dry.
Holding the Bodhi seed in his hand, it felt slightly cool to the touch, like jade. About the size of a walnut, its color was a dark gray, and its natural patterns formed a Buddha image, subtly exuding a Zen-like aura. Su Chen was familiar with the plot and knew that it contained the will of Shakyamuni Buddha; those with weak wills were easily influenced and subtly swayed by the Buddhist trend. However, the Bodhi seed had immense power; it could defy the heavens to increase enlightenment, ignore the karmic fire in the Fire Domain, purify evil spirits, and protect the mind. Later, it could grow into a new Bodhi divine medicine.
Having obtained this treasure, Su Chen did not enter the Great Thunderclap Temple. Although the Buddhist treasures inside were valuable, he was not a greedy person. He immediately returned to the Five-Colored Altar and carefully examined the nine giant dragon corpses and the bronze coffin.
The coffin, named the "Three Incarnations Bronze Coffin," consists of three layers: outer, middle, and inner. The outer layer is engraved with imperial patterns and can withstand stellar storms. The middle layer contains ancient star paths, traces of the Desolate Heavenly Emperor's Dao, the Nine Secrets, and fragments of the Immortal Realm. The inner layer contains a fragmented Immortal Realm undergoing evolution and the Dao-Merging Flower. It is a core foreshadowing element in the Shrouding the Heavens trilogy, serving as the temporal and spatial vessel for the Desolate Heavenly Emperor's eternal plan.
The Nine Dragons are not living dragons, but the remains of ancient immortal dragons. They were reshaped and refined into puppets by the Desolate Emperor using the laws of the Immortal Emperor, and used to pull the coffin across the universe, suppress the strange, and protect the bronze coffin.
The origin of the Three-Life Coffin is extremely ancient, crafted by the supreme being above the first sacrificial path in this world. This being contracted a strange and incurable disease due to sacrificing to the heavens, also known as the Red-Haired Ominous One, and self-immolated, sealing his ashes in the coffin and burying it on a secluded plateau. The plateau collapsed, the ashes leaked out, and the Ten Strange Progenitors were born, who are also the source of darkness.
Shi Hao quelled the remnant Immortal Emperor, obtained the bronze coffin, and placed the shattered Immortal Realm into its inner and middle layers. He refined the Nine Dragons Pulling the Coffin, banished it to the universe, and laid out an eternal contingency plan. He concealed Dao principles, inheritances, and coordinates to select future Heavenly Emperors. He evolved the Immortal Realm, left signals, and awaited future generations to fight together against the Heavens.
It can be said that the Nine Dragons Pulling the Coffin spans countless years.
Su Chen reached out and gently stroked the Nine Dragons Coffin, then turned away from it and looked at the stone tablet.
The stone tablet is inscribed with the characters "荧惑" (Yínghuò).
