Youxin was the last to return. When he emerged from the burrow, baring his teeth, the giant wolf beauty let out an excited growl, and everyone's hearts, which had been hanging in suspense, finally settled down.

He crawled out of the hole, brushed the dirt off his knees, took the water pouch from the wolf's mouth, took a sip, and then spoke:

"It's twice the size of the 'courtyard' we're standing in. It's a natural funnel that sinks down, surrounded by slopes. The goblins carved narrow steps into the slopes, stacking them up like terraced fields."

There are three to five small holes on each step. I just roughly counted, and there are seven or eight holes that I can see. I can't say for sure about the ones I didn't see.

He tossed the water pouch back to the wolf's mouth, frowned, sniffed his own body, and said with a frown:

"It's hard to say exactly how many goblins there are, but I saw at least sixty or seventy. Most of them were huddled in those small holes, while the rest were on guard with weapons, probably because they heard the commotion outside."

By the way, have you found the other exits of the nest?

Wolf's Mouth chimed in, "Three of them, but we blocked them all. Goblins were even trying to sneak out."

Bearskin frowned: "What about the troop deployment?"

Yuxin recalled for a moment and continued to describe the situation below in detail.

The four members of the Big Bear Adventure Team chatted amongst themselves, while Levitt, standing to the side, didn't seem to participate much and simply listened quietly.

He just wanted to broaden his horizons.

A few minutes later, they seemed to have found an optimal solution.

"Then let's use fire! You guys gather the monsters, and I'll unleash the Oil spell and Fire Arrow!" Yuxin said to Tuncha.

Just as Tuncha was about to nod, Xiongpi suddenly asked, "Are there any hostages inside?"

"Ah, I didn't see that. I didn't investigate that thoroughly," Yuxin replied.

"Then why have you been gone for so long?" Bearskin raised an eyebrow, his expression very serious.

"Alright, I'll go take another look. I'm familiar with the location now, so I'll be quick." Youxin smiled insincerely and turned to continue crawling into the hole.

"No need. I have a feeling there are indeed hostages inside. Let's abandon the fire attack." Bearskin waved his hand, and asked Swallow Tea to cast a shrinking spell on him.

Listening to their conversation, Levitt thought to himself:

There were indeed hostages in the cave, but Youxin didn't want to rescue them. Xiongpi saw this and gave him a way out.

Looking at Wolf's Mouth and Swallow Tea, it seems they've also figured this out.

However, their expressions were rather subtle, and it was hard to tell whether they were complaining about Youxin or thinking that the bearskin was unnecessary.

It's very simple; most of the time, saving other adventurers usually doesn't yield any rewards.

However, Levitt had to approve of the bearskin's actions, since he himself had been saved by bearskin.

"Bearskin and I will lead the way," Levitt broke the brief silence, and Bearskin, surprised, gave him a smile.

Afterwards, the giant wolf, reluctant to part with Youxin, was left outside the cave entrance, and the five of them entered the cave one by one.

After passing through a narrow, foul-smelling passage leading downwards, the five people arrived at a space that resembled an inverted giant bowl.

This is similar to what Youxin described.

The space expands from top to bottom, with a series of steps leading up to a dense network of caves, inside which are pairs of eyes that gleam with an eerie yellowish-green light.

Everyone gasped.

Yellow-green lights flickered in the darkness, some high up, some just above their heads, and some at their feet.

They didn't speak or move; they just quietly looked down at the intruders, like a flock of vultures waiting outside their cage.

Levitt felt a chill run down his spine.

Bearskin is ready for battle and takes the first step.

The shrinking spell made him half a head shorter than Levitt, and even with the greatsword replaced by a spare longsword, it still looked enormous in his hands.

He walked steadily, stepping on the edge of the steps, when the first goblin pounced out of the cave.

The distance from the cave entrance to the edge of the steps gave Bearskin enough time to react. Without even swinging his sword, he simply turned to the side and shoved the goblin. The poisonous green body somersaulted twice in the air before crashing onto the stone steps a dozen steps below, where it never got up again.

Then came the second and the third, who rushed out of the caves on both sides at the same time, attacking the bear skin from both the left and right.

The arrow from the wolf's mouth rang out, and Levitt and Youxin immediately darted out.

Behind them came the chanting of the incantation of Tun Cha, followed by a barrage of flaming arrows that illuminated the densely packed green livestock.

They fought their way from the middle of the steps all the way to the flat ground at the bottom. The shrinking magic of the bear skin dissipated without him realizing it. His enormous size made him less agile, but his strength increased dramatically, and his sword strikes became even more ruthless.

Such intense fighting left Levitt feeling exhausted, but fortunately these goblins were as cowardly as stereotyped.

After witnessing their kind being chopped up and laid out as a "carpet," they stopped emerging from the burrows from all directions.

"It's cleared!" Yuxin's voice came from behind.

The last standing goblin was pinned to the ground by a sword pierced by the bearskin.

The entire space fell silent, save for the crackling of the flames and the dying groans of the goblin.

Levitt, panting heavily, looked around.

The yellowish-green eyes in the cave disappeared—not that they ran away, but that they retreated into the darkness, too afraid to show themselves again.

Bearskin drew his greatsword and shook off the blood.

"Hey! Damn human! It's you!" A goblin wearing a bone helmet, larger and stronger than his kind, pointed at Levitt with a trembling voice. Realizing that he was now all alone, he was so frightened that he abandoned his armor and fled into the depths.

"Wolf's Mouth!" Bearskin called out, and together with Wolf's Mouth, they chased deeper into the area.

In Levitt's opinion, even ten Blood Burners wouldn't be a match for Bearskin, so it seems Bearskin really has no rivals.

"Find the hostage." Youxin stretched and started walking in one direction.

The bearskin didn't ask him to come along, and that was the reason.

"Can we call this a windfall?" Levitt asked Tuncha beside him, looking at the goblin corpses scattered on the ground.

"How is that possible?" Yu Xin chimed in, turning to reply, "With so many Goblin Left Ears, the Adventurers' Guild will definitely try every means to reduce your bonus."

"It's a lesson learned; sometimes you have to maintain a certain understanding with the Imperial government," Tuncha sighed. "In any case, in their eyes, the goblins have been wiped out."

Upon hearing this, Li Weite's face was full of helplessness.

Yu Xin led the two of them through a narrow passageway. Suddenly, Li Weite asked with a hint of regret, "Did Bearskin use a skill just now? Did he use the Supreme Slash?"

"Not only you, but we haven't seen him use it either. Maybe it's just not the right time for him to use it yet?" Tuncha replied, "Bear skin is very powerful, but it's still far from the time to use the Holy Slash."

"Yes, he's really powerful. Everyone has to listen to him," Youxin chimed in.

They walked and finally arrived at their destination, where they dealt with the goblins lying in ambush.

This place seemed to be like a sheepfold, with many people in bizarre poses lying on the dirty, sticky ground in various positions.

hostage?

Not just humans, but other animals as well.

They seem to be acting as pregnant women, or rather, "seedbeds".

"What are these things? This is awful!" Tuncha covered her mouth, feeling nauseous.

The man in front of her had a huge, wriggling abscess on his stomach. The abscess was somewhat translucent, and it seemed as if there was a curled-up child inside.

"Pfft—" Suddenly, the abscess on the man's stomach burst open, and what was inside burst out. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a goblin covered in blood and flesh fragments, roaring.

These densely packed pustules adhere to the body of every living thing here.

Each creature has at least one pustules, and the number increases with its size.

Levitt, gripping the wooden fence, frowned deeply. So this was the "reproduction" bestowed upon the Burning Blood Clan by the gods?

"Ah, Levitt?"

Suddenly, Levitt heard a familiar voice. He looked down and saw that it was Rose.

Rose lay on the ground in a pitiful state, her skin sallow, her face bluish, and a boil the size of an infant on her back.

Upon seeing Levitt, Rose bit her lower lip and cried as if she had seen a savior, "Did God send you, Levitt? Save me!"

"Rose, I'm so glad you're alright." Seeing this, Levitt let out a heavy sigh of relief, then suddenly stepped over the wooden fence and slapped Rose across the face.

"That 'I'm a useless idiot,' that was you who fucking said it!"

Levitt looked menacing.
