Dungeon Designer: Bringing Smiles to the World!

Chapter 29 Team Battle, it's almost time to fight the dungeon boss!

Inside the campfire cabin, Elisa, Joel, and Grace all looked in the same direction.

The battle between the Gluttonous Dragon and River was quite a spectacle, almost echoing throughout the entire Blighttown.

"We have to go help her; Rivers can't hold on by herself for long."

Grace looked anxious and tried to get up, but Joel pressed her down.

"You won't be of any help now, so you'd better rest and recharge," Joel said in a deep voice. "Besides, taking care of you is the responsibility Miss Rivers entrusted to us."

"No, I can do it..." Grace wanted to argue, but Joel still insisted.

There's only one last option left...

Grace made up her mind and no longer hesitated.

She suddenly reached out and pulled down the collar of her dress that had been covering her neck, revealing her fair skin.

"Hey! What are you doing?!"

Joel was horrified and immediately covered his eyes and turned away.

It's no wonder he moved so quickly; if he had been a few seconds slower and actually seen something, Elisa next to him would probably have already swung her staff at him.

Elisa, who had been concentrating on preparing a third-circle spell with her eyes closed, opened them after hearing the noise.

On Grace's neck, near her collarbone, two gill-like organs were opening and closing, indicating that she was breathing in the stale air of the sick village.

This is also a major characteristic that Grace inherited from her merman mother, which is why she always covers her neck with a high collar.

As her organs opened and closed, a steady stream of stale air was drawn in, and a look of pain appeared on Grace's face.

"Grace, what are you doing..." Elisa asked with concern.

"I, cough cough cough..."

Although her expression was pained, Grace's face, which had become extremely pale due to the release of [Tears of Farewell], was quickly regaining its color: "I'm absorbing moisture from the air to replenish my energy."

This required immense courage for Grace, who was now frantically inhaling the incredibly polluted air of the disease village, each breath an excruciating torment.

Undoubtedly, while this method can replenish energy in a short time, it will also harm Grace's body.

"You..." Elisa wanted to say something more, but after seeing Grace's determined look, she swallowed the words that were on the tip of her tongue.

Although they didn't spend a long time together, Grace's growth was clearly visible.

Now she is fully capable of standing on her own and is willing to make sacrifices for the team.

Grace Ashford is undoubtedly a qualified priestess and an excellent adventurer.

……

The battle between the Gluttonous Dragon and the Shadow Assassin continued, turning half of the Blighttown upside down.

Watching Rivers dart about on screen, seemingly unharmed by any of the Gluttonous Dragon's attacks, Horak, the Plague Apostle, gave his assessment.

"This Shadow Assassin is definitely not just mid-level, he's probably high-level, and he's just one step away from becoming a master assassin."

Hearing Horak's assessment of the opponent's strength, Roger was somewhat surprised.

The Assassin Master is the advanced class of the Shadow Assassin, and also the pinnacle of the basic Assassin class.

"But there's no need to worry, the Gluttonous Dragon is invincible!"

Horak was very confident in his and Rogge's joint creation. Unless the opponent was a combination of a high-ranking paladin and a high-ranking priest of light, it would be impossible to damage the undead dragon skeleton inside the Gluttonous Dragon.

"No." But Rogge poured cold water on the idea at this moment: "We can't let the Gluttonous Dragon completely crush these adventurers."

"Oh? You mean?" Horak immediately guessed Rogge's plan.

Roger countered, "Do you even know what fishing is?"

"I just live a long time, not that I'm lying in a coffin the whole time."

"Predatory fish won't bite motionless bait; in their eyes, it's worthless trash. Only moving bait will attract them. The same principle applies to the relationship between dungeons and adventurers."

Rather than an invincible dragon, a monster that can be severely injured by a determined effort and seems easily defeated is more attractive to adventurers.

"Hehe, I like this theory."

Holak grinned, making a terrifying, half-smiling expression.

"So, the task of fixing the match, cough cough, letting the Gluttonous Dragon win by a narrow margin, is up to you?"

"Don't worry, I know this place well. Before I became the lord of the underground city, I was quite famous in the Underground Demon City's Undead Arena."

Rogge didn't ask why being famous in the Undead Arena was related to his knowledge of match-fixing...

……

"Phew...finally finished."

For Elisa, a low-level mage, casting a third-circle spell was not impossible, but it required a long preparation time to channel the magic in the surrounding environment to herself and her staff.

Furthermore, this magic is not so easy to control; once the spell is successfully cast, Elisa's Radiant Stone Staff will be directly damaged.

"I wonder if third-circle spells will actually work on dragons..." Even though she considered herself a genius, Elisa was still unsure as she felt the immense magical power gathering on her staff.

"Who cares? Getting to fight a dragon is already a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. If we can take it down, we're sure to make a fortune!"

Motivated by the money, Elisa suddenly regained her confidence.

Beside her, the cheek-like organ on Grace's neck stopped opening and closing, clearly indicating that she had replenished enough energy.

However, in stark contrast to her rosy cheeks was Grace's nauseating expression, as if she wanted to vomit.

Several minutes passed before Grace recovered and covered her neck with her collar again.

"Set off!"

The three were in high spirits and quickly headed to the battlefield.

To their surprise, they did not encounter any deformed monsters blocking their way.

"Huh? Where are those monsters? Where did they all hide?" Grace asked, puzzled.

"Didn't Patch say that the Gluttonous Dragon's feeding range is the entire Blighttown? The other monsters must be afraid of being eaten, so they've all hidden away," Elisa said casually.

Joel didn't care about any of that: "As long as it's good for us."

Unbeknownst to them, this was actually the result of a joint manipulation by Rogge and Horak.

Otherwise, if the three of them die before even seeing the Gluttonous Dragon, how can they possibly fish?

Soon, the three arrived at the battlefield. Under the illumination of the [Dim Light] spell, they could barely make out the terrifying appearance of the Gluttonous Dragon.

"This guy is actually a descendant of the ancient dragon?" The group was somewhat incredulous.

The Gluttonous Dragon was vastly different from the majestic Ancient Dragon they had encountered during the storyline. Apart from both having four wings, they had almost no similarities and were not even the same species.

Just as the group was in surprise, Rivera dodged the gluttonous dragon's claw attack once again and landed right next to the three of them.

The four-person team reunited, picked up their weapons, and began their challenge against the Gluttonous Dragon.
