Shulong Daojun

Chapter 45 Birth

After the incense business was established, Lin Shu lit several sticks of incense and instructed Qi Yannian and the other two county gods, as well as a group of green-robed local deities, to stop collecting the five turbidities and focus on handling the people's prayers.

He also found a magic array and used his divine position to go to the place where the earth veins of Qingwu City were congested, dissolving most of the turbid and foul air there and making it almost balanced with the pure air in the veins.

Only then was he satisfied and finished.

After the matter was completed, Lin Shu rewarded the meritorious officials, commended the most helpful gods, bestowed upon them a hundred strands of pure incense, offered a few words of encouragement, and then went into seclusion.

The status of a human immortal is attained after the formation of the Dao embryo.

Therefore, the next step of cultivation also revolves around this.

The Dao Embryo is initially formed in the Dantian of the body, resembling a chaotic chicken egg containing spiritual energy. It needs to be condensed step by step by breathing in spiritual energy.

Once the Dao embryo is stable, the immortals living in the world will naturally be formed.

However, the practice of stabilizing breathing is the most time-consuming and the longest, often taking up decades of a cultivator's life.

Fortunately, Lin Shu has always been quite talented in the path of cultivation, and his cultivation speed far exceeds that of ordinary people.

He introspected and found that the Dao embryo in his dantian was being nourished by the three elements and was growing stronger and more stable at a visible speed.

One is the true qi that springs forth from the mysterious aperture, flowing endlessly like a river.

The other two are the assistance from refining pure incense himself and the boost from Qingmin's improved cultivation.

Although it is not as magnificent as the Mysterious Aperture, it still has a sense of the long, meandering stream, which is quite nice.

"Having entered the Longevity Immortal realm for a little over a month, I have already been breathing like an ordinary person for several years, and my Dao embryo is nearly half-stable. It has truly been worth all my efforts."

Lin Shu checked his dantian again, nodded, and laughed heartily, "Who else but me is the pride of the Daoist sect?"

After saying that, he closed his eyes and concentrated, refining another wisp of pure incense to enhance his cultivation.

Those who cultivate the Tao often accompany themselves with arduous practice, and it is common for them to go into seclusion for ten or eight years. They must not become arrogant just because they are ahead of others, but must continue to work hard.

He immediately plunged into seclusion and cultivation.

Only when there were only a hundred wisps of pure incense left in his hand did he exhale and slowly open his eyes.

At the same time, Lin Shu frowned slightly, realizing something: incense offerings are good, but ultimately limited, and they can also make cultivators dependent on them, making their relationship with heaven and earth more and more complicated.

For cultivators who base their practice on the divine way and aspire to use it as their own path, this is certainly a good thing.

If one can align with heaven and earth, one's own authority will also increase, and the power of heaven and earth that one can borrow will become stronger, thus making one even stronger.

However, for him, it was a bad thing.

This is because he merely used the divine path as a stepping stone to skip the arduous cultivation and pursue the path of immortality.

Taking "Tao" as the guiding principle and cultivating both the paths of gods and immortals is the way to seek the Great Tao.

"Very well, from now on, we can refine the pure incense we obtain as appropriate."

With the system of performance evaluation and reward based on merit, the supervisor Qingmin diligently performed his duties, and the rewards and rewards were used on himself.

It achieves multiple goals at once, so it's not a bad deal.

After a moment's thought, Lin Shu made his own arrangements for the incense offerings.

He then moved the hundred strands of pure incense to the depths of the altar for future use, and with a thought, used the earth's veins to teleport to the "Dragon's Nest".

After several days of secluded cultivation, the gestation speed of the turbid dragon embryo did not slow down.

The dark red remnant veins had transformed into a thin, membrane-like skin, tightly enveloping the dragon seed in the womb.

Yet it is extremely resilient, not restricting the fetal movement of the dragon, but rather stretching out with its movements.

At the same time, the appearance of the dragon in the womb is already clearly visible, and its power is beginning to show.

Even though it is located deep within the earth's veins, it has already silently influenced all directions.

Within a radius of several miles, snakes, insects, ants, and rats fled in droves, birds circled around and dared not land, and even the roots of the paulownia tree began to turn yellow and wither.

Fortunately, this place is secluded and hidden by divine power, so Lin Shu is not afraid of being discovered.

With a thought, he guided the incense offerings toward the turbid dragon fetus, and smiled faintly: "Little one, eat up, eat up. Only when you're full will you grow strong and have vitality when you're born."

Having said that, he used his divine power to expand the space here to several square units in size.

Then he summoned soil and the roots of the paulownia tree, which coalesced into a square chair, and sat down directly on it.

The dragon seed in the womb will be born soon, and Lin Shu plans to stay by its side for the time being, just as he waited for Qing Min to be born, to patiently await the birth of the turbid dragon.

Immediately afterward, as if remembering something, he casually lit a stick of incense and sent a message to the local earth god: "The God of Manifestation is on official business. If there are any unusual movements, do not panic or disturb him."

Having finished, Lin Shushu raised her hand, and the mud-root chair instantly transformed into a recliner. She then lay comfortably on it, quietly observing the turbid dragon fetus.

Times change, and the purpose of cultivating the Tao is to do as one pleases without overstepping the bounds; one should do whatever feels comfortable.

At the hour of Mao (5-7 AM), when the sun rises and the moon sets, yin and yang are in balance, the turbid dragon's refining efficiency is at its highest; this is the first feeding.

At the hour of You (5-7 PM), Yang energy diminishes and Yin energy increases, making it the best time for the turbid dragon to eat; this is the second feeding.

The fish was fed twice a day, morning and evening. About seven or eight days later, at midnight when Yin reaches its extreme and Yang begins to rise, the fetus underwent a strange change.

A dark red claw suddenly ripped open the amniotic sac, and a streak of blood-red, menacing light spilled out.

Then, its second claw emerged, gripped the amniotic sac, and pulled it open, revealing a pair of dark golden vertical pupils.

Its vertical pupils darted around, curiously gazing at its surroundings.

Upon seeing Lin Shu's figure, his gaze settled, and a hint of joy appeared on his face.

It then swallowed the amniotic sac in one gulp, and its body, covered with dark red patterns and rough, jagged scales, suddenly appeared.

The tail is exceptionally thick and has a barbed tip.

Lin Shu glanced at him and knew he was no ordinary person.

Unlike the Qingmin, it has four toes spread apart, a robust body, and a large bulge on its forehead, making it resemble a small horn.

It was clearly a four-clawed, turbid dragon.

Although it has not yet transformed into a dragon, it already has eight parts of a dragon's appearance.

The little turbid dragon poked its head out, a look of affection appearing in its eyes. Then it began to absorb the turbid energy of the surrounding earth veins on its own, and a fierce aura emanated from its black and red scales.

At this moment, Lin Shu withdrew his gaze and said calmly, "Would you be willing to become my Dharma companion and leave this place with me?"

The little turbid dragon stopped its swallowing motion abruptly, its eyes gleaming with joy. With a flick of its tail, it darted out and swam to Lin Shu's body.

Just as it was about to perch on the shoulder, it seemed to sense something, and its dragon eyes suddenly became displeased. It then retracted its claws, climbed onto the top of the head, and curled up inside.

Lin Shu suddenly felt his head sink, shook his head and chuckled, and said nothing more.

He then looked around, flicked his sleeve, and soil poured in. With another burst of magic, all traces vanished.

Now that the turbid dragon has been conceived, there is no need to stay here any longer.

Once everything was restored to its original state, he quietly left and returned to the rear hall of the main temple.

After obtaining the turbid dragon as his Dharma companion, and with the connection between the dragon's scales and the dragon's energy, the Dao embryo in his dantian received further nourishment.

After a brief assessment, he smiled and said, "That's right. In this way, although it is much slower than refining pure incense before, it is not much inferior."

This little guy is a great help.

At this point, Lin Shu suddenly remembered a name and said, "From now on, I will call you Zhuyin."

I hope that one day you will truly become the embodiment of the Tao.

Zhuyin seemed quite pleased with the name and responded with a long chant.
