Chapter 86 Sacrifice with Blood
Chapter 86 A Blood Sacrifice (5/5)
Hextech looked at the group of people dressed in black mourning clothes and felt that their gazes were particularly strange, but he didn't think much of it; these people were just NPCs.
He had already seen Andre Edria's photo, and walked straight up to him and began to speak.
"I'm here, but something unexpected happened, so I'm late."
On his way there, he was worried that the funeral and memorial service would be over, and that he would be all alone at the cemetery, making a fool of himself.
Fortunately, the group seemed to be arguing with Anred, and the ceremony was not yet over.
Andreid Adelia strode forward, took his hand, and said in a complicated and enigmatic tone, "Hex, come with me to pay respects to your brother."
"Wait!" A sharp, sarcastic voice suddenly rang out.
The one who spoke was the old man's sister, and also his most sarcastic aunt. She glanced at Hex with disdain: "This is your illegitimate son?"
"I couldn't even attend my elder brother's final memorial service, and I wasn't even addressed as 'father'!"
"Disrespectful to elders!"
"He's just a boorish country bumpkin!"
"I don't think he's qualified to inherit Karls's theological seminary recommendation!"
Upon hearing this, the surrounding members of the Adriatic family immediately chimed in with their own opinions.
"That's right! His clothes were disheveled, he looked like he'd rolled in mud!"
"Anred, you must find out for sure whether he is truly Adriana's bloodline!"
"He doesn't look like you at all!"
Hex frowned slightly. He had thought that the United Front had already arranged everything properly and that the Adriatic family were all under his control. But the situation before him was completely different from what he had expected.
He glanced at Mary Edria, who was staring at him with eyes full of hatred.
Hex thought to himself, "This United Front is so unreliable."
Seeing the group of aggressive and menacing clansmen before him, Hex instantly lost his patience and shouted sharply, "Shut up!"
A furious shout, like a thunderclap, spread outwards with a powerful shockwave, instantly silencing the more than one hundred people present, who all froze in place.
Especially the aunt who had been so harsh earlier, facing Hextech's oppressive aura, felt as if the person standing in front of her was not human, but a ferocious beast with boundless killing intent. Her face turned pale, her whole body trembled, and she couldn't utter a single word.
At this moment, an elderly man with white hair and beard slowly spoke, his gaze sweeping over Hextech with a deep intensity: "You are Hextech?"
"He's quite different from the cowardly and incompetent illegitimate son I had in mind."
"He has a bit of the sharpness of a soldier."
Andre quickly whispered a reminder to Hex: "This is my father."
"Your grandfather, Kelwyn."
Kelwyn's gaze was cold and sharp: "The Adelia family does not accept illegitimate children born out of wedlock."
"With your background, you will never understand the glory of your family, the blood we shed for the House of Windsor, or the lives we gave to fight against heretics in hell."
"You are nothing but the bastard child he left behind because he couldn't control his own desires."
"If you want to inherit your brother's legacy and gain admission to seminary, you must prove yourself!"
"Prove that you are worthy of Adriana's glory and can become a true warrior."
"Brother!" The mean-spirited aunt turned around, her face full of confusion. "You're going to give him a chance?"
"It's not about giving him a chance, it's about giving all candidates a fair chance," Kyle Wright said coldly.
"Let's see who is worthy to inherit Karl's legacy."
"Hextech, are you willing to accept it?"
"Barrot, Karen, where are you two?"
He turned to look at the two eager young members of the family standing to the side.
The two exchanged a glance, their eyes gleaming with secret delight: "Of course we'd love to!"
In their view, a powerless and illegitimate child from the countryside was nothing to fear.
The entire Adriatic family was on their side, and even Anred's wife, Mary, harbored deep hatred for Hex. With a little manipulation, they were guaranteed to win this test.
"An assessment is unnecessary," Hex suddenly waved his hand.
Kyle Wright frowned, her face full of disdain: "Are you giving up?"
"I never give up, but there's no need to waste time," Hex said.
"As for qualifications, I think no one is more qualified than me to inherit the recommendation quota."
As soon as he finished speaking, he kicked the huge box next to his feet in front of Kellright, and the box lid opened.
A huge, hideous, blood-stained monster head rolled out, and the pungent smell of blood instantly filled the air.
"Ah!!" The faces of the Edria family members changed drastically.
In an instant, the members of the Adriatic family panicked and scrambled backward, even Kellright's pupils contracted sharply.
"Celtic werewolf, a level three monster!"
When he was young and participated in the Crimean War, he and his comrades killed two werewolves.
The two werewolves broke into their formation and killed more than twenty soldiers before being shot down.
That powerful physique and ferocious claws left a deep impression on Kyle Wright.
Kyle Wright, a man of experience, didn't back down. He simply looked at Hextech with a puzzled expression: "Where did this head come from?"
"You asked me to prove my qualifications, and I have done so," Hex said.
"This Celtic werewolf was the mastermind behind the infestation of Moremod village and the death of Karls. I personally ripped its head off. Tell me, am I qualified?"
"Impossible!" the mean-spirited aunt screamed instantly, her expression frantic.
"That's absolutely impossible!"
"That's a level three monster! Even the Crusaders would need a tactical squad to take it down. How could you possibly manage that!"
Hex gave her a cold glance, his icy gaze instantly choking her, leaving her speechless.
"Do I need to prove it again?" Hex called out as he turned toward the carriage.
"Newt, bring the spoils over."
Following behind Hex, the young priest Newt, filled with reverence, quickly opened the trunk of the truck.
With a "whoosh," dozens of Celtic werewolf heads rolled off in unison, and a strong, pungent stench filled the air.
The two family members who were about to participate in the assessment immediately covered their mouths and vomited violently while hugging the tombstone next to them.
The ferocious wolf head and sharp fangs all prove that these are genuine monster heads, not forgeries.
Facts speak louder than words.
Hextech didn't say anything more, but simply took a slow step forward.
More than a hundred members of the Adriatic family fell backward one after another as if they had seen a demon, scrambling and scattering in all directions, none daring to meet his gaze.
Hex chuckled softly, walked straight to Karl Adrià's tombstone, picked up a bouquet of flowers, and gently placed it on the monument.
Looking at the name on the tombstone, he said calmly, "I have avenged you."
"Before these monsters died, I made them suffer ten times more than you did when you passed away."
"In the future, I will take your place at Oxford Theological Seminary."
Rest in peace.
He turned to look at the group of people, including Adelia, who were already terrified and speechless, and said indifferently, "Now, who still thinks I'm not qualified to inherit Karls's admission?"
"The funeral service is now over. You may go back home."
"Don't worry, I'll be leaving Newcastle in three days."
"For the rest of your lives, until you pass away, you will never meet me again."
"I have no interest in fighting you for power and profit," Hex warned.
He didn't want these stupid relatives of Adriana to bother him; he was just going to stay there for three days and then head to London.
He will never return to Newcastle, nor will he have any further dealings with the Adelia family.
The entire Adelia family remained silent, their faces pale as they stared at Hex, who resembled a demon god.
They had their doubts and wanted to accuse it all of being a hoax, saying that the werewolf heads were props, fakes, or bought from the black market.
But anyone with a normal IQ knows that even if Anred wanted to support this bastard, he couldn't possibly command the Crusaders to do such a thing for him.
Without the Crusades, wiping out these Celtic werewolves would require a regiment of regular troops and would result in heavy casualties, something Andreid was not qualified to do.
What puzzled them even more was that Hextech was capable of single-handedly slaying so many level-three monsters, so why was he vying for admission to Oxford Theological Seminary? Wouldn't it have been more promising to join the Crusades directly?
The mean-spirited aunt was about to say something more when Kyle Wright waved her hand to interrupt her.
The old man looked at Hex, his eyes filled with an inscrutable mix of joy and sorrow, which finally settled into a look of melancholy. He said in a deep voice, "Have you forgotten Adelia's family precepts?"
"Debts must be repaid—" He took a deep breath and swallowed the rest of the sentence.
"Go back, everyone. Karls's admission is over."
"It should rightfully be inherited by Hextech."
