The Bizarre Adventure of the Warhammer Guard
Chapter 19 The Mechanical Sage and the Arrangement
Leon and Ada arrived at the marked location, and a guard led them to a secret location.
Upon arriving at the location, Lyon saw an Astartes, not as tall as the guards beside him, but much taller than an ordinary person. A man about two and a half meters tall, draped in a black robe, with most of his body covered in machinery, his hands modified into mechanical arms, and two more mechanical arms attached to his back.
Mechanic priests—Leon had heard of this term before. At the Loyal Academy, his instructors had described them as technicians from Mars who firmly believed in the great god of machines.
Lyon's first impression was that the researchers were superstitious.
Just as Leon and Ada were observing the strange tech priest, he also noticed the two arriving. He gracefully walked up to them using his modified legs.
"Two mortals, how strange. Why would Lord Elpis allow two mortals to join his great expedition?" The prosthetic eye on the Tech Priest's face kept moving, and a calm, synthesized mechanical voice came out, "However, the Lord has his reasons."
"My name is Doraemon, a mechanical sage," the Tech Priest continued. "Mortals, do you know the holy Ohm Messiah? He is the ultimate embodiment of knowledge and reason, the omnipotent god of all machines. Hear His holy words..."
"Alright, Sage." Elpis arrived at the meeting point and interrupted the Sage of Orm's preaching. He then said to the Astartes not far away, "Come on, Loken, take a look at the mortal I've found for you."
Doraemon, a mechanical sage, or more precisely, a mechanical sage rejected by the Martian Mechanicus, is a believer in the God of Machines, but he enjoys innovation and technological modification and often comes up with some novel gadgets.
After the Emperor conquered Mars, he became convinced that the Emperor was the omnipotent god of machines, the incarnation of Om Messiah on Earth. Furthermore, he did everything the Mechanicus permitted, and also did things they forbade. Therefore, he was isolated by all factions on Mars.
Even more coincidentally, he had met Elpis earlier when he accompanied the Emperor on the negotiations for Mars, and at that time, he was preaching to Elpis.
So when Elpis asked Waldo for technicians, Waldo contacted this unconventional mechanical sage. Doraemon readily agreed, stating that he had been waiting and claiming that he had been enlightened and that it was all the work of the God of Machines.
"My lord," Loken greeted Elpis, then looked at Leon in front of him. "A very good prospect, strong and determined, but a bit too old."
"It's alright." Elpis then glanced at Sage Orm. "Sage, come and show us some of your latest achievements."
"Yes, sir," a mechanical arm on Sage Om held a data panel and displayed it to everyone in a holographic projection. "Based on the experimental data you provided and the research on the 'Progenitor Virus,' I have successfully developed a new type of mortal enhancement drug."
"At the same time, by adding modified viruses, the activity of the subjects' cells in Space Marine modification surgery can be greatly improved, thereby significantly reducing the failure rate and mortality rate of the surgery. Moreover, a certain amount of modified viruses can be added according to the compatibility between the subjects and the viruses, so that the modification surgery can be customized, making them no longer limited by age and their potential will not be limited."
"Furthermore, I'm conducting a new study, which will take some time," Om continued. "Sir, the fragmented STC template you provided should be a treatment agent. If it were the complete version, the resulting agent would have excellent therapeutic effects. The fragmented version produces almost no effective agents. However, if combined with a virus, it's estimated that it could potentially create an agent with similar therapeutic effects."
"Very good, make a copy of the technical details for me." Elpis nodded and looked at Diocletian, the Imperial Guard who was leading Lyon and Ada. "Diocletian, give the copied details to Waldo later. The Marshal will handle these technologies."
"Alright, I'll hand it over to the Marshal in a bit. Also, would you like to join your expedition team?" Dirk asked first.
"Yes, I need your help."
Dirk was silent for a moment before nodding, and after receiving the technical data, he turned and left.
"Leon, this is Company Commander Loken, who will also be your mentor from now on." Elpis introduced Leon and Loken to each other. "Loken, this is Leon. I hope you can train him to be an excellent Shadowmoon Wolf."
"Yes, sir, I will not fail you." Loken pounded his chest with his right hand and looked at Leon beside him. "Recruit, come with me. Sage Orm, I still need your help."
After saying that, Loken and Sage Orm prepared for the Space Marine modification surgery, and Leon followed them.
"Ada, I mentioned before that you have a talent," Elpis said, glancing at the remaining people. "Do you know about the Untouchables?"
"Yes, sir," Ada nodded. Her studies at Loyal Fate Academy had taught her a lot. "Am I an Untouchable? But shouldn't Untouchables be disliked by those around them? I haven't noticed that."
"So, your situation is quite special," Elpis beckoned Ada to follow him. "Ordinary untouchables not only disgust those around them, but also create a psionic suppression aura within several meters of them. But your psionic suppression aura can only circulate within your body."
"I will take you to the Silent Sisters for training to see if you can channel the power of suppression within you. If you can channel it into a weapon, it will have a surprising effect."
After saying this, Elpis led Ida to the quarters of the Silent Sisters in the palace and entrusted her to their care.
Elpis then arrived at the operational base that Waldo had assigned to him for the expedition. It was currently undergoing renovations, with basic research, training, and rest facilities already completed. If the plan mentioned by the Sage of Om succeeded, an STC production line would also need to be built here.
Next, Elpis communicated with the Spear of the Moon, channeling the energy within his body. At this moment, Elpis referred to the energy within him that could power the Spear of the Moon as the Power of the Moon. Through this journey, his Power of the Moon had been greatly enhanced, allowing him to bring more equipment and personnel on his next journey.
Meanwhile, he returned to the strange space he had entered during his time travel, which Elpis called the Luna Space. The silver-white thread connecting the Resident Evil world was emitting a blinding light. Elpis focused his consciousness and discovered that he could "pull" this thread. With each pull he made, the sphere representing the Resident Evil world moved one step closer to his own sphere.
Elpis estimated that it would take decades for him to pull the sphere into his own universe, and he didn't know what would happen then.
Elpis now senses that he can travel through time, but he hasn't found any threads that resonate with him, and he also needs to pull closer to the sphere represented by the Resident Evil world.
It's best not to travel through time now; wait until the two spheres merge before making any plans.
