Three days later, a fleet arrived in planetary orbit above Mar-Sala, led by General Duke's flagship—the behemoth-class strategic cruiser Norard II.

It was a flagship about 700 meters long, with turrets of varying sizes covering its entire body, and the thruster array at the stern emitting a ghostly blue beam of light in space.

Surrounding the flagship were three Leviathan-class strategic ships, each approximately 500 meters long, which served as escorts for the Norard II.

Three transport planes took off from Norard II and headed to Mar-Sala's Deadwater base. They were ordered by General Duke to apprehend local sheriff Jim Reynolds and his militia for violating federal law.

Although the Marines sent to apprehend the criminal had some questions, they wondered why, on a planet invaded by Zerg, they weren't helping to defend against the alien invasion, but instead were arresting a sheriff accused of sabotaging important federal facilities.

But as soldiers at the bottom of the federal hierarchy, they had no right to question a general's orders; they could only obey orders and carry them out.

The transport plane quickly entered Mar-Sala's atmosphere, flew rapidly, and arrived above the Deadwater Base.

The Deadwater Base was now vastly different from what it used to be. All passageways connecting it to the outside world were blocked by steel walls; the only entrance and exit was the existing vehicle access road in the northern part of the base.

Automatic machine guns and other heavy artillery were deployed on the city walls, and their placement was calculated by Elpis to be the most efficient and effective strategic arrangement for killing the insect swarm.

The outer surface of the city wall has undergone special modifications, with a thin layer of light green steel plate covering it. This is a newly developed corrosion-resistant steel.

The appearance of these materials was certainly not due to the powerful scientific research capabilities within the Deadwater Base, but rather because of Elpis.

Upon discovering the large amount of silicon ore stored inside the base, Elpis immediately realized the mineral's remarkable properties: it could be transformed into other substances.

Through technological means, silicon ore can be transformed into raw materials such as iron ore and rare earth elements, or directly into finished products such as steel and glass.

After referencing some silicon ore conversion processes, Elpis conducted research and directly manufactured corrosion-resistant steel at the Deadwater Base's engineering station.

Over the next three days, the Deadwater Base was attacked by Zerg several times, but their numbers were noticeably decreasing, and eventually they only sent out Jumping Zerg to attack.

According to reports from various colonies on the planet, several colonies have been attacked by the Zerg, and the intensity of these attacks is increasing over time.

This morning, before General Duke's fleet had even reached planetary orbit, one colony lost all contact. The news sent shockwaves through the other colonies, throwing the people of the remaining colonies into disarray.

After informing everyone of this, Rugal secretly made up his mind and sent a reply.

General Duke's transport plane slowly docked at the Deadwater base's landing platform, and fifteen Marines disembarked. Commander Rugal walked towards the lead soldier.

Then, Renault and his men approached the group, none of them wearing power armor. "I need an explanation, Commander," the soldier continued, "why the prisoner isn't handcuffed."

"Listen to me, sir." Rugal took a step forward and came to the soldier's side.

Before he finished speaking, Rugal punched the unsuspecting leader to the ground, then drew his sidearm and pointed it at him. Rugal's men, along with Reno's militia, then surrounded General Duke's troops.

"This is a trap!" the lead warrior shouted, hoping someone could relay a message to the general on the ship, "Ma Sara has completely betrayed us!"

Unfortunately, the soldier's wish was to be dashed. Elpis stepped out from the crowd and stood in the middle of them, as if conducting a final judgment.

The machine spirit within his armor is intercepting information signals destined for the ship, preventing the transmission of communication signals.
