The Ultimate Fire Master of Avatar
Chapter 180 After the War, Chapter Departure
Chapter 180 After the War, Back Home
The operation was successfully completed, and everyone was happy.
Kahn and An'ang killed the Fire King Aozai. Taking advantage of the solar eclipse, the troops outside successfully captured the capital of the Fire Kingdom. Zuko appeared and announced that he had inherited the position of Fire King and become the new Fire King, and issued a ceasefire order.
News of Ao Zai's death, Zu Kou's succession, and the truce quickly reached the front lines, bringing the century-long war to a perfect end.
Zu Kou had just ascended to the throne, and to prevent any unforeseen events, everyone temporarily remained in the Fire Blaze Kingdom's palace. Upon hearing the news, Ai Luo, who was far away on the front lines of the Earth Power Kingdom, happily returned to the Fire Blaze Kingdom to reunite with everyone.
There may still be many problems to deal with later, but for now, they can still relax for a while with pride and joy.
Because they really did it, they ended the war!
However, although it all seemed so wonderful to outsiders, something to cheer about, sing and dance for, and celebrate wildly, within the Superpower Squad, and among Kahn and An'ang's companions, there were still some problems that needed to be solved.
Kahn and Anson are currently in a cold war, which has continued to this day.
No one knew what had happened inside the palace. They only knew that Ao Zai was dead, and that his death was rather tragic, but they didn't know what had actually happened during that time.
Anang seemed to hold a grudge about it and was unwilling to talk about what happened that day, so everyone gathered around Kahn and listened to him recount what had happened.
Unlike An Ang, since Ao Zai's death, Kahn has been like a bird that has finally escaped its cage and spread its wings to fly, relaxed and carefree, and quite unrestrained.
Throughout his narration, his tone remained light and calm, as he spoke fluently and confidently:
"That's how it ends."
After hearing the whole story, everyone was both enlightened and deeply moved. Just then, Mei suddenly exclaimed:
"No wonder you and Azura became a couple."
"Hahahahaha!" ×n
Everyone couldn't help but laugh upon hearing this; the topic of Kahn and Azura could provide them with endless entertainment for a lifetime.
Kahn looked embarrassed and was speechless.
After the laughter subsided, Tofu asked, puzzled:
"Actually, I really don't understand why An Ang is so reluctant to kill Ao Zai?"
"He's probably trying to find a more perfect solution."
Katara tried to defend Anang, but in reality, she didn't quite understand it herself, and her words couldn't even convince herself.
"I think he's just too naive. He has no idea how cruel Aozai is."
Soka said dismissively that he was a member of the faction that wholeheartedly supported killing Aozai.
"Actually, I can understand his idea of 'not killing'."
Surprisingly, Kahn, who was in fact on the opposite side of Aon, took the initiative to explain for Aon.
Kahn said:
"I don't know if you've ever heard this saying: 'There are only two kinds of murders: zero times or countless times.'"
"Given An Ang's current strength, killing someone is as easy for him as breathing. But that's precisely why he believes he shouldn't kill people indiscriminately, and should even try to avoid killing as much as possible."
Upon hearing this, everyone seemed to be deep in thought. Katara then said:
"You mean An Ang is afraid that once he's opened the floodgates of killing, he'll rely on killing as a way to solve problems?"
Kahn smiled and nodded, jokingly saying:
"Humans are inherently lazy, and killing is undoubtedly a shortcut to solving problems. After all, as the saying goes, 'If you can't solve the problem, solve the person who raised it.'"
"Where did this saying come from? It's terrifying."
Terri couldn't help but shudder. "And this doesn't solve the problem at all, does it?"
Kahn laughed:
"Of course. So I think An Ang probably considered these factors when he chose not to kill."
"Okay, I think I should take back that naive assessment."
Soka scratched his cheek.
"But I have a question."
Mei asked:
"Can't someone as heinous as Ao Zai be killed? And even if he doesn't kill him, why are you stopping you from killing Ao Zai?"
"I don't know about that."
Kahn shrugged and said:
"I guess he probably didn't want me to solve the problem by killing, or maybe he was just being stubborn, but whatever the case, this is how it ended."
"And what about you?"
Zu Kou asked:
"I share An Ang's confusion: why did you insist on killing him with your own hands?"
In fact, when he learned of Aozai's death, his feelings were very complicated. Although he also supported killing Aozai, no matter how hateful Aozai was, it could not change the fact that they were father and son.
Kahn glanced at Zuko and smiled:
"To fulfill my obsession... You probably can't understand why I'm saying this."
"Fine, since you all know my biggest secret, there's nothing else to hide. I'll tell you about my experiences in detail, or rather, about the grudges between me and Ao Zai."
This time, Kahn begins by recounting how he met Elo, got to know Zuko and Azura, became good friends with them, and learned the secret of Aozai.
The story recounts how they began searching for Er Shu's whereabouts, discovered clues hidden in the tunnels, and eventually found Er Shu;
He got caught up in the struggle between Ao Zai and Ai Luo. Because of Ai Luo's identity as a disciple, Ao Zai took a liking to him and he was ultimately forced to feign compliance.
The story revolves around how Ao-zai, in order to force him to break with Ai-luo, sent him to purge Ai-luo's old followers, and how he navigated between the two.
They put in so much effort to deal with Aozai, trying every possible way to gather strength, but Aozai died at Azura's hands at the last moment.
After briefly reviewing his experiences over the past few years, not only others but even Kahn himself was quite moved, realizing how difficult it had truly been!
After hearing Kahn's story, everyone gained a clearer understanding of Aozai's cruelty and treachery, and also understood why Kahn was so obsessed with killing Aozai.
Katara suddenly said:
"So, in other words, you and An Ang were actually having a falling out back then, right?"
"Anang was frustrated because he couldn't find a better solution, and in desperation, he imposed his naive ideas on you, which is why he wanted to stop you; while you were frustrated because Azura's actions had made all your efforts go to waste, and you didn't get rid of Aozai yourself, so you transferred your frustration and anger to Aozai here."
"That's what led to the conflict between you and An Ang."
"!"
Everyone stared at her in shock, making Katara somewhat awkward as she said:
"What's wrong? Is there a problem?"
Tuofu exclaimed in surprise:
"I just feel like these aren't words you would say."
Soka couldn't help but ask:
"Where's my sister? Where did you hide her?"
"What do you mean?! Are you looking down on me?!"
Katara was furious and started fighting with the two of them.
Kahn, however, fell into deep thought because of Katara's words, and finally smiled with relief:
"You're right, maybe I really am being stubborn, but if I had to choose again, I would still do the same thing."
"So I can only apologize to An Ang."
Whether it was out of hatred, righteousness, or just a grudge, at least at that moment, his desire to kill Aozai himself was genuine, and that was enough.
Kahn laughed:
"In any case, now that it's over, then—"
"I should go back now."
"Huh?" ×n
