Magical Girl Fan Bingbing
Chapter 11 Cold Junior's move was too ruthless
Jiang Ran stopped after flying only a short distance, and the RV was parked beside a quiet national highway.
When it was placed on the ground, the RV shook a few times, and the chassis made a dull, unpleasant metallic sound.
"It's been too long since I've played, I'm a bit rusty."
When I went inside, I saw that the bumpy ride had caused all the items in the car to be scattered and overturned. The bag of potato chips had rolled into the aisle, and the cushions on the sofa were all over the floor.
Leng Qiaoqiao, who was still unconscious, fared even worse. She rolled off the sofa onto the car floor, lying face down in a very unseemly position.
"You didn't hit your head, did you?"
Jiang Ran quickly stepped forward and turned Leng Qiaoqiao over to check her. Seeing that there were no marks on her face, she breathed a sigh of relief.
She picked Leng Qiaoqiao up from the ground.
Leng Qiaoqiao's body was lighter than expected. Holding her in his arms felt like holding a curled-up cat. Her head rested unconsciously on Jiang Ran's shoulder. Her lips were slightly parted, her breathing was even, and her mask was tilted to one side, revealing half of her delicate face.
If Jiang Ran hadn't seen it with her own eyes, she would have found it hard to imagine that this girl, who was only two or three years older than her daughter, was already a well-known figure in the underworld.
How much hardship must she have endured to get to where she is today, as an orphan?
Thinking of this, Jiang Ran couldn't help but tighten her arms around the person in her embrace.
Unexpectedly, Leng Qiaoqiao suddenly frowned, grabbed Jiang Ran's neck tightly, and rubbed her head against Jiang Ran's chest.
"Mother……"
In her sleep, Leng Qiaoqiao murmured unconsciously, her voice soft and gentle, completely unlike the tough-talking, cold-hearted avenger she usually was.
Jiang Ran stood there, stunned.
"Don't go, Mom, don't leave me..."
Leng Qiaoqiao tightened her grip on Jiang Ran's arms, curling up in his embrace as if she had grasped something lost and found again, desperately unwilling to let go.
Jiang Ran came to her senses, her expression somewhat complicated.
Having been a father for so many years, this is my first time being a mother.
Jiang Ran felt a little itchy from Leng Qiaoqiao rubbing against her chest. She tried to put her on the sofa, but Leng Qiaoqiao held on tightly and refused to let go. Her hands were like hooks, gripping Jiang Ran's body, and she couldn't pry them off no matter what she did.
Cold Junior's move was too ruthless.
Realizing that their current position was a bit ambiguous, Jiang Ran had no choice but to cast a calming spell on Leng Qiaoqiao to completely relax her body before gently placing her on the sofa.
The moment Leng Qiaoqiao loosened her grip, she mumbled something indistinctly, which Jiang Ran couldn't hear.
Then, Jiang Ran got up and walked to the partition door at the back, pushed it open and glanced at the control panel.
This thing can't be left in the car for a long time. It starts to smell bad after a few hours in hot weather. It should have been disposed of after the transaction, but Ah Qiang's actions made it impossible to get rid of it in time.
Jiang Ran carried the corpse off the vehicle and took the opportunity to use his inherent magic to dig a ten-meter-deep pit in the wasteland beside the national highway. He buried the monster's corpse in it and then let the soil close up on its own, restoring the surface to its original state, without even a crack visible.
After burying the body, they diverted a stream of water from nearby groundwater to wash the control panel and freezer in the rear of the carriage, removing any remaining odors and traces.
After all the cleanup work was completed, Jiang Ran deactivated her transformation, got into the driver's seat, started the engine, and drove towards the city.
……
After driving for about ten minutes, we suddenly heard a noise from behind.
Leng Qiaoqiao suddenly opened her eyes and instinctively reached for her waist with both hands.
She sat up abruptly, scanning the interior of the RV with a wary look, and found herself lying on the sofa in the campervan. The vehicle was moving smoothly, and the shadows of the trees on both sides of the national highway were receding outside the window.
The informant from the police department has disappeared, and so has the grove of trees.
"Teacher Jiang?" Leng Qiaoqiao rubbed her temples and peeked out from behind. "What happened? How did I end up in the car?"
Jiang Ran gripped the steering wheel, not turning her head, and recited her prepared explanation, which basically said she had accidentally knocked both of them unconscious.
Leng Qiaoqiao frowned as she processed this information, feeling that something was off, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it.
"Are you alright?" Leng Qiaoqiao walked to the passenger seat and looked Jiang Ran up and down.
"If I were in trouble, would I be driving you around?" Jiang Ran replied casually.
Leng Qiaoqiao stared at him for two seconds, and seeing that his complexion was indeed normal, she put her suspicions to rest.
Thinking about it carefully, it makes sense. Jiang Ran must have an extraordinary ability to adapt to magic, otherwise many things wouldn't make sense.
Leng Qiaoqiao leaned back in her seat, then suddenly remembered something, and her expression became subtle.
While she was unconscious, she seemed to have a dream in which she was curled up in a warm embrace, feeling very comfortable, and she even seemed to be talking in her sleep.
She turned to look at Jiang Ran, her tone more tentative.
"You didn't do anything to me while I was unconscious, did you?"
Jiang Ran's gaze involuntarily swept over her, lingering on her somewhat thin figure for a fraction of a second before looking away.
I almost laughed.
He's seen it all in his life, and not to mention that all the other magical girls he knows are stunningly beautiful, even Jiang Ran herself is several times larger than Leng Qiaoqiao after her transformation. There's really no need for him to take advantage of a little girl.
However, Jiang Ran's glance clearly struck a nerve with Leng Qiaoqiao.
"Hey, where are you looking?" Leng Qiaoqiao's expression changed, and she crossed her arms over her chest. "You wouldn't have been tempted to touch me because of my great figure, would you? As a teacher, tsk tsk tsk..."
Jiang Ran wanted to laugh but couldn't.
Because he was the one who had just been groped.
Leng's little hands weren't very clean.
"Alright, stop fooling around." Jiang Ran gripped the steering wheel and steered the conversation back on track. "Now we need to figure out how to sell this batch of goods, otherwise we'll both starve."
Leng Qiaoqiao became deflated when this topic was mentioned.
Given the current situation in Tianhai City, it's not easy to find a buyer willing to accept the goods. They just suffered a loss at the hands of A-Qiang, and who knows if the next buyer will be bait released by the Public Security Bureau?
Having five million yuan worth of goods in stock but being unable to sell them is incredibly frustrating.
Jiang Ran suddenly pulled out a notebook from the side and tossed it over.
"I just took a look at Ah-Qiang's phone and wrote down all the contacts. See if there are any potential buyers listed. If so, we can contact each other privately. Without a middleman, we might be able to earn more."
Leng Qiaoqiao took the notebook, opened it, and her pupils dilated slightly.
The page was densely packed with the names and numbers of contacts, most of whom were well-known figures in the Tianhai City underworld.
When did you watch it?
"While you were unconscious."
Leng Qiaoqiao opened her mouth, then closed it again. This person, without making a sound, has really gotten into a lot of trouble.
"Can we trust what's on A-Qiang's phone?" Leng Qiaoqiao was still somewhat skeptical.
"It should be possible. After all, it's one thing for him to fool us, but he shouldn't actually fool himself."
Leng Qiaoqiao thought about it and realized it made sense. The contacts in A-Qiang's phone were the ones he used daily; if they were all fake, who would he contact?
Jiang Ran continued driving, while Leng Qiaoqiao kept her head down, studying the information on her notebook, occasionally taking out her phone to cross-reference it.
However, she still couldn't figure it out even after driving back to the city.
Perhaps because she was tricked by A-Qiang once, Leng Qiaoqiao now sees everyone as a mole in the Public Security Bureau.
"How about we ship the goods to another city?" Leng Qiaoqiao closed her laptop and tentatively suggested.
"No way." Jiang Ran shook her head. "We're unfamiliar with other cities, and the local police might be cracking down on crime there. If we go there in the dark, the risks will be even higher than in Tianhai City."
"So, online? Like the dark web?"
"Do you think the police don't use the internet?"
Maybe even the dark web was set up by the law enforcement agency specifically for phishing.
"Then...should we ask someone we know?"
"Your acquaintance is either in jail or has become a mole. Which do you choose?"
After several proposals were rejected, Leng Qiaoqiao was at her wit's end. She leaned back in her chair and said weakly, "Why don't we just hide for a while and avoid the limelight?"
Jiang Ran had no objection. "I can wait, but what about you? You're probably penniless."
"Isn't it because of you, Teacher Jiang..." Leng Qiaoqiao put on a pitiful expression and moved closer to Jiang Ran.
Jiang Ran stopped her with one hand.
"I'm a married man. Bringing you home would easily cause gossip, and my daughter might come back anytime. How am I going to explain it to her then?"
"Just say I'm your student, it's the truth anyway."
"What do you think people will think if a female student who is not yet twenty years old lives in the home of a divorced male teacher?"
Leng Qiaoqiao shut up.
Seeing that he couldn't think of a better solution at the moment, Jiang Ran had no choice but to find a place to park the car and the two agreed to meet again the next day.
According to the previously agreed ratio, Jiang Ran will take 60% and Leng Qiaoqiao will take 40%.
Leng Qiaoqiao stuffed the two dark glass bottles into her backpack, zipped it up, and glanced back at Jiang Ran before opening the car door.
"Teacher Jiang."
"Um?"
"Thanks for today."
Before Jiang Ran could reply, she jumped off the car, pulled her hood down, and disappeared into the evening crowd.
Jiang Ran watched her figure disappear around the street corner, remained silent for a few seconds, then reached into his hoodie pocket and pulled out the three bottles of magic essence.
A smile appeared on Jiang Ran's lips. "I didn't expect this thing to have this kind of effect."
Jiang Ran only wanted to use this to cover up the fact that she had transformed into a magical girl, but she didn't expect that the purple snake pattern on her chest would suddenly become active.
At the same time, Jiang Ran seemed to have returned to the time before she was injured by the World Serpent, as if a huge burden had been lifted off her shoulders.
"Purple Snake actually likes this kind of snack?"
Jiang Ran touched her left chest, her thoughts a jumble of emotions.
