Ground football: Ronaldo thought I was going to assist him

Viorante was taken aback.

The two then disappeared completely.

Once they were outside the training ground, Trigla asked, "Any championship is elusive until the final 90 minutes are over. Isn't it a bit harsh to expect him to win two championships in exchange for a starting position?"

Viorante shrugged: "I didn't say he wanted a double; he said it himself. Any trophy he wins is enough reason for me to put him in the starting lineup."

"You know, the pressure in my position is immense. Many of the players selected need some kind of reason to stay quiet, considering their clubs, families, teachers, coaches, and so on."

Trigra smiled wryly, "So Deng Kai made things harder for himself? That's not very kind of you. He's still a child. Are you really going to hold it against him?"

Viorante's face lit up with a sly glint: "Of course I care, I'm very particular... but if he really wins two championship trophies, he might not just become a starter, right?"

Trigram is numb.

Not just a starter, but... a core player?

Is Viorante planning to establish Duncan as the midfield maestro?

What the hell!

Is this a big move?

Does this mean overthrowing the existing core structure?

What about Viana?

His potential is world-class!

"Viana is old enough to play in the European U17 Championship this year, but not in the U17 World Cup next year... The same goes for Quaresma," Viorante said meaningfully. "And they will soon be moving into the reserve team and even the first team, and their focus will shift from the national youth team to their clubs."

"My body, energy, time, and attention will all change accordingly, so I need to plan ahead."

"Cristiano Ronaldo has made great progress this year. His talent may not be the absolute best, but his growth has exceeded everyone's expectations. Who knows what he will become in the future? He may surprise those who trust him."

"And there's always a chemistry between Cristiano Ronaldo and Duncan."

"To be honest, I have doubts about Deng Kai's future career. But I have absolute confidence in his performance in his youth. His tactical maturity is professional-level, which is somewhat overwhelming for other peers."

Trigra nodded repeatedly, extremely happy.

Although Viana is also a near-star player brought up by Trigera, under the influence of his parents and current coach, Viana can be considered a product of Trigera's opposite approach to development.

Trigra wouldn't hold a grudge against Viana because of this.

But if he had to choose between Deng Kai and Viana to train with all his might, he would undoubtedly choose Deng Kai.

If you have Kai, choose Kai; if you don't have Kai, choose Luo!

Without Luo and Kai, all we can do is act recklessly!

……

As time went by, the major leagues came to an end.

The Portuguese U15 league has also entered its third stage, the championship stage.

There are four teams in total, playing six matches, and the champion of this year's U15 league will be determined by the points.

April 26th.

The first round of the championship kicked off, with Sporting Lisbon hosting Porto.

This is their first encounter with Porto this year.

The game was very intense, but the final score was quite close.

The score was tied 1-1, with both sides shaking hands and each earning one point.

The opponents at the championship level are already very strong.

Porto's midfield duo of Flavio Ingol and Auganista Sergio, one attacking and one defending, held their own against Duncan.

Deng Kai learned from Triguera that Ingol also had a chance of being selected for the Portugal U16 team, and his main competitors were Benfica's Verera and Deng Kai himself.

Porto striker Almeida scored a goal in this match, and he will undoubtedly be selected for Portugal U16.

However, his biggest competitor to become the starting center forward is his senior, two years older, the talented center forward Elde Postiga who plays for Porto U17.

Meanwhile, Guimarães won their match against Benfica, temporarily taking the top spot in the standings with three points.

May 2nd.

Sporting Lisbon defeated Benfica 2-0 away, marking their fourth win against their city rivals this season.

On the other side, Porto secured a last-minute victory against Guimaraes thanks to Almeida's header.

With this, Sporting Lisbon, with a total of four points, became number one.

Porto finished second with four points, but due to a worse goal difference than Sporting Lisbon.

Ganmares is third with three points.

Benfica scored zero points, ranking last, and their fighting strength is clearly a level below the top three teams.

Morale is their biggest problem.

The third round of the championship began on May 7th.

Sporting Lisbon drew 2-2 with Guimarães away from home.

Porto, on the other hand, easily defeated Benfica, and with these three points, surpassed Sporting Lisbon to take the top spot.

May 10th, fourth round of the championship.

Sporting Lisbon thrashed Benfica 3-0 at home, completing their "Benfica win" and regaining the top spot with eight points.

Porto and Guimarães were locked in a fierce battle, with Guimarães ultimately emerging victorious.

They and Porto both have seven points.

Both sides have a record of one win and one loss in their head-to-head encounters.

However, Porto were slightly inferior in goal difference, conceding one more goal to Guimarães, so they could only finish third, relinquishing second place.

Benfica lost all four of their first four matches, leaving them with zero points and exiting the title race two rounds early.

This is very similar to their first team's performance this year, having already announced their elimination from the championship race.

This greatly displeased Benfica fans.

They have failed to win any major trophies this season – league, cup, European competition, and youth training!

Benfica's first-team coach was forced to resign under pressure from the management, taking responsibility for the season's failure.

Benfica's star player Nuno Gomes was furious after losing his chance to compete with Jardel for the Portuguese league's Golden Boot due to the team's poor performance.

But he's not a veteran in the team yet, his position is unstable, and he doesn't dare to question the management. He can only vent his dissatisfaction on the youth training team: "It's all because of that game."

"Our youth academy ruined our entire season."

"That crushing defeat severely impacted morale."

"That's when everything around us started to go wrong."

"This isn't superstition; it's a mysterious feeling."

"Before that, I felt like the goal was like the ocean; no matter how I shot, I could score."

"But after that, I felt like our goal had turned into an ocean, and no matter how others shot, they could score."

"To be honest, none of the players in this Benfica U15 team have the potential to establish themselves in the Portuguese league; they are simply too mediocre."

"At their age, I could always easily defeat my opponents."

"You have to outperform your peers to have a chance to join the first team early, establish yourself, and bring honor to the team!"

Nuno Gomez's words carried weight.

This put enormous pressure on Benfica's U15 players.

Many players are now confused as a result.

Some players were angered by this.

I like playing football on the ground: Ronaldo thought I was going to assist him.
