Ground football: Ronaldo thought I was going to assist him

Cristiano Ronaldo took the lead from the start.

But Guardiola also took the opportunity to hold an emergency meeting at Barcelona to adjust the team's tactics.

Another reason for the discord between Van Gaal and Guardiola is that Guardiola likes to change the tactics set by the head coach.

No coach likes a player who has too many ideas.

Maksa: I really like this kind of player!

No coach likes a player who has too many ideas.

Maxa: 666, I admit defeat!

"Their wing defense is very good, and their center-backs never push forward. Duncan, Deschamps, and Matthäus, who can easily become wing-backs, are also very good defensively." Guardiola quickly communicated with his teammates. "So we need to control the ball as much as possible and not give them any opportunities to attack. Their attack is very sharp, and it's difficult for us to completely contain their two flanks."

"Once they cross from the wing, it will be very difficult for us to handle."

"After gaining possession, we should try to launch attacks directly through the middle as much as possible. The space behind Viana can be exploited, and Duncan has a wide range of movement, so attacking the side where he is not is a good option."

"Face their two defensive midfielders, use speed to take them down. Even Matthäus's mobility has decreased significantly. Overmars, Simão, treat them the same way you treat me, understand?"

"Also, if we face their center-back, Fonte, we can just go for him. His defense is mediocre and won't cause much trouble for our forwards."

After Guardiola finished speaking, the players all nodded.

Perhaps off the pitch, Barcelona is fragmented and divided into numerous factions.

But on the field, especially when we're behind, everyone still really wants to win.

At worst, he can transfer again after the UEFA Cup, so his transfer fee can be kept from dropping.

Not everyone has the courage and resources to choose an escape-style transfer like Petit.

Then, as expected, Barcelona began to control the ball for a long period of time, and their style of play was about 80% similar to Sporting Lisbon's.

Because this team has been coached by Van Gaal for the past few years.

One of Sporting Lisbon's core tactics is Van Gaal's big circle tactic.

If Sporting Lisbon can handle it, there's no reason why Barcelona, their favored son, can't.

For about twenty minutes, Barcelona increased their possession to seventy percent.

This is a terrifying statistic.

Sporting Lisbon is a major possession-based team.

This shows that Barcelona players are indeed more capable in terms of individual ability.

In the 41st minute, Rivaldo, who usually prefers to play in the attacking midfield position, shifted his position to the right and switched places with Gerard Lopez.

This is a routine left-right switch, which can change the defensive environment the player encounters.

After a positional switch, the defending player has to readjust to their defensive target, which is often a dangerous time.

But no one expected that at the moment Rivaldo and Gerard Lopez overlapped in position, Guardiola suddenly launched a long pass from the backfield.

Front of the right rib!

Rivaldo suddenly accelerated and rushed to the right front.

Gerard Lopez changed from a lateral movement to a vertical forward run, charging towards Sporting Lisbon's penalty area.

Matthäus positioned himself in advance, attempting to block Rivaldo.

But Rivaldo used both his hands and feet to break free from Matthäus's pull.

Both are Ballon d'Or caliber players, one is at the peak of his career, and the other is already in the very late stages of his career.

There is now a significant gap in ability between the two.

Rivaldo broke free, leaped forward, and stretched out his left leg to stop the ball.

This was an extremely difficult ball control maneuver.

Even Rivaldo had to put in a lot of effort.

Even before Rivaldo had absolute control of the ball, he gave Fonte the opportunity to disrupt the play.

Bang! Rivaldo lobbed the ball horizontally over the top, past Fonte.

At the same time, he also moved laterally and accelerated, creating a shooting opportunity on the right side of the penalty area.

Fonte tried to block with his leg, but his momentum was still moving in the opposite direction, so even if he stretched his leg, he couldn't extend it far enough.

boom!

Rivaldo unleashed a powerful left-footed shot the instant the ball bounced off the ground, without waiting for it to bounce again.

The football soared into the sky, but with a strong forward spin.

After crossing the penalty area line, it suddenly turned downwards with an incredible arc.

Schmeichel made desperate saves, but he simply couldn't stop such a miraculous goal.

No one can come.

"Goal! Rivaldo! Ballon d'Or winner Rivaldo has stepped up!"

"This was absolutely a brilliant performance from Rivaldo! It deserves to be voted the goal of the round!"

"After an incredibly difficult and perfect first touch, he immediately chipped the ball over a defender, and then unleashed a stunning, unpredictable long-range strike! Rivaldo truly is a gem of Brazil!"

"He is undoubtedly the absolute core of this Barcelona team!"

"1-1! Barcelona have equalized and now have a valuable away goal!"

"Of course, Guardiola's passing is also very sharp, with long passes directly from the backfield to connect with Rivaldo. In recent matches, he has returned to the starting lineup, and the facts have proven that the Barcelona coaching staff's decision was correct."

"Barcelona fans are singing Rivaldo's song, Barcelona is on fire!"

"Sporting Lisbon has a really big problem with ticket management. So many Barcelona fans flooding into the stadium is not good news for Sporting Lisbon's young players."

really.

With the support of Barcelona fans, Barcelona pressed on and launched several waves of attacks.

Forty-fifth minute.

It was Guardiola again, launching a long, over-the-top pass from the backfield to find the dropping-back Kluivert. After passing the ball, he even had the energy to look at Deng Kai, as if to say: This is the style of one of the four great defensive midfielders! Kid, football should be played like this!

Despite feeling nauseous, Deng Kai quickly returned to defense.

They even packed it up.

Guagualong, you just wait!

If you run out of stamina in the second half, I'll show you what it means to never underestimate a young person's potential!

Forward area.

Kluivert used his physical advantage to hold off Matthäus.

Matthäus is extremely strong in one-on-one defense, but he doesn't have many good options when he's blocked by taller players.

After all, Matthäus is only 1.74 meters tall.

boom!

Kluivert saw Simão cutting inside and using his speed advantage to get half a body length ahead of Terry, so he chose to pass the ball directly.

Enraged, Matthäus took advantage of Kluivert's pass to shove him from behind. He then immediately moved to the left, following the advancing Rivaldo, away from the scene of the incident.

However, his experienced handling of the situation still couldn't escape the referee's notice.

The referee held his whistle in his mouth, ready to blow it at any moment.

I like playing football on the ground: Ronaldo thought I was going to assist him.
