Ground football: Ronaldo thought I was going to assist him

Attentive viewers may have already noticed Deng Kai's inactivity during this summer's transfer window.

But subtle clues had already indicated his whereabouts.

This summer, Deng Kai and Cristiano Ronaldo responded to the call of the Portuguese Football Federation and led the Portuguese U16 team to participate in the Trinidad and Tobago U17 World Cup.

They also held a special training camp before the competition.

Most of the U16 players are old friends of Deng Kai and Cristiano Ronaldo, and it's where the legend began.

This has led to an explosive increase in attention for this year's World Youth Championship.

Because these are two living, breathing European "top players"!

Many Sporting Lisbon fans actually opposed Duncan and Ronaldo playing in such a "meaningless" match.

Yes, for a normal 15 or 16-year-old player, the European U17 Championship and the FIFA U17 World Cup are definitely the best stages.

In the first year or two of university, the European Youth Championship and the World Youth Championship are also the best stages.

However, Deng Kai and Cristiano Ronaldo are acting strangely.

Last year, when they participated in the European U16 Championship, the honors and exposure from the competition gave them an extra boost.

But this year, let alone the World Youth Championships, even the World Junior Championships won't bring them any benefits.

The attention they receive and the honors they win have already surpassed those of the World Youth Championships and the World Junior Championships themselves.

Cristiano Ronaldo himself, on the advice of professionals, plans to refuse the call-up and take a good summer rest.

Last season the team competed on three fronts, and next season the team will likely have to compete on three fronts again. Even adult players' bodies can't handle it, let alone a minor like Ronaldo.

Don't forget, it's only been a year and a half since Ronaldo's heart surgery, and he still has to submit his physical data to the medical institution every month to check his health.

However, under Deng Kai's "earnest persuasion," Ronaldo still participated in this World Youth Championship.

"If you don't participate, then I'll have one more championship title than you!"

In fact, Deng Kai had many reasons for participating in this competition.

One of the requirements is to be a "champion harvester".

The goal is also to help Ronaldo win more championships that he hasn't won yet.

The third reason is Jiang Yunzhu's request.

This can be traced back to the fact that China's U16 team also qualified for this year's U17 World Cup in Trinidad and Tobago.

To bring Chinese players to the attention of European football professionals as much as possible, the Chinese national youth team has been preparing for this World Youth Championship for a long time.

However, with the news that Deng Kai and Cristiano Ronaldo would not participate in this tournament, the World Youth Championship even faced the crisis of being suspended.

More than fifty companies have indicated they would withdraw from broadcasting the tournament if Deng Kai and Cristiano Ronaldo were not present.

More than six sponsors are considering withdrawing their sponsorship.

The Chinese team doesn't qualify for the World Youth Championship every time.

We can't let such a great opportunity slip away like this.

Therefore, Jiang Yunzhu contacted Deng Kai, hoping that he would participate in the competition and maximize the attention given to this World Youth Championship.

Faced with Jiang Yunzhu's request, Deng Kai bluntly told her, "Chinese football is beyond saving."

Jiang Yunzhu refused to believe it: "How could that be? We have a very good chance of making it into the World Cup finals this time!"

Deng Kai: "And then they couldn't score a single goal... This isn't a football issue at all. There are too many problems with domestic football; it's beyond saving."

Jiang Yunzhu: "I know there are many problems, but we can change them, we can fix them, we can treat the problems wherever they are."

Deng Kai: "You already feel there are many problems? I can tell you responsibly that in ten or twenty years, the problems will only be more serious than they are now. Your path is not viable."

Jiang Yunzhu was a little angry, and a little helpless.

Because of her family background, she knows more about the problems in domestic football than the average person, and that goes far beyond just the level of competition and the impact of the pitch.

Jiang Yunzhu: "Then what path do you have?"

Deng Kai: "That's true. But... it depends on whether you can invite someone of sufficient stature..."

Deng Kai then briefly revealed a bit of his plan to Jiang Yunzhu.

Jiang Yunzhu was completely stunned.

By the time she realized what was happening, Deng Kai had already hung up the phone several minutes ago.

Jiang Yunzhu shook her head, muttering softly, "Disband...how is that possible...disband...can it really be like this...disband, do we really have to disband...to save domestic football?"

But Deng Kai, on the other end of the phone, also didn't expect that Jiang Yunzhu might actually be able to invite someone of sufficient stature.

However, Deng Kai's cooperation is also needed.

After several conversations with Jiang Yunzhu, Deng Kai confirmed that he would attend, or rather, participate in, this World Youth Championship, and also obtained some information from Sporting Lisbon regarding the promotion of youth team players to the first team.

……

Meanwhile, news about this World Youth Championship has been flooding the domestic market.

Breaking News! Chinese-Canadian superstar Deng Kai is confirmed to participate in this year's U17 World Cup! Cristiano Ronaldo, the European Bronze Boot winner, will also be playing!

This is the highest-level World Youth Championship in history!

It's a pity! The Chinese U17 team was not drawn into the same group as Portugal, failing to witness the power of the strongest U17 team!

The national youth team's chances of qualifying are excellent! Their opponents are Finland, Colombia, and Mexico!

The national youth team roster has been released! Two young players from Dalian Shide FC, Feng Xiaoting and Dong Fangzhuo, have been selected, but their low ranking means they may not get a chance to play!

A parent of a player claimed that getting into the national youth team requires at least 100,000 yuan? The Football Association responded: This is false! There are no such large discounts!

Various rumors are circulating, with some even suggesting that high-ranking officials are paying close attention to the World Youth Championships and may even discreetly attend some matches.

This has motivated the Chinese Football Association to not only provide better match services but also to work harder to block "false" information that is "harmful to football".

However, the weather turned against them.

Less than 24 hours after the domestic roster for the U17 World Cup was announced, Sporting Lisbon updated some player promotion and relegation information, which attracted the attention of domestic fans.

Among them, Hao Junmin, Yu Shihao, Shao Jiawei, and Chen Tao were promoted from Sporting Lisbon U17 to U19.

Wu Xudong and Veloso have been promoted directly to the first team and will start playing in the Portuguese league next season.

The reason why domestic media are paying attention to these names is because these players' ages all fit the requirements of this year's U17 World Cup.

Veloso has been selected for Portugal's U17 World Cup squad, and barring any unforeseen circumstances, he will be a starter.

Wu Xudong, who is in the same league as Veloso, was not selected domestically.

The other four equally talented Sporting Lisbon youngsters were also left out of the domestic squad.

This inevitably raises questions about Sporting Lisbon's overall level.

What kind of bullshit club is this?

Even your first-team players can't make our domestic roster for the U17 World Cup!

Sporting Lisbon: Cough cough, we're not exactly a big club, let's not even talk about our long-standing accolades. This past season, we were merely treble winners of the UEFA Cup, the Portuguese Super League, and the Portuguese Cup.

]

In terms of youth training, there have been teams that have won domestic championships every year for the past three years, and they even won the UEFA Youth League title in the year Deng Kai played.

Oh, I see.

Since Sporting Lisbon's strength is not the issue, then who do you think has the problem?

For a time, domestic media and fans continuously questioned the national youth team.

However, the shoe company has not responded to this.

I like playing football on the ground: Ronaldo thought I was going to assist him.
